Enrique set for Liverpool medical ahead of £6 million move.

Enrique the red?
Jose Enrique is set to have a medical at Liverpool later on today ahead if you believe what David Craig’s “sources” say on Sky Sports News.

To be honest I take the **** out of Craig but there is more than likely something in it.

I mean it’s hardly been a big secret that Jose was looking for a way out of Newcastle, and Liverpool have been rumoured to be interested in him right from the start.

Being realistic, with only a year left on his contract there was always a strong chance of him leaving so I’ve been prepared for it for a long time now anyway, as have a lot of us. It’s not the bolt from the blue that the sale of Andy Carroll was.

This is just an update by the way. I was just watching Sky Sports News and Goofy David happened to be on sharing the news so I thought I’d share it with you. There will of course be more reaction and news as and when, or indeed if, anything develops further.

Adios Jose, maybe?

  1. Ah well, he obciously wants European football…. Oh but did they qualify? Never mind. He will obviously broaden his skills at Liverpool. Let me see there is drug dealing, car theft and their latest hobby rioting to learn and he has an ex-team mate already on sute to show him the ropes. Good luck Enrique!

    Lol in fairness to him and Liverpool, they are a bigger club than us with a loyal fanbase and will likely be in Europe next season. However, methinks they are living outside their means and it will catch up with them soon.

  2. @1 – If Liverpool make it into Europe this season that will probably offset their spending in a couple of seasons.

  3. And Tavernier is going to Carlisle on a 1 month loan, left back on Saturday will be? Perch?
    Lots of effort being put into selling players, pity they dont put the same into buying.

  4. Fair play Jose, Liverpool may not be in the Champs League but they have realistic chance of getting there, we don’t – Pardew himself said we are in no position to compete – he is right but why say it, can’t do much for player confidence in the club. Adios, good luck

  5. …and David Craig’s source seems to be Lee Ryder’s twitter page 🙄 …..**** it’s easy being a journo these days.

    Robert…Hopefully we’ll get Pieters in for Saturday….won’t hold me breath though.

  6. It’s a must that they qualify for Europe or it’s very likely they’ll go bust! Disappointed if we don’t have a replacement in by tomorrow though!!

  7. Amazing what 6 good moths in the premier league can do, ***** for his first two years, Club gets relegated, Nee fecker wants you, 6 good months in the top flight, Spit your dummy out after hughtons sacked, Cost team points with shitty attitude and get a lucrative move to a champions league club er..UEFA cup club er.. Liverpool… 🙄

  8. Richietoon – Well we’re pretty much running out of viable options imo. Unless there’s another Carr special on the cards of course.

  9. Seems like we are loosing our est player. However if Newcastle want to be looked at as an atractive club in the future, then players brought in need to know they have the opertunity to leave for better clubs eventually. I actually thought Enrique would be leaving for a better club than Liverpool. I think we are going to finish above Liverpool this season 😉

  10. I agree with JoeSoap, another player added to Carroll, Henderson, Downing and Adam , who if we would have told Liverpool fans in 2010 that they were signing these 5 for 80 million they would have laughed at you.

    Now 1 good season and they are all off, there first 11 still isnt good enough to get into the top 4 for me, only player who would get into Premiership 11 is Reina….Suarez not yet, you cant put him ahead of Hernandez, Tevez and Rooney

      (Quote)

  11. Stuart – Hope so. Strange to see you so optimistic so I’d guess you believe it. It needs to be though so he can be eligible for Saturday.

  12. David…just going of this, he’s one of the more reliable ones….if they exist.lol

    NUFC hope to have Pieters on board by Sat – but no striker til next week. And no huge interest in Bendtner

  13. stuart – you are far too negative to be coming out with such a positive statement. 😯

    Expect Booby to come steaming in and putting you back into your place on his choo choo any minute now. :mrgreen:

    I do hope you are right tho 😆

  14. @20 – Oh well I can live in hope. Just seems a bit silly if we’re being offered a quality striker, we’re in the market for a quality striker and we’re saying we’re not interested.

  15. lets see if pardew gets something right..saying we will have replacement in for him quickly…we have a bid..it will be turned down…then it will go on for weeks…but lets see..come on pardew get some..self respect back..

  16. I know Jose has pace and gets forward well but his play from January on had showed his interest isn’t with the club so the hell with him, bring in the Dutch kid. Let him play the striker onside at loserpool instead of st James, glad this is coming to an end.

  17. David. I think it may be because of his shitty attitude or something.
    Dont matter how good you are. You’ve got to be pulling in the same direction as everyone else at the club or Pards wont be interested.

  19. If he wants to leave let him, and anyone else for that matter. I am a big beleiver that a good “TEAM” of players who want to play for the club are better than a very good set of individuals ie Owen, Viduka, Martins, Duff etc
    The players we have brought in want to play for the club and all have praised the club & fans when interveiwed. Make no mistake, our midfeild is the strongest I have seen for many a year. Only the top 4 sides have better. If we bring in a proven striker I honestly beleive we will all be in for a very exciting season.

  20. Jose never looked happy the second half of the season, always felt his performances were below par. He’s wanted out for ages and if we get pieters in I will be very happy, another dutch international coming to join the club. Let’s hope Krul tells him to come to us

      (Quote)

  21. Asim has echoed my concern. Have the club learned from the sale of Carroll and have someone lined up? Or is another sell no and think later thing? If there is a replacement lined up then it sort of makes sense. If not it just reinforces the view of raking in transfer money.

  22. My predictions for the first five fixtures.

    :: Arsenal (h) 1-1
    :: Sunderland (a) 2-2
    :: Fulham (h) 2-1
    :: QPR (a) 0-1
    :: Aston Villa (a) 1-1
    :: Blackburn (h) 4-2

    With Enrique going, who is going to play at left-back on Saturday?

  23. Thing with Bendtner is not the quips about him being worth however much he is a week because he is an entertainer. In a grudging kind of way it’s true.

    What i didn’t like is the whole “playing football is annoying when I could be skiing” thing. One of the best jobs in the world and still not happy. Fucktard

      (Quote)

  24. The rights and wrongs of Enrique moving are immaterial, fact is we are yet another player down from a dangerously short squad which will be tested to the limit if we get injuries, particularly in defence, and there are few positive noises coming from our management, other than, we cant compete?

    IMO letting tavernier leave shows a bit of confidence in getting the deal done in time, i hope… 😯

      (Quote)

  26. Kadar can play at left back as well. He’s played there a few times for us. He’s an option if Pieters deal isn’t done but I’m sure it will be

    Hmmmmmm 😕

  28. Zoe – I have this argument with DJG fairly often. Kadar is not a left back. Last time he played there he got took off after 20 minutes after being ripped apart by Peterborough.

    Centre back with a left foot? Yes. Left back. No!!!!! 🙂

  29. Don’t forget too fergie’s back training so he should be available in a week or so. LB this week? Jonas?

  30. Robert….I agree we need more in but we’ve lost 2 who would have been or had a chance of being in the starting 11, we’ve brought in 4 who would fit into that category 😉

  31. please stop this nonsense about bendtnar. I am having enough of him and the danish press’ admiration for a player a below average player who thinks he is a world beater, and it would KILL me if I had to deal with him at my beloved Newcastle aswell. 😥 😕

    On a lighter note, thank fog we can soon leave this horrific enrique thing behind us, and let him join a vastly overrated/overpriced cesspool.

  32. Toonsy- Well peterborough are a bunch of cheats watched them in the carling cup the other night.

    He can play there but I think he does prefer CB

    Sorry, I’m groggy and just waking up.

    Suppose we don’t get this new kid in. Who do we have that can even play at LB?
