Has Xisco gone to Deportivo for good this time?

Xisco: Going back to what he knows?
It would appear that Xisco has returned to Spain to his former club Deportivo la Coruna, with the only question mark being whether the deal is a permanent one or a temporary one.

Personally, any deal that gets rid of Xisco is good one in my opinion although obviously a permanent one would be better as it would mean that he won’t return.

According to the oracle that is Wikipedia (I know!) it is a permanent deal although there is a distinct lack of any other confirmation on that front with other sources stating that the deal is just a temporary one. Perhaps one of the losers that edit Wiki will run along now and change it?

Will he be back or won’t he? It seems strange that whilst the club are keen to offer out free transfers to the likes of Joey Barton and Alan Smith they would be willing to keep hold of Xisco who has had about 60 managers to work under during his time at St James’ Park but has managed to impress none.

Perhaps he has been offered the same way out as Smith and Barton although I personally find it hard to believe that Deportivo would be able to remunerate Xisco to anywhere near the same level that we have been for the past three years or so, especially when you consider that they are no longer a La Liga side having suffered relegation last season.

To me all the signs point towards it being yet another loan deal with us being almost certain of picking up most of his wage tab in the process. I’m not too fussed on that to be honest as at least we’ll be saving a little bit and keeping Xisco around is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. At least it frees up another place in the squad I guess although in fairness we could actually replace him with nobody and be no worse off.

Am I being too hard on Xisco? Probably. Do I care? Not really. I understand that it’s not his fault that he has been paid a fortune for doing absolutely nothing during his time at NUFC. Being honest I’d milk it for as long as I could aswell. The thing that does irk me is that he hasn’t even bothered to at least make an effort when he has been here. There has been no urgency to prove a point and to me that is not what being a professional is about.

So goodbye Xisco. Hopefully this time for good!

but it’s a sad reflection on our club when we have one of the best left backs in the premier, who we can’t keep hold of because of our lack of ambition.

Even Pardew admits we can’t compete at a European level despite the fact some say on here that we have signed outstanding players in Cabaye and Marveaux.

I mean, despite all my criticisms, I expect us to be mid table again so why do I get so much abuse when ultimately we think we will end up no better off than last year.?

My point is that we have £25m of the £40m received to make us better and we are still waiting to offload before buying.

Please tell me a good counter argument to my viewpoint?

    High ham weighting. 😕

  3. I hope he is gone for good as there is no point to him at all if he isn’t going to add to the team.
Batty I agree mate Saylor top scorer, funny he is still here and he was a greedy unloyal c@nt and was only trying to screw the club for money or a move, but where is the 2 loyal players that loved the club remember them 2 Carroll and Tugboat 😆 😆

  6. Gutted to see Jose finally go – just wish it could have been abroad.Dogleash dismantled the best team we have had for a couple of generations, now he’s at it again.
Everybody’s talking about strikers – quite right – but what about the defence, no full backs – no plan !!! and these stories about Colo back to Spain seem to have been overlooked – if he goes what the f**k is going on – and why isnt Kadar figuring – this kid has been considered one of Europe’s brightest prospects – a bit like Vukic
I’ve never seen a team play with a keeper ,3 at the back ,6 in midfield and a striker

Is that not just convenient for the club?

Come on? Lover will be on peanuts in premier terms.
I know for a fact, ranger is on £8k per week.

These players could be paid up or put up for frees.

Does everyone not see why it suits the club to claim it’s a 25 man squad?

Toonsy has done loads of threads on it but I’ve refrained from criticising too much because I don’t want to undermine him as he puts so much effort into the blog.

But it’s gone on too long now and not one of you on this blog has realised the simplicity of offloading players.

Many clubs will pay better wages than we are paying our fringe players as long as we don’t try and rip the eyes out of the prospective clubs by asking a transfer fee.

We paid minimal amounts for these players so we should accept a minimal loss and create space for better players.

    WE HAVE £35m TO SPEND!!

  8. Thought we had room for a striker anyway, then Jose and Xisco off = two more spots so three?

Doubt we’ll get three in though, but certainly counting on two… and for the right positions please!!

  10. Anyone wonder where we’d be now if we hadn’t have sold Carroll?

We needed to sell him to bring in a couple of freebies so what would have been able to bring in without that sale?

Position for next season based on Barton and Jose leaving and for fantasy sake Petiers coming in.

Weve saved £30m . So where do you see us?

  15. Bobby – I don’t think many people doubt that players can be let go (isn’t that what they are trying to do with Smith and Barton???). We all know Ashley is tight so what makes you think he’ll just pay up contracts? The evidence to back that up is there right in front of you with Smith an Barton who can go for nothing remember…

Also players like ranger don’t need to be named anyway…

Why does it not cross people’s minds though. They are so tied up with this stringent 25 man squad when it takes a knats brain cell to realise that these players who are on a less than £10k per week can be easily offloaded on a free.

It suits the club to keep them UNTIL the final day of the transfer window when they will depart FOR AN UNDISLOSED FEE!!

Predictable as the fantasy club not grasping life basics . 🙄

  19. Booby old chap, would it make you happy if perhaps ashley was trying to make it easier to sell the club by offloading all our high earners.
Would that put a smile on your cynical face?
Would that fulfil your deepest fantasies?
Would you be giving it woo hoo large and all that?
    You just never kna.
He may just offload all those players, sell the club as you wish ………..
……….and get us relegated in the process.
He’d have the last laugh, after all the **** he has taken.

  20. Bobby – So to clarify, after moaning about us not spending money you now advocate us paying up contracts of players and letting them just go? How many other teams do that?

  21. @BB

Thankyou for not using abusive language it makes you slightly more intelligent than a newt. 😛

But to answer your point, he’s already done as you say and got us relegated and I can only go off what our player of the season said after the Leeds game, that he felt the same concerns again and wasn’t prepared to put up with it.

Don’t ask me, ask last years player of the season who has experienced relegation through Adhleys tight fisted approach.
    😛

  22. No as per usual you fail to read what I wrote.
I asked you if it would make you happy if he was making it easier to sell the club, by offloading our high earners, even tho it could wel lead to relegation?
You do want him to sell the club dont you?

  23. I dont recall him selling off our best players and getting us relegated??????

  24. @toonsy

    Eh?

    No.

Instead of trying to claw back a transfer fee for lover or perch who are on less than £10 k, put them up for nothing.

The club won’t because they know it frees up places in the squad.

Toonsy, this regime as so manipulative that they try every trick in the book to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes in order to recoup as much money back ASAP and bail out.

You keep bringing up this 25 man squad restriction. Lover is on less than £12k per week. Fact.

Are you seriously telling me that no club would offer him a better deal in the premiership?

The club won’t put him up for free for one reason only. Because that would release a place in the squad and put pressure on the board to buy.

  29. Bobby – Last one as I’m off to kip now.

Yes I get your point entirely, but you are failing to see mine. You say about not offering players out on frees ok? I say we are doing just that by offering Smith and Barton out on such deals. Get it?

The net result is that squad places are freed up.

Its really not that hard to grasp. Essentially your saying the board won’t do something when, very publicly in fact, they are doing exactly what you say they aren’t 😕

  30. Ashley took us down In my opinion. He undermined Keegan which in turn left us with JFK. When that didn’t work out he panicked and hoped Shearer could turn things around in 6 games.

  31. If we don’t sign a LB & ST by the end of the window I’ll be gutted, we knew we wouldn’t get the money, the annoying thing is Pardew has lied to us regarding this. We don’t have the intention of paying decent money for a striker, we tried to get Erding on the cheap and wouldn’t meet the valuation that PSG set, also, one of the most naturally gifted strikers in this country has signed for West Brom in Shane Long and we stood by and let him pass, ridiculous, he has everything it takes to be the future number 9, awesome talent. I think Pardew is going to play one of our midfielders off Ba, possibly Benny Arfa when he returns or even Jonas. He’ll stick with Best and Shola as cover and I think Vuckic will be used a lot more this season if he steers clear of injury which isn’t a bad thing. Anyone else think we’ll get a striker in? Who would you lads realistically come in?

Are you taking pills tonight or just had a hard nights graft?

How can we offload xisco, Barton, Colo, Jose, smith if they don’t want to go?

I’m CLEARLY referring to the likes of Lover and Perch who could be offered for free and there’s a great chance that a club will pay more than the £12k per week they are on.

They won’t offer them on a free because it frees up places in the squad. They do not want to buy unless they get money for a player sold.

Howay fella. Get to bed and wake up fresh.

  34. Bobby – Let me tell you a secret. I’ve fobbed off regular posters on here who all say you should be got rid of, that I should get rid of the cause of so many problems, yet you’re still here.

Not for much longer though. I’ve had enough if your condasending attitude towards people and the thinly veiled digs towards other people. You repeatedly do this, time and time again. You’ve been warned about it, time and time again yet you still can’t grasp making a point without being a **** about it.

Die for me if you wish. I only state my opinions. You’ll still be able to read them of course, and others, even ones who have the same opinion as yourself (please note how Stuart and yourself have a similar view yet he can put his point across without being a *****), it just means you won’t be able to join in.
