Game on! Newcastle v Everton

Nigh on a full house?
It’s seems strange to start one of these articles off with a ‘good morning’ but then again it’s not often we have an early start.

So in that sense it’s good morning and welcome to the match article which will take us all through every twist and turn of the Everton game.

A 12:45 kick-off has not put off a crowd that is expected to soar above 50,000 for the first time this season. That little feat is made all the more impressive when you consider that this early kick-off is on Sky TV here in the UK. Generally speaking an early kick-off plus a game being televised results in a dip in attendance, but not this time thanks in part to the rather decent offer of half price season tickets and in part thanks to the performance of the team.

Speaking of team performance, a win against David Moyes’ side will see us move into 2nd place in the Premier League for a couple of hours at least. With Manchester United playing the tramps from down the road at Old Trafford at 3pm you would have to say that should we rise to the loftier heights of 2nd then it will only be for a couple of hours and we’ll just have to settle for 3rd place as we head into the international break.

In terms of previewing the game,Shamrock has penned a most excellent match preview which you can view here. It’s full of useful stats and analysis which you can peruse at your leisure. You can also have a look at the Zoe’s take on how to beat Everton in her article here.

As for the match itself, as mentioned earlier it is on TV which in turn should mean that there are plenty of streams available for those who aren’t going to be at the game or don’t subscribe to Sky. The key word in that last sentence though is “should” as there is always a chance that the ones that do show up are a bit, well, pony.

That just about wraps this up really as we’re mainly here for the match. Can we make it 11 league games unbeaten this season and head into the international break with an even bigger spring in our step? You never know…

  5. Guthrie was MOM for me….need to get this lad’s contract sorted as it is up in the summer 😯

  6. 3hrs the only problem is will he sign one, because I think that as soon as Tiote is back Guthrie will be back out in the cold.
I have said all along that the kid has more to offer than warming a bench for 90% of his career 😕
Ice yeah he looks a good player but likes to think he is a bit of a hard nut

  7. The bonfire on my front lawn is massive like.

I knew the settee I threw oot on the lawn last year would come in handy.

I cannit wait til the gas bottles explode. They reckon they make a canny bang like. 😯

  8. Has he been offered a contract Dave? Hopefully we will keep him. Tiote will be away in the ACN and on his recent performances he would be unlucky to be dropped. Plenty more game time for the lad I think

  9. Troy yeah they do make a wee bang and it’s a good laugh 😀
3hrs I havn’t heard owt about one being offered, I feel sorry for the lad because he never got picked before because there was more senior players getting the nod, even though I thought he gave more to the overall game.
Now he cant get a game because we have Tiote and Cabaye, but IMO as soon as their back I think he will be on the bench

  10. Aye you might be right Dave though Pardew seems to work on the principle if you are performing and the team are getting results you stay in the team so on that basis Tiote/Cabaye would need to wait. Hope this is the case…Liverpool used to do it in the 70’s and 80’s – players would play through the pain barrier because they knew they might not get back in. In any event I hope the club manage to strike a deal with him he has been excellent.

  11. All right boys and girls. I’m a bit late on the blog cos we’ve been out giving it lowdy…but….. Don’t listen to ANY of the media…the toon were WELL WORTH our win today. We bossed Everton big time in the first half until our midfield got decimated with injuries…a midfield mssing our main man Cheik Tiote by the way, and Obertan, then losing Cabaye….that’s some tough injuty list…!. With Tiote, Obertan etc in the side Everton wouldn’t have got a look in.

Man we were good today, what a performance !! So proud today….

    Howay the lads !!!!!!

  12. We are so unlucky Kompany returns for our game. Savic was **** poor today. He looks an awful defender. Ba and Best would have given him a nightmare.

  13. Nobby @ 279 Sorry but I don’t agree with your assessment of Gutierrez, he looked knackered the majority of the matcj and a yard off his usual pace. And not really surprised after the shift he put in at the start of the week.

  14. Well
    first of all

I couldn’t even see his face.
    I couldn’t see his face.
He was holding a gun in his hand.
    Umm… I was thinking…
    This is a dangerous place..
    This is a dangerous place..

    I said
I’m nervous as hell from this stuff.I thought those guys were going to kill me for sure. They ganged up on me like that.I couldn’t believe it.Look, I’m still shakin’.Weird.There out in the streets like that. It’s a dangerous place. It’s a dangerous place.

    So
    suddenly
these two guys appear in front of me.
    They stopped.
    Real aggressive.
    Start at me
    you know.
    What’s that?
    What’s that on that tape?
    What do you got there?”
    I said
    huh?
    They said
What are you talking into that for?
    I said
It’s just a tape, you know
    Well play it for me
    I said “oh
    no”
I put it off as long as I could.
And finally they turned it on
    { From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/k/king-crimson-lyrics/thela-hun-ginjeet-lyrics.html }
    you know
    They grabbed it from me.
    Took it away from me.
    Turned it on.
    And it said
He held a gun in his hand. This is a dangerous place.
    They said
    What dangerous place?
    What gun?
    You’re a policeman!
    And the deeper I talked
the worse I got into it.
    I talked
    I told him… I said

    Look man, I’m not talkin’….
    It went on forever.
    Anyway
    I finally unbuttoned my shirt
    and said

look, look… I’m in this band, you know, I’m in this band you know, and we’re makin’ a recording, you know. It’s about New York City, it’s about crime in the streets…
    The explanation was going nowhere
    but

    Finally
they just kinda let me go
    I don’t know why.
So I walk around the corner

and I’m like shakin’ like a leaf

    and I thought
    This is a dangerous place

    Who should appear
    but two policeman.

    Obertan probably
But I think the international break may allow marv/cabaye to get some R&R time

along with Jonas, he looked shattered yesterday

great team effort: and what about raylors goal. sweet

  19. we have so much depth in midfield 😆
we don’t need any reinforcements in midfield 😆

seriously we are lucky it’s the international break and will probably have Tiote back. Still hope we pick up Barnetta in January.
