Not the best feeling….

Sing our hearts out for the lads!
One my main problems is that I let NUFC dominate nearly everything I do.

When we win I’m happy and it sets the tone for an enjoyable few days, but when we lose it tends to send me into a mood and I become grumpy and irritable.

Even Mrs Toonsy tends to leave me alone when we’ve lost. She’ll go visiting family or whatever (in fact she is actually outside at the minute washing my car!) and let me stew for a bit such is the impact a defeat can have on me.

Am I any different to many other Newcastle fans? No not really as I know of many people who feel exactly the same and allow our results to dominate our mood.

So anyway, I woke up this morning, having actually had some sleep for the first time in 48 hours, and it wasn’t the best feeling to be honest. We are in a relegation battle again, but to be honest when I look back to the start of the season I can honestly say that I shouldn’t be surprised as I predicted that we’d be around the mix for a while before securing safety.

Our destiny is still in our own hands of course, which is why it’s vitally important that the lads take the chances when they are on offer, and that starts with Wolves at St James’ Park in just under a fortnight. A win in that game will move us that bit closer to the finishing line, because all that matters now is making sure that we are over the right side of that line come the end of the season.

I’m not going to bleat on about the Stoke game, much, as we all know it was a **** performance. The players will know that as will the manager, and they are the only ones who can really alter it when we come up against Wolves.

In terms of survival, I still think we can do it, but I’d prefer it if we started getting results and going about getting the points needed ourselves rather than relying on other teams nicking points off each other to keep us out of trouble.

It’s starting to get to squeaky *** time, but I still believe that the team has enough about them to secure a spot in the Premier League. Stoke is gone and it’s Wolves up next. If we can win that match then there will be a seven point gap between us and them.

It’s not all over, and I’m not falling for all the negative feelings that are going around the place at the minute. I’m just as disappointed as the next person but I’ll get it out of my system and get ready to go again for the next game.

Optimism is the way forward.

  1. Yep. Everything has to be focused on Wolves and beating them, if we win that I think with a few more draws that should see us safe because not only would it be a big win for us it would be a huge dent in Wolves survival chances.

  2. funky – Aye I seen that last night and I have to say, as long as they weren’t getting into too much bother I don’t see what the problem is I mean none of them were in the squad.

Also I don’t think it was taken yesterday, I think it was friday night.

  3. Agree with Dan. Who cares what the players, who weren’t actually playing anyway, get up to in their spare time?

If we’d have won yesterday nobody would give a **** about Best and Ireland being out on the town.

  4. Am I right in thinking the one on the left is Folan, the young Irish defender? If so looks like the 3 Irish boys were out celebrating Paddy’s a bit late 😆

  5. I said the same thing on the previous article, it wasn’t like they had a game the next day or were on the bench.

      (Quote)

  6. Nope, it was taken yesterday at 4.12pm. They had signs saying “we hate Newcastle, it’s really poo” and cheered the Stoke goals.

A club source has told me.

  10. TOONSY you will have same feeling after next game m8,wolves are playing well away from home if you look at there last 6 games or so,lets be honest if we cannot get 6points from remaining games there is something sadly wrong imo 😕

  11. Don’t see what the prob is young lads who weren’t going to be playing out for a drink on a Friday night

      (Quote)

  12. They are injured allegedly – going out into gang bangs with strippers/drunken brawls with the local neds isn’t going to win points.

You get paid £50,000 a week, you give up your life!!!!!!!!! 😈

      (Quote)

  13. Agree rich. Like I said, if we won yesterday their would be no fuss being made about two injured players out on the town

  14. surely some young woman is pressing charges against them, 3 footballers on a night out? 🙄 😀

  15. I would rather Pardew spent his time asking 12 of the 14 who were involved yesterday why they played like they were pissed, Rather than berating 3 lads who werent even named in the match squad adnd were given some time off…

  16. Lets be honest, our home form is so poor against the poorer sides it’s hard to see us beating Wolves. Their a good side and have put in some good perfomances.

1 win in 10! That’s really quite worrying.

The games against Spurs and Sunderland are coming back to haunt us – we had chances to finish them games off and didn’t take them. In my opinion it’s down to the fact that we just don’t have the quality up front and now it’s starting to show.

    Troubling times indeed.

  17. FJ….I find it hilarious that you think I’d take any comment you make seriously 😉

  18. @28

Could not agree more, if we had of won Pardew wouldn’t give a ****, whats wrong with some lads we are not involved with the squad at all going out?

  19. I am just desperate for him to never ever score another goal for the rest of his career, don’t care how it comes about…

It’s a sell out at the stadium of Light, a loads of scousers must of got hold of tickets for the home end.

the commentary have just commented on how quiet it is! 🙂

  23. Aye, 2 subs in 21 minutes against Liverpool, doesn’t make it any easier.

Shows the gap between us and them though, they can bring on Cattermole and Malbranque, 2 experienced premier league players who can do a good job.

      (Quote)

  24. RICHIE you know ill miss you,i miss my hernia but at least the pains gone 😀 you were drunk at brum and knew nowt toonsy said

  25. I feel i should have a say about yesterday inept performance before i move on.

    [Direct to Mr Pardew]
firstly, when you as a manager, wanting to try out a new formation, shouldn’t you have enough training to ensure it works out? I don’t belive it works when you employ 3 slowest of our defenders in the 3-5-2 formation.

Slow to run(Sol),Slow to react(Mike),Slow to Tackle down(Coloccini).

I know the reason why you want to start sol campbell, cause he has the strength to block opponents, but don’t you also rmb,he is getting old? Why can’t you employ Him as a sweeper type defender so that he doesn’t need to run, which obviously he cmi anymore.

Another issue is the upfront, I know Lovekrands doesn’t wants to be empolyed as a winger, but i myself also knew that he ain’t a poacher,he simply can’t feed off from any targetman too.

Why didn’t you employ Him as a winger just for yesterday.

Lastly, even though it was 3-5-2 formation,it seems that 5 can’t even dominate the midfield at all,and was over-run time and time again.Oh dear gosh!

    /rant over. 👿

  26. it seems the mackems are cheering whenever carroll falls or lose a challenge. 😈 😯

  27. Penalty! ref gives a free kick and linesman WRONGLY (in my opinion) over rules him and a penalty is given.

      (Quote)

  28. What a dubious penalty.LMAO. 😆

I seriously wondering who shall i support.

    The Unwashed or Loserfool? 😕

  29. CC….aye, I honestly believe he’ll have woke up the next day and though wtf have I done…….then he’ll have thoght about his wages and thought ah yes, that’s what football is all about 👿

      (Quote)

  30. I think its more than that hes left his family, friends, home, club behind.

True they arent playing to his strenghts by humping it in his general direction instead of working it wide and whipping in crosses.

I just think he looks sick of his life but im no expert like…

      (Quote)

  31. Carroll is awful, again. It won’t be long before people get on his back and he gets down, goes out, gets pissed and batters a woman or something and ends up in trouble. Happy days 🙂

      (Quote)

  32. He still had a header cleared off the line.

Honest answer, no need for fake anger and the like – would anyone here take Carroll back if he ended up leaving Liverpool similar to the Robbie Keane debacle?

Carroll back for £10m to £15m and still end up with about £20m from the deal?

      (Quote)

  33. @funkyjesus: Nope. 😐

We do play better without carroll at all.

albeit a good poacher is needed in summer time.

    we have enough targetman.

      (Quote)

  34. Not really. He had his chance and threw it all away to get his hands on some extra sheckles just five months before he could have done at his local club, you know the one he loved and said that he would like to spend the whole of his career at?

If he’s done it once he’ll do it again, and I only want players who actually want to be at NUFC.

      (Quote)

  35. So he has gone from the future England striker to someone you don’t want at the club because he took more money elsewhere?

No one at this club would stay here if another team on our level or higher such as Liverpool offered them more. Not one single player – born in Newcastle or not.

By that logic, should the whole squad go? I’d take Carroll back in a heartbeat, to be honest.

We will never get another Alan Shearer who stays with the club. Even “back in the day”, he was a rare exception. It just doesn’t happen often.

  36. We just need someone who gets those flick’s on from Shola,Best, ranger, and bang into net. 👿
