Game on! Newcastle v Everton.

Let's get it on!
After a week of rest and recuperation it’s back to work for the boys in black and white as Newcastle welcome Everton to St James’ Park for what is likely to be a tough encounter.

Everton will be missing the likes of Tim Cahill and Marouane Fellaini, although doubts over the fitness of Louis Saha remain as yet unconfirmed. The former Toon striker may play, but just how fit is he? That is, and has been, his problem for a number of years now. Despite that though, David Moyes will have his side riled up and ready to make amends for their disappointing midweek FA Cup exit to the hand of Championship outfit Reading.

The match also gives Newcastle the chance to end the two-and-a-half year hoodoo in which they have failed to win a Saturday, 3pm kick-off. It has to end some time, surely?

If you haven’t already done so you can cast your eyes over my match preview and eye up some team news, injury updates, form and fun facts by clicking here.

With regard to streaming (I think Niall Quinn just shuddered then) the match, it’s been hit and miss all season when it comes to quality. However, a quick look at the MyP2P site does at least fill me with a slight bit of hope. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll find one that will be good for 90 minutes. I won’t hold my breath though, but if you do manage to stumble across a decent stream then please feel free to leave a link to it in the comments section below.

That’s just about it. All that’s left for me to say is that I hope we all end up enjoying the game!

Team news is as follows…

Newcastle: Steve Harper, Steven Taylor, Mike Williamson, Fabricio Coloccini, Jose Enrique, Danny Simpson, Kevin Nolan, Cheik Tiote, Jonas Gutierrez, Leon Best, Peter Lovenkrands.

Subs: Tim Krul, James Perch, Shane Ferguson, Danny Guthrie, Michael Richardson, Shola Ameobi, Shefki Kuqi.

Everton: Tim Howard, Tony Hibbert, Phil Jagielka, Sylvain Distin, Leighton Baines, Phil Neville, Jack Rodwell, Mikel Arteta, Leon Osman, Jermaine Beckford, Louis Saha

Subs: Jan Mucha, John Heitinga, Seamus Coleman, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Shane Duffy, Jose Baxter, Victor Anichebe

Howay the lads!

  1. well we got up to 6th briefly, but must have got vertigo or summat 😆
Back down to 9th now. Everton up to 10th.

Hope for a better 2nd half.

  2. It’s the defence that has got me. Right across the back four they have been poor. Granted, Taylor cost the goal, but he was hardly getting covered was he? The whole back four need to bang their heads together and wake up.

  3. If Jose is actually out from now then I guess we’ll be seing even more of this 3-5-2…Its not as if Jonas or Ferguson can really fit into a strong defending role…

  4. defense has been **** today, though, I feel like they’re more exposed than usual.

Question: Anybody thinking Barton’s absence in the midfield is causing the defenders extra problems? Never thought of it before, but he really contributes on defense too, right?

  5. To get done for two easy goals gets me. Granted the second one was a cracking ball in, but the first one has really got me mad. Fair enough Taylor went walkies again, but surely he can also expect someone to cover for him as well?

  6. Is this going to stop the “Taylor at right back” stuff now?

Simpson clearly is our best right back.

  7. At least Taylors out of position whats the donkey Willos excuse for being consistantly **** even with Coloccini saving him loads of times ??

  8. I thought Taylor’s best position was right back in everyones opinion, that’s hardly an excuse then. Williamson has been better this season.

Taylor plays, goals fly in. Not opinion, just facts really.

  9. Somehow i am thinking we are playing with 10men,espcially in midfield we seems to be missing someone.

What a huge space in middle. 😯

  10. Funky do you not think Taylor deserves a wee bit more support after a long lay off and only 1 start before writing him off ❓

  11. Big Dave, you would be spot on with that comment 99% of the time.

I just don’t rate Taylor and never have. If we could put his pace (which is hardly fantastic) into Williamson, I’d dump Taylor for free. He’s awful in my book.

  13. Ice its just all the Pard bashing on .org got real boreing and I would hate to see the Taylor bashing getting the same on here 🙁

  14. CC – I wouldn’t mind putting Sir Steven “Angelcakes” Taylor’s god like status into other players either,,,,,

  15. There isn’t Taylor bashing. Everyone on here is saying the whole defence is poor today – except me. I don’t like the guy or think he’s in anyway a professional footballer.

    Just my opinion.

  16. 4411 I think the team miss Barton but I still think if we can pull 1 back soon it will put them on the back foot.
    Fuk whats happened now 😯

What so you dont think Williamson is immune to criticism, He makes mistakes Taylor would be slaughtered for

  19. man is this ref Webb a mistake. Why does he insist on so much blathering with the players…get the freakin yellow cards out and get on with the game- He is the biggest culprit from taking the momentum out of the game !

  20. our home form is relegation material, luckily we’ve picked up a decent amount away or we’d be fooked

  21. CC – No I don’t think Williamson is immune to criticism. He gets a rough ride as well at times. It’s far from the one way street that you are suggesting…..

  22. Pretty clear how this was headed after Evertons second.
Poor performance, and a result which means our chances of finishing 7th or above are gone.
Our target now will have to be top 10…
