Game on! Liverpool v Newcastle.

Game on at Anfield.
It’s an early start for fans of Newcastle today as a rather curious midday kick-off at Anfield awaits.

It’s a match that takes on extra significance as it gives fans a chance to have their say on the Andy Carroll affair and allows them a first chance to get their feelings off their chest. Some people may feel that he was forced out, but I very much doubt that many people in the away end at Anfield today will feel the same.

Of course, the reaction to Andy Carroll is just a sub-plot and what really matters is getting a result at a ground where we have traditionally struggled. Liverpool are resurgent at the moment whilst Newcastle are just trying to limp towards the end of the season with an injury-hit and already thin squad.

Still, we held Manchester United to a draw so there is no reason why we can’t do the same today. As I said in the match preview, I really can’t see us getting more than a draw as I just can’t see where our goals are going to come from.

The match is live on ESPN here in the UK and is also available on many overseas TV channels from various parts of the globe. That will mean that there is likely to be a good amount of streams available if you need to watch the match via that means. In fact a quick glance at MyP2P shows that there are plenty to choose from.

I’m not generally a negative person, but I have a bad feeling about today. I’d be delighted if we could pick up a point and I’d be doing naked cartwheels if we won. I feel that my modesty and gymnastic ability will both stay hidden for today though although I do live in hope that we can do something today.

Howay the lads!

  1. Simpson just stops and goes backwards. Not much better with the ball than williamson to be fair, yet no-one on these blogs ever says owt about him for some reason.

  4. Well, this season epl title race seems so late..

Hopefully Arsenal beats Man Utd,to allow chelsea having the chance to even retain the league title this season. 😆

  5. Ah didn’t expect anything before the game, think most of our players have one eye on their summer holidays though. Shola and Lovenkrands proved once again they are no way near close enough to being premier league class – im sick of seeing Lovenkrands face to be honest.

Bartons set pieces were awful and I don’t think I have ever said this but Jonas was our best player 😆

  6. I haven’t forgotten about the match report btw. Mark is doing it. I think he is feeling venomous 😆

  7. Can’t agree that the players were looking forward to the holiday… other than Enrique maybe.

Jonas was absolutely ridiculous today. Flanagan had absolutely no chance of containing him.

With as many balls as we played into the box today, it would have been nice to have had two big strikers… 🙁
