A very early 12pm kick-off will signal yet another instalment of the big one round these parts. The Tyne-Wear derby is upon us once again.
Of course much of the pressure to get a result is on Sunderland. In their own words they are “light years” ahead of us, much like they were last season when they gained just a solitary point from the two meetings between the two sides. Froth and foam will be in copious supply at the Stadium of Light this afternoon as the locals desperately scrabble for some kind of payback for the embarrassment and lessons dished out by the boys in black and white last season.
Of course Newcastle aren’t without pressure of their own. I have a feeling that a negative result will see tensions boil over as a result of what has been a frustrating and tense transfer window thus far. A loss at Sunderland will give some the excuse they have been waiting for to let rip and we could see some real signs of unrest starting to come to the surface more than what they already are.
It’s finely poised if you ask me. The bookies can’t separate the two sides and you can get much the same price for a Sunderland win, Newcastle win, or a draw. Neither side look to be prolific in front of goal and both sides have new players that are still adjusting to life at their new club. Let’s hope our boys can adjust quicker than those lot. Keep it tight for half hour, shut their gurning rabble of a fanbase up, and take it from there.
It will be a full house, but remember they only come to see United!

Have a look below for team news. If the substitutes aren’t named just bear with us as sometimes it can take a bit longer to track them down. They matchday 18 will be there for both sides as son as I can get my paws on it.
In terms of streams there are plenty knocking about by the looks of it so I’m quite optimistic about being able to view the match online. In fact a quick look at MyP2P website shows that there are plenty to pick and choose from. Combine that with other sites and I’d say we’ll be fine for viewing it. I’d still rather be at the game though…
That is just about it really. Let’s hope we can come away from the Village of the Damned with at least a point to show for our efforts. Taking a point off them in their own back yard would easily hand us the early season bragging right ahead of the reprisal at St James’ Park early next year. Nothing less than 100% effort, application and dedication will do!

Jersey I’m gona be less friendly:
Krul – 7.5 solid game, no special saves but always in the right place.
Simmo- 5 did ok defensively but kicks the ball away soon as he gets it
Saylor- 6 looks out of sorts the first 20mins but came right at the end
Colo- 8.5 another great display from our Captain in defense
Raylor- 7 gets extra points for a terrific freekick which swayed momentum
Obertan- 6 very poor first half, but did a lot of running second half and held the ball up well, he shouldn’t be dribbling 1-0 up so did the right thing.
Barton- 5 for me was bad today, passing terribly off
Tiote- 4 shocking first 60 minutes, looked terrible and caught in possession for dwelling on the ball, but last 20minutes came right.
Cabaye- 7 for me, he did the work Joey and Tiote didn’t in the middle, and impressed me. Ok he didn’t set up three, but he was great in defense.
Jonas- 9 great game helping out Raylor and our best link from defense to attack, also set up the goal, and frustrated to Scum players no end.
Shola- 7 decent game for Shola, as usual against the Scum. So we should drop him till we meet at St James now. 😉
Gosling: 6 looked lively as he should only getting 10 minutes.

Well deserved, thought collo and Taylor never put a foot wrong, Stolla was a constant pain in the **** for their defence and worked his socks off. All in all the scum huffed and puffed and should have went in 1-0 down, 2nd we showed we can play a bit and should have ended the game 3-0 winners. Mackems now calling Bruce useless how 95 minutes has changed everyone’s mood. HWTL

Funkyjesus-he got sent off because the rest of the team were putting in so little effort and he was told out there to go and grab the game by the scruff of the neck. He did, and was pretty unlucky to get sent off. First half today he looked clumsy, but he put in some solid tackles in the second half, thought he improved a fair bit, should be fully fit next week

I am sorry but I think the excitement of the win has distorted your analysis of the game and has you saying Cabaye played well. He went missing for long spells in the game and had no influence what so ever. I suggest you watch the game.
The 3 best players today were Jonas, Shola and colo. The defence is also something to note have played very well in the two games I have seen and look assured
Poor players today: Tiote, Cabaye, Orberton.
I am very pleased with the result but the problem I noted was that we did not create any meaningful chances save Gosling’s at the end. There was no creativity anywhere even if we had a very good finisher like a Van Nistelrooy, Ronaldo (Brazilian) there were no chances created for anyone to finish off that is my fear this season. We have a few players to feature like Ben Arfa etc… but I cannot see any creativity and as such goals.
