A video reminder of last season.

Shola Ameobi

Now I know a lot of you like your videos, so I’ve found this one for you to enjoy if you’d like to take a look at it.

It’s a highlight reel of some of the moments of last season, and I have to say that I really enjoyed watching it. I never knew it existed until I saw Dan the mole post it on Facebook which is when I grabbed it for here so the rest of you can enjoy it.

It’s a little bit of light relief to what has been a frantic day with regard to news regarding Newcastle United and allows us some time to reflect upon a few memories of last season.

So sit back, relax and enjoy near on five minutes of goals, goals, goals.

Take it away Adele!

  1. Dave – It was something I read earlier on either BBC or the local press that mentioned it.

  3. Yeah I’ve heard that being mentioned Toonsy, it really sounds like he is going to switch

  4. Yeah, Shane Ferguson is another of the Northern Irish players who are switching to the Republic because the Republic have a superior team at the moment. Republic have stolen Aiden McGeady and James McCarthy from Scotland too, it’s their thing.

Northern Ireland have one or two Republic trained players in their team too, but they rarely mention that since Republic have a long term history of “adopting” players.

  5. Would Ireland for Barton really clear that much for Villa??? Hmm. Having a hard time considering Ireland for Barton. Its like the brain chooses the obvious which is Ireland is younger and has same qualities if not a bit more swagger. However, my heart says keep Barton as he is one of me favs, has excellent passing skills and is an integral part of the team currently. Though decision.

  6. @funky, where have you found out bout Ireland switching with Barton? I would take Ireland, I know he’s had his injuries but when he played for us he played some really good stuff. I would love to see him in a Newcastle shirt but for swapping Barton, i’m not so sure?

  7. yeah, not that simple. Family and religion can easily come into play. Personally I think they should play as a united ireland, like the rugby team do, Ulster players do fine with the rest…still, can’t have everything eh.

  8. I think Worthington has a lot to do with it as he seems to be fuking things up and fuking the players off at the same time.
But then the Republic have always been at that **** Jack Charlton would take you even if you had a greyhound with Irish blood

  9. jay jay, you’re probably right but in football terms, the Republic try to offer any youngster who is eligible and has potential a game as soon as, so they can claim them. That’s why the Northern Irish team has about 16 year olds in it so they cannot swap now.

I am loitering in the BBC 606 page at the moment and the Villa page is talking as if Barton is their player already. I have seen no official news or anything, but when fans are talking like that, there is usually something in it. It may be something in the local news do there or something.

  10. FJ – I’ve had no **** off the many Villa fans who just about scrape by down here so I dunno. I bet it will make The Mail in the morning though 😆

  11. Interesting, but I can’t really see Barton going to villa can you? They might be trying to get a reaction from the newcastle fans.

I’m on twitter and have searched about Barton and lots of people are saying that they’ve signed for a club. Makes me question whether that is true or not. One person even said he was off to Liverpool but Joey is a born and bred Everton fan so I wouldn’t see him going there.

  12. I am not sure if there is anything in it at all. Barton has said he won’t be sold but if there is a straight swap with no money involved, is it a sale?

Would he really turn down a move to Villa, who I see in the top half of the table next season to stay with us and then leave for nothing?

The problem is I can’t see Barton fitting in anywhere except Newcastle anymore. No fans will give him the time we have.

  13. FJ they wont give him time because he is our player, if he was their player they would learn to love him and get behind him in a very short space of time.
But I believe he will still be here 😉

  14. Yeah I agree with you funky. Barton loves the appreciation that the fans have shown him up at Newcastle. His style of play suits us hands down.

The straight swap would be like Man City gaining Milner and giving Ireland to Villa. You could tell that Ireland didn’t want to be at Man City.

I think what will happen is that the issue will cool down and his situation will be resolved. Reminds me a lot of steven taylor’s situation when he refused a new contract.

  15. I wonder if Stephen Ireland will have an entire career of his transfers being swap deals.

Like no one ever paying for Sol Campbell since he only moved in free transfers, lol.

  16. i see villa going down the *******. They are dissolving. Young will be off and they cant keep downing. Ireland doesnt want to be there. They have a poor defence. Will loose friedel. Would feel sorry for joey if he ended up there.

  17. I hope so, goose. The thing is that now I think the deal is irrelevant as he has criticised his employers. Right or wrongly, quote or no quote, it will be a long way back from this I reckon 🙁

  18. toonsy, I agree and if Joey speaks his mind on twitter then I can see him not getting another offer at all. I think if he gets his head down and shows what he can do on the pitch then he might be rewarded.

  19. Anyone see this on Twitter? lol:

@joey7barton How about coming to Blackpool – I need a replacement for charlie

  20. just saw this quote from Olly Kay (Chief Football writer @ The Times) about wor Joey

    OliverKayTimes Oliver Kay
Great to see @Joey7Barton on twitter. He’s made mistakes in his life, but he’s bright, opinionated and is learning from his mistakes

    not bad eh?

  21. Henry Winter (head honcho at Torygraph) also getting in on the act, saying he’s criticised him in the past but that he’s had a great season out of position. I really don’t want Joey to leave, he’s getting a bit of abuse but mostly fans asking him if he’d join their clubs!

  22. Funnily enough I don’t get the impression Ashley is that bothered by Barton’s comments. To be fair he’s heard worse to his face on multiple occasions, and I know this came from an employee, but I think over the years Ashley would have developed pretty thick skin-I think he sees the players far more as assets than from a personal perspective. Same thing can’t be said for Owlheed though, think he’s the spiteful c*nt that’s messed this around.

Wembley was immaculate today. The pitch has improved out of all recognition in the last couple of years. What a game we have in store.

Haha-as if you’re getting any playing time you bellend 😀 😀

  24. I can’t say I am surprised that Barton isn’t being offered a deal since the club almost made it public they wanted rid of Barton years ago and only Keegan saved him.

      (Quote)

  25. If Barton knows he is not getting offered a better contract then I would like him to speak his mind and then get his head down and be professional.
To be twittering on will become a negative thing for him mentally and the fans will get sick of it.

It does sound as though words have been exchanged already between Barton and Ashley or Owlheed and he knows there’s no way back.
