Columbus 0-3 Newcastle – HD Video highlights!

Finally there are some video highlights of the 3-0 victory against Columbus Crew last night. They are in High Definition aswell which is a bonus! Enjoy.

Shola Ameobi gave Newcastle the lead before Fabricio Coloccini effectively wrapped the game up on 51 minutes. The best was saved till last however as young Haris Vuckic curled home a cracking shot from the edge of the penalty area in stoppage time after good work from Mehdi Abeid and Demba Ba.

I raved about Dan Gosling in the match report and from the video you can see why. The former Evertonian effectively ran the show from midfield and gave us a glimpse of what he could be about this season. Particularly interesting were his late runs into the box, which were reminiscent of a certain Kevin Nolan I’ll add.

Howay the lads!

  1. I cant access the highlights above but just watched 5 mins on YouTube . We looked good.
We looked sharp and full of attacking play.

  2. Bobby – I’ve got seats for £1 on my bus. Wanna hop on? 😉

I’ll let you try out a short hop first to see if you like it 😉

  3. Without getting too ahead of myself, we have some good youngsters at the club, probably the best crop since I’ve been supporting us!

Tavernier, Ferguson, Abeid and Vuckic look very good and are all 19 or younger! Lets not forget Gosling is only 21 as well 🙂

  4. Pissed already Bobby? 😀 Must be working up the dutch courage to get your **** out at Fenwicks when Pards signs Defoe and Benzema… 😎

  5. I laughed when vuckic and abeid played rock paper scissors after the goal.
Ba looked a bit lazy, he looked like a real hard worker at west ham though, I’m guessing it’s because this was a friendly and he is protecting himself from injury. Can’t wait for the Arsenal game. Hope Parjew has courage enough to play Abeid, Vuckic, Tav in a few games. Gosling looked awesome btw!

  6. Gosling had a very good game, agree with Dan @ 3 our young players look very promising. I can’t wait to see more of Vuckic – his goal was on his weaker foot! 😀

  7. Aye, I imagine Pards told him to take it easy, its all about fitness after all and he was one of the few to play the full 90 mins so I’m not too worried how he looked.

  8. Ba was involved in two of the goals, right? Did he get a flick on from the corner for Colo’s goal? Can’t really tell from the vid.

He found Vukic well for the third.

At one point, I thought he should have first-timed the ball instead of trying to work past one of their defenders.

Gosling looked very dangerous. Good stuff.

  9. It sounded like Ba was everywhere he just couldn’t convert.

Gosling, Marvaeux, Vuckic all look like real players. It should help us survive benny boy’s injury. Gosling looked like he bossed that role last night

  10. To be fair, Ba did get an assist and their keeper sent off, I’d say that’s a successful debut 😉

  11. Mithun Toon – It needs tinkering with for sure. Hopefully in a few weeks we will be upgrading or doing something. It can’t keep happening 😕

Gosling looked really good. Hope his injurys are over so we can see alot more of him.

I love how Abeid and Vuckic have become such good friends already

Ashley and Newcastle aren’t the same thing.

One can exist without the other.

  14. Cheers for those highlights guys, a lovely third goal and good to see Gosling showing some positive form. It would be nice to have some genuine competition in midfield.
