Win the NUFC 2010/2011 season review DVD.

The image of the season? Watch it on DVD.
I’m a big fan of giving something back. In fact it’s something that I used to do at my old workplace when a proportion of my wages went to charity every week.

So keeping in tune with my values it’s about time I gave something back to you guys and offered you the chance to win something at my expense. Now it’s only something small, a token if you like, but at least it’s something in the shape of the Newcastle United 2010/2011 Premier League review DVD. Don’t fret – bigger prizes and competitions are on the way. I’m merely using this as a warm up!

Now for a question I’ve had to think carefully. I can’t make it too easy, and with the internet making everything easily researchable I’ve plumped for a guessing game. So the the question is:

Who do you think we will play in our first game of next season?

Now I’m not looking for home or away – just the team will do. However there are a few rules which are outlined below:

1 – The competition is only open to registered users of the site. If you aren’t a registered user then unfortunately your entry will be void. If you want to win then you must register. Simples.

2 – To make it easy to administer you must enter the competition in your registered username. Not Dave or Richard or whatever your real name is.

3 – Entries must be sent via e-mail to [email protected]. You can chat about your guesses in the comments as always, but unless you send an e-mail your prediction won’t count. What I would like to see is your username in the subject line with your guess in the main body of the e-mail.

4 – You can send as many guesses as you like but only the first one will be counted.

The winner will be contacted via e-mail shortly after the closing date which is Thursday, 16th June, 2011. As long as your entry is in by the time the clock rolls over to Friday your entry will be counted. Shipping to anywhere in the world will be paid in full.

In the event of a draw there will be a tie-break question. The person who gets closest to the answer wins. If two or more people get the same answer then the winner will be drawn from a rather fetching flat cap that some of you may have already seen or at least heard about.

The competition is open!

  3. Timmy boy vs. Brazil. 😯

    The Oranje line up:
    Tim Krul; Gregory van der Wiel, John Heitinga, Joris Mathijsen and Erik Pieters;
Nigel de Jong, Kevin Strootman and Ibrahim Afellay,
Dirk Kuyt, Robin van Persie and Arjen Robben.

With the injuries of Stekelenburg and Michel Vorm, Van Marwijk had to make a tough decision between Newcastle’s Tim Krul, Cillessen ( NEC) and Jelle ten Rouwelaar (NAC).

Van Marwijk picked Tim Krul. The 23 year old impressed yet again in the EPL this season, replacing goalie Harper, in 25 games. He played against world class strikers like Drogba, Rooney, Torres and Van Persie. Bert: “That was the deciding factor for me. All three goalies are tremendous talents, but I think Tim has a bit more experience in big games.”
