Where is Alan Pardew?

Pardew speaks again...
Come out come out wherever you are.
Rumours can be great things can’t they? I use the word great in a sarcastic way of course.

They have a knack of being able to destabilise things and can quickly get out of hand if people start listening to them. Nine times out of ten I dismiss them out of hand, but on the odd occasion there tends to be something in them.

At this moment in time there are a lot of rumours circulating about the future of Alan Pardew. Some rumours claim that Pardew is mightily pissed off with the incompetent buffoons above him and has walked out of his job as a result while others claim that he and Llambias have merely had a rather sizeable disagreement.

Quite simply I don’t know what is going on, but it seems pretty clear to me that something is. Has anybody seen anything of Alan Pardew? Has anybody heard anything from Alan Pardew? The stony silence coming from a manager who is usually full of a few words is starting to concern me in all honesty.

I think most people are aware that Alan Pardew has also been led along the garden path. The recent statement released from the club hinted as much whilst Pardew himself has been very quick and vocal to reveal that he just recommends players to the money men who then try, and seemingly fail, to cut a deal.

The board were looking for the perfect deal. They were looking for a Cheik Tiote of the striker world where they could get a good player really cheaply. Sometimes it just doesn’t work like that however and you need to pay the going rate. This is why we didn’t get that extra striker that Alan Pardew wanted.

There has been some unusual stuff going on at St James’ Park over the last few days. First off we had some form of loose statement from Derek Llambias telling us how he’d tried to sign a striker, which is odd in fairness as we never ever hear anything from him. Why now all of a sudden?

The other one, as highlighted earlier, is the disappearance of Alan Pardew. He is not one to shy away from the media and he was sharp out and about after the January transfer window. Where is he this time though?

I really sincerely hope that this is just all a product of my, at times, over active imagination although I wouldn’t blame him one bit of he did decide to throw in the towel. It would be disastrous for NUFC if he did though as he is doing a fairly good job thus far. Results have been decent without being outstanding and there is the basis of a new team in place that needs continuity to bed in so for that reason it is important that Pardew stays.

Or else we could end up with Joe Kinnear again.

  1. even though i think were playing better footy under pardew i dont beleive for 1 second that he will walk ,he knows whats going on in it with fatty and the other c unt

  2. Big test of Pardews credibility and integrity, he has, unwittingly or not, been part of another transfer fiasco and he cant win.
If he comes out on the side of the board most fans and football folk will turn on him, to do the opposite will be a request for his P45.

  3. ………really wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he’s left us, the shysters at the top just haven’t got a clue, maybe he’s been led along the garden path the same as us the loyal fans 🙁 ………JFK again :-@ ..please foookin ell no :-@

  4. GQ – In all honesty that is who I see replacing Pardew if he walked/got sacked/whatever.

Whoo in their right mind would want to come and work here?

Pardew was not my first choice. In fact he wasn’t in any position in my list of choices, but he has the job and I think he’ll do fine for us. He’ll certainly be better than the likes of JFK.

  5. Have to say, Pardew was never my last choice as manager, let alone first! But to think we have more food for the gutter press is a sickening thought… As a devout supporter of such a beautiful club, I find myself completely disillusioned with everything that’s gone on. No more season ticket, no more excitement at what the future holds, just empty… I will always be a true newcastle fan, but this farce that currently masquerades as a football club is not MY newcastle so unfortunately I find myself writing this to no one, simply to vent my disappointment. I’ve forgotten what I wanted to write now… Off for a cry.

  6. i think he has jacked, really i do. AP loves talking to the press and i have checked it out… he is the only manager in the prem to not have given interviews since the window closed. Nothing, zip.
Just when we were all warming to him aswell.. maybe thats the problem too, ashley and dekka will not want a manager who has the fans on his side, no way. they want the manager to be a hate figure to deflect from them. they thought they had that in AP but then what happened, the fella tried his best, tried to be honest and got us playing better looking footy than CH did. AP started feeling for the fans plight and that also of Joey. Clearly this was not part of Dekka and fattys plans, time to go then i guess….

  7. I don’t think pardew will go yet he’s currently in about the best/high profile job he’d get but he’s a talented manager and i’m sure like our players if he keeps improving us we’ll have someone sniffing around for him soon.

  8. Don’t worry Toonsy he won’t walk,he knows he’s on to a good thing ,and I suspect he new all along what was going on regarding our attempts to bring in a striker. He his just keeping a low profile until things blow over and I wouldn’t be surprised if ashley has told him to keep quiet for a while.

  9. I think the Joey Barton episode plus no striker signed tipped the balance for Pardew. Obviously something has taken place for Lambsarse to come out and make a statement. Pardew has taken the **** for the hierarchy come what may. However, my feelings are he has said enough is enough! I think he has told Ashley this and is spending time reflecting on his future

  10. you could be right batty, in which case i will have to lump him in the same boat as the other two fukwits. Its not the money.. its just the lies and spin. sick of it. i bet we dip below 40k next home game.

I wholeheartedly feel for you, as does every other true fan of our once great club. I say that because we will never get it right again under the Fat Controller and Daddy woodentop..
Every time something else goes tits-up at St James’s, its on my mind for a long time till another tw@-up comes along and we can worry about something else for a day or so. This sodding night mare seems unending at the moment but you never know, he might get hit by a No 45 in the Haymarket with a bit of luck. Chins up Lads, we could be Mackems.!!!!!! HWTL.

Your theory is sound mate, however, there’s nothing in stone ever come out of Newcastle lately so don’t hold yr breath.

  15. yep mick g….. its like i said the other day on a thread.. carroll said a few days ago that liverpool was on a whole different level to newcastle. I agree with him, at ours he was playing games, liked by the fans and in the england team full of praise from capello.. yep, is another level at liverpool for sure, a level up in club yes, but a level down for carroll as he is just the most expensive flop in britsih transfer history as it stands right now.

    What a good friend 🙂

He’s made his bed and now he can fester in it 🙂

  17. Its time to point the finger to the real cause of problem in the club, Llambias is not a suitable person to be in a club. He is a Lawyer from London, has nothing to do with footie, nor is he a lad from the great north. I do think both Pardew and Ashley has been wankered but that lad in the way of info. Pardew has been promised money and Ashley has been promised that the squad is good enough. MR Llambias is just interested in getting the money for himself, selling players and replacing them. Yes the new players have been amazing but that is credit to Carr and nobody else. Just hope that the people around Newcastle get their wits up whats going on…..

      (Quote)

  18. i agree tooney, they can all go and fuk off, nolan, barton, carroll, jose .. all of them. they all need to shut their mouths about newcastle as what goes on here now is none of their business anymore.

      (Quote)

  19. “Andy Carroll has been ordered for a second time to cut out his boozing.”

35mil would have been the deal of the century if we actually knew where the money went.

As for Pardew, sorry Batts, but there is no way he would have stated, “We will 100% not sell Carroll”, and “We will get in a left back and a striker” unless he believed it himself.

I mean, he’s only been here what? Half a season, and maybe now the penny has finally dropped that Lambias and Ashley are liars.

It has taken some fans three years to see that Ashley has been scamming them. If you don’t believe me, look at the comments of the “Is Ashley scamming the fans” article to see how many people believed we would bring the striker in. So many stuck up to say, “there’s still 10 days left” bla bla bla.

Pardew was clearly lied to, to his face, and now he is pissed off at being made to look a fool again. Its not an easy decision for him to stay or go.

Personally, think he will stay, but I think he will leave when the same thing happens in the next transfer window.

      (Quote)

  20. JJ no need too say sorry now ,just wait till after the next window then you can say when pardew is still here haha

      (Quote)

  21. swedish@24… i like your passion mate but you are wrong on a fair few points there fella.
dekka is not lawyer.. he is a casino buddy of fattys.
AP often says he has long conversations with fat boy over what is needed, thus ashley is well aware what Ap wants and thinks.
Dekka cant keep the money for himself can he. The new players have not been amazing at all.. cabaye looks great, the rest, no-one knows yet.

      (Quote)

  22. Don’t see anyone else who could step in and make any differences under the current reign, thus I hope Pardew stays. Actually, it would be a disaster if he walk out. MA might need to ask Sport Interactive to recommand potential managers in that case.

      (Quote)

  23. JJ I might be being unfair to Pardew but I think he will say whatever he his told to say by llambarse and ashley,as Batty subtley put it @13 they are all pi$$ing in the same pot.Having said that it would be a massive blow to the club if he left now,but I would bet my left ******* he won’t.

      (Quote)

  24. Ye, agree with you Craig.

    The new players are amazing…

Tiote has been great… but everyone raving about Ben Arfa? He’s had ONE good game in a year!!! So far he’s got to be considered a flop, not his fault but still…

As for it being Carr’s wonder work… why when a player comes off is it Carr is wonderful this and that, yet when a player flops… its the managers fault???

      (Quote)

  25. Never thought i would say this but i hope he hasn’t left. I was never jumping for joy when he was appointed, but pardew is slowly winning me over. In the last two weeks he has been making comments about the board to make me think hes not fully in with them as we speak or that he has turned due to the geordie passion. Either way this silence is worrying.

“Tiote has been great… but everyone raving about Ben Arfa? He’s had ONE good game in a year!!! So far he’s got to be considered a flop, not his fault but still…”

Why must he be considered a flop? Why not reserve judgement until he actually gets back playing which won’t be long by all accounts.

So pleased that our “fans” are so quick to write someone off after two appearance, a double leg-break and somebody raking their leg down his ankle ligaments….

      (Quote)

  27. JJ.. .carr didnt even find naffing tiote did he…. his mate mclaren rang him up when he was at fc twente and told him to get his **** over and check him out. thats how we got toite in out the blue.

      (Quote)

  28. i see shearer has just said AP doing a great job.. ffs…. that will be him sacked (if has has not walked) then as lord forbid a geordie legend that starts liking the nufc manager.. not part of dekka and ashleys plans!

      (Quote)

  29. I don’t think Pards is part of the problem, I do believe that he thought he would get the Striker that he was promised.
You could see a notable change in the last week of the window, and if he was in on it all along there was things that wouldn’t have happened or been said.
And if he was part of it he would have been wheeled out after the window to tell us what went wrong instead of the club having to issue a statment, it just doesn’t make sense.

      (Quote)

  30. Toonsy

Perhaps I should have worded that, Ben Arfa has been a flop to date.
Like I said, its not his fault as the injuries couldn’t be helped but then you could say Woodgate wasn’t a flop at Real Madrid, because he never got to prove himself…
Not saying he won’t come good, but it bugs me when everyone is calling him our best player after one good performance in a year. In fact I don’t think he can possibly live up to the hype people have set for him…

That doesn’t mean I’m not a fan… just that we can only judge players on what we’ve seen. Ben Arfa is a great talent, so is Santon, but both are still to prove themselves.

As for these super buys that Graham Carr has made? Who are they exactly? Because for me, he couldn’t even find a striker in 8 months, because they either weren’t interested or too expensive. Surely that is an important part of scouting, actually finding out if the player would be interested or if we can afford their value?

      (Quote)

  31. JJ – How has Ben Arfa been anything to date? that s my point. He’s neither been a flop nor a success as he hasn’t had any real run of games to do so. rather than branding him a flop it would be best to say nothing.

      (Quote)

  32. Toonsy

I would agree that he would have been nothing, had he been free and on cheap wages.

But for a six million investment, on say 40k a week. We’ve had him for a year and a half, he’s cost us around 3mil in wages so thats close to 10million pounds investment!

To get nothing out of a ten million pound investment in over a year is IMO a flop to date.

Usually I agree with you, but on this matter I guess we not going to.

I look forward to him coming back, but I think he’s under massive pressure to perform as our best player, because of the way he’s been hyped up. Its not really fair on him.
Not writing him off at all, but to date, he has done nothing and cost us a lot on money.

  35. Mind you, I did hear a rumour that Ruiz looked likely to get on the helicopter so they moved it away and told everyone they had to 😆

      (Quote)

  36. Also with regard to the Pieters offer…

When his club’s chairman said we had never even made an offer, I wonder if we actually ever did.
I still havn’t heard any confirmation from the FC Twente Club that we actually made an offer for Ruiz.

All smoke and mirrors. I think Troy/Bobby was right. They never ever had any intention of buying a replacement, as in their minds, Ba IS the Carroll replacement. And if you look and the books. We are sitting pretty on 35mil profit on transfers which has pretty much disappeared into a black hole.

      (Quote)

  37. I think it’s pretty obvious he’s utterly pissed off, why wouldn’t he be? The problem for him is that even if the board tell him they will be in January will he believe them?

The other problem is of course that every club in the world knows we are now desperate for a striker and the club is under pressure to buy one. What effect is that going to have on the striker hunt? Values will go up, there already over priced in January as it is. I actually don’t see us signing a striker in January too becuase of this reason. It’s a vicious circle and this summer’s debacle will come back to haunt us in more than one way.

      (Quote)

  38. Well I really cant see Pards coming out and saying that Lambsarse fuked the deal up otherwise we will be welcoming JFK back,
So I for one will understand if he uses any of them excuses, because there is fuk all else he can say if he wants to keep his job.

      (Quote)

  39. @51 agree Dave

He is in a no win situation.

I also cannot understand why there is this massive push for communication between the supporters and the board.
If they communicated with you, would you believe anything they told you? So what is the point. It’ll just be more lies and false promises.

Lambias is a joke of a man, and the only way Ashley could ever get some sort of a relationship back with the fans, is if he sacked him. But he won’t because he’s done a great job of making Ashley his money back.

      (Quote)

  40. Dave @ 51 – Agree. People who expect anything else bang on about “realsim” butto expect anything is far from realistic in my opinion. They only want it to happen as it will appease them.

Just because Pardew may come out with the public line it doesn’t mean that words haven’t been exchanged behind closed doors. The biggest clue pointing towards that is that statement. **** as it was, it’s not been done before. Why now?

      (Quote)

  41. I really cant see pardew walking but feel sorry fot the lad; he has 7/9 points so far you would think he would be supported by getting a striker in that he has needed since jan.

Pardew is turning into hughton; his pedigree is growing for managing the club in such trying circumstances

      (Quote)

  42. dave well if what your saying is true the surely if pardew was any sort of a man he should say ive had enough of the lairs mikey boy iam off ?? but that aint gonna happen ,and by the way i do think pardew is doing a decent job .

      (Quote)

  43. Batty you say thats what he should do, but do you want him to do that ?.
I really hope he doesn’t because I think we will be worse of than we ever have been under the Fatman.

      (Quote)

  44. Batty – Is that the only way is it? For him to say go bollocks? Do people think that just because Keegan couldn’t hack it that nobody else can? There is such a thing as just getting on with it and learning lessons along the way 😉

  47. Batty – It depends. I mean I’ve lived with false promises from bosses above me. I’d say most of us have in fairness.

In that sense it’s different to say if your mrs was lying to you and so on.

  49. It’s not true to say that AP is the only manager not to have made a statement after closure of the transfer window; Steve Bruce, for one has not been seen on the local news talking about Bendtner.
I believe that Pardew is seething, but we shouldn’t read anything into his non-appearance.

      (Quote)

  50. Batty he has only been here for 6 -7 months so he doesn’t know the **** we know, and he probably trusted that they would back him.
Well imo he has learned a valuable lesson.
I agreed that KK was in the right for throwing the head up and i think Pards would be in the right aswell, but just as I did with KK I hope Pards doesn’t walk.
But either way I cant see him winning as some have made up their mind allreadyas i said if he stays because he wants a chance to prove himself with the squad we have he’s a puppet, if he walks he has droppdd us in the ****, and in that case I would love to take a break from footie until JFK is away.
