Game on! Wolves v Newcastle – Toon unchanged, Santon on bench

Toon head to Molineux
Welcome one and all to our fabulous ‘Game On’ match article which this week will take us through every twist and turn of the match at Wolves.

After this game we head into yet another pointless and frustrating international break so it’s important that we get a good result to send us away happy. To me a good result includes anything from a draw upwards.

the match preview is here should you wish to have another read of it. It features likely team line-ups, injury news for both sides as well as some rather interesting stats and facts regarding the match today and matches previously between the two sides.

In terms of TV coverage, being a 3pm kick-off means that the majority of the world will be able to watch it on nice TV’s whilst us here in the UK will have to try and settle for a dodgy internet stream. Still, it’s one of those things, but if you manage to find a decent dodgy internet stream then please share it with the rest of the lads and lasses on NUFC Blog .

Team news is featured below which just just about wraps this short and sweet article up. One final thing though, we have a running from a new server so I could do with this article staying busy with lots of comments and such. Call it stress testing if you like, but lets see what it can do. Fingers crossed we’ll be online a lot more from now on.

Howay the lads!

  1. By the sounds of, Wolves should have had a penalty and they had a goal disallowed. Not ideal.

  2. fuk wolves and the decisions that went against them 😆
    Howay the Lads 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆

  3. Christ that was lucky, least we got three points but we stood off way too much in the second half. Might be a natural reaction but we need to sort this stuff out, we can’t hold our leads when we’re getting hammered like that despite our good defense.

  4. So the Manchester clubs continue match each other stride for stride, with United heading City at the top of the table by one goal. Newcastle are up to third and Villa remain unbeaten.

    😉 😉

  5. Really poor performance second half but what can you say? They still delivered the points.

  6. Despite a bad 2nd half display against a determined Wolves, we have claimed a great 3 ponts away from home (partially thanks to a referee mistakingly giving key decisions in our favor). The boys are doing well. It was never going to be a stroll in the park at their place, so that has to go down as a great result. Well done boys. 😎

  7. garbage 2nd half performance – seemed to be mentally settling for 2-0 far too early and Pardew didnt make the most of his bench resources

  8. Terrible in the second half, like the players were already on international break. I can’t remember us keeping possession for longer than five minutes.
But 2-1 and an away win which is very pleasing.

  9. HWTL!!!! We’re beating the teams that we need to beat, and that’s just mint!! Not so worried about when we have to play the Mancs or Chelski now. I think we can beat anyone on our day with this squad, but how much longer will it be our day?

  10. i’m just dissappointed that we never stayed at 2-0 as I hate getting predictions wrong 😀 .
But we got the 3 pts to make it worthwhile 😉

  11. 3rd in the league and unbeaten…we surely will lose against spurs right?i cant handle all this excitement

  12. the reason that wolves were treated harshly by the ref was because they spent the first 20 minutes kicking the **** out of everyone

those two penalties should have been penalties, but the real injustice against wolves is that they are a violent team who can’t score from open play

  13. I love Mark Halsey.

We got away with that one big time but I don’t really care. They’ll feel injustice no doubt, but so did I when I left there last season. Funny how things even themselves up isn’t it?

  14. Looks Like newcastle love breaking record. Finally ended the jinx and a register a first top-flight success at Molineux in fifteen attempts.

  15. Yes Lads. First win down there since 1958.
    Get in you beauties.
    Wooooo Hoooooo.

  16. Very, very lucky. Last season we would have lost this.

This might persuade Pards to make some changes to the team after the break. We totally lost our grip on the game after half time, a lot of complacency happening there…

  17. You have to go back to September 1958 and a 3-1 victory courtesy of goals from Len White (2) and Arthur Bottom for the last time that maximum points were earned.

Wheee…Ended the hoodo at last. 😈

  18. Never mind Big Dave – mind you I predicted 2-1 to us on thread this morning – had Ba and Cabaye to score – wow 3rd

  19. its good that we are playing badly 2nd half..at least the pessimist will have something to talk about 😀

  20. Its funny how the luck goes to the inform team.
We have been on the receiving end more than most.
Now its our turn. Just enjoy it while it lasts.
Anyway, its more their bad luck than our good luck.
    **** em all.

  21. 3 points 3rd in the league. think most of us would of settled for that at the start of the day! Sounds like we were poor second half but we are not going to have it our own way all of the time. Fair play to the lads for gettin 3points today

  22. Its easy to pick holes in the performance but bollocks to that, what a result, Mick McMackems face at the end was a picture, two great goals and the whole team worked their nuts off.

  23. Damned filthy scum scraped a draw.
They will be well pleased with that.
You’re doing a great job Mr Bruce, carry on. 😆

  24. After 50 years of bad luck I’m not going to dwell on a few games of fortune this season. We won 2-1. We are 3rd. I’m going to bed happy.

  25. and a quick word for our defending too – some great last-ditch stuff from both Taylors and Simpson too… not 2 mention our young Dutch colossus in net

  31. Got away with that one!

Having said that we should have finished the game off before the last five mins.

“Seriously though, what a keeper, better than Given in my eyes.”

Never in a million years. Great keeper with potential for it, but ten games or whatever doesn’t outdo ten years of consistent service.

  36. quote from the BBC :
“Young Dutch keeper Tim Krul saw his value rocket up with a sensational display.

He dived low to stop O’Hara’s free-kick from swinging in before twice saving from Doyle. But his Hollywood moment came in the second half when his double save denied Fletcher and Hammill.”

It could be difficult for us to keep this Lad if he keeps putting in performances like this. 👿

      (Quote)

  37. DJG – I agree. POTENTIALLY he could be, but I won’t tag him with being better than Given just yet 😉

  38. Get in. The under 18’s won today again too.
    4-0 against the scum 😆 😆
    Young Hooper scored again

Sorry if this is old news, I just found out 😆
