El-Arabi back on the NUFC transfer radar?

El-Arabi in the frame again?
Newcastle are rumoured to be interested in securing the services of Caen striker, Youssef El-Arabi in the summer.

This is not a new rumour as we were linked with the 24-year-old back in January. Nothing came of it back then of course as El-Arabi elected to stay with his boyhood club, but circumstances change and now El-Arabi has stated his desire to leave the Ligue 1 strugglers in the summer, with a team in England or Spain being the preferred destination for the Moroccan international.

El-Arabi, who is under contract until 2013, told L’Equipe: “I have made my decision and I will leave. I have told the leaders of club my intention, but they know I’m going to keep giving everything until the end season.”

“There are lots of clubs interested in me, but I have not decided where I want to go yet. I’m attracted to leagues in Spain and England.”

El-Arabi has scored 15 goals in 30 appearances so far this season, which isn’t bad at all considering his current club sit just one point ahead of the relegation places. No doubt Graham Carr will have cast an an eye over him at some point considering our well documented French scouting missions.

From the looks of this video (Dennis Wise syndrome), he certainly looks like a canny player.

Another day another link then, but only time will tell whether or not there is any truth in it. I do think we’ll be active in the French league though, so you never know.

What do you make of it?

Ashley paid Owen £110k per week. The point was simple from the outset. He is no longer prepared to pay big wages.
Hence, once Tiotes head is turned by a big offer and wages by another club then we have another Andy Carroll scenario.

Class. Little wormy is turning my lines on me. The worm that turned.
He is stuck with big contracts that he would happily ditch if clubs came in with big offers, Alan Smith being one.

  3. Moreno…ignore the pr1ck that is Sh1tnon Fcukwit Number 9.

There’s no point…he’s blinkered in his view and always requests evidence or ‘facts’ yet always fails to offer any evidence or ‘facts’ in return…oh & then claims he’s won the argument when really he hasn’t the intelligence to have a genuine debate…

    He’s a c@nt us what I’m saying basically…

Just thought I’d present you with some facts when you questioned my intelligence…something that you often fail to do!

But I’ll let you show yourself to be the cant you are…

  6. The tale of the tape:

    Bull **** No.9

4:25 PM – “Ashley doesn’t pay big wages”

4:52 PM – “The club refuse to pay big wages”

5:09 PM – “Ashley won’t subsidise any big wages”

5:50 PM – “Ashley no longer pays wages”

Now we can begin to understand why he won’t answer the very simple question about who pays the mental wages commanded by some of our players.
