Some good news for a change!

Marveaux back in action.
With good news in pretty short supply I thought I’d try and give everyone something positive to think about.

Now it’s nothing major and it’s certainly not about any new signings, nor the departure of players like Alan Smith or Ryan Taylor so don’t get too moist. However there is a bit of good news on the injury front with regard to Shane Ferguson and Sylvain Marveaux.

Ferguson played in a behind closed doors reserve match as he step up his comeback from the ankle injury he suffered in pre-season. He came through unscathed and has been in full traning for just over a week now so I expect that we’ll see him in and around the first team squad sometime soon.

The cynical side of me is wondering if this is why NUFC are dicking about with the Erik Pieters deal???

Another boost is the fact that Sylvain Marveaux played in that game, and did very well by all accounts by scoring one goal and setting up another two. The French summer signing has been struggling for match fitness after spending so long on the sidelines last season, which was compounded when he took a knock during the match against Kansas City meaning that he has been left out ever since as he searches for a level of fitness that will aloow him to feature in the first team.

Will it be enough for him to be included in the squad for the match against the unwashed at the weekend? Maybe. Maybe not. I mean midfield is one position where we are the fine and we have Gabriel Obertan who will be looking for a start after impressing in his debut at the weekend.

So there you go – good news. It’s probably not the good news you all wanted but thank heavens for small mercies eh?

Now, where is that kick in the bollocks that usually accompanies good news?

  1. Oh if there was a God I’d pray to him for a left back and as many strikers as he/she can spare!

  3. Really disapponited that this article/page is bringing ryan taylor down.. He’s a quality player that deserves a chance back on the pitch.. In which he is a player that can play anywhere along the back and middle!!!

  4. the top and bottom of all this is that fatty dose not want to spend the money on football players he wants his money back that he put into our club first and for most
next he wants to expand his shops into europe hoping that having them over there will sell more shirts etc
the only money he spends is when he is out gambleing or buying indian food for him and is mates from a certain resturant in whitley bay and flying off to the west indies from newcastle airport in his private jet (fact)
this man for all his money has a plan (just we dont like it) and i hope and pray it comes off (just would be nice if he would let us in on it) so to round it off we just have to put up with all that is going on and get behind our great football team

  5. The biggest problem we face now and i doubt many will read this thread much more is that we dont have the repalacements for the 1st team injuries. I mean in quantity or quality so this season will take its toll on us for certain through attrition before, suspensions and all.
