  1. I thought his cross that hit the bar was going in aswell 😆

These highlights fail to show just how hard Best works.

  2. Toonsy…the hard work that the front men put in have been imperitive to the toons success so far, and Besty has played his part admirably.. Defending from the front line, Ian Rush was an expert at this.
Once we have to change to only one front man, maybe due to injuries, then I fear we may not be so effective. Hopefully Shola is also back in the frame soon to give us more strength in depth.

Howay the lads….you can see Raylor really wanted to go radged when his goal went in…even a couple of rugby tackles on him couldn’t keep the bloke down… 😆 😆

  3. yeh, i’d like to know how cabs/marv doin. . also someone reckoned that tiote was nearly ready to come back – anyone got something official ?

  4. Cabaye is joining up with the French team and their medics will assess it. No idea about Marveaux as of yet. At least there’s an international break next week!

  5. TOONSY mail 🙁

wasnt marv out for nearly a season with a groin problem? hope its not the same area of the groin 🙁

well i thought we just about good for that win if only for the second half display in defence imo

  6. I dont think Cabaye will be serious. Marveux is a different worry as he is injury prone.

From the last thread, yeah Sammeobi is still too raw to start and we would be in a pickle if he had to, but he has a load of potential and we should be pleased Chelski want him! He wont go though is my point, Pards said the other week how grounded the Ameobi’s were as a family. Very much the thing Ranger is missing out on and frankly MM perhaps it wouldnt be the worst thing for him to go and stay with them.

Vuckic is a great prospect too, and Abeid is earmarked for the Tiote role for the ACN. All in all we have some great prospects, which is all they are at the moment, that will be great for us in 2-3 years. We need to buy in Jan and the summer, only a couple here and there, to get us through that time until these guys can really come in and take over

  7. given the recent calls for marv’s inclusion what did he do before he limped off as he isn’t in any of the highlights I’ve seen ??

as for Sammi starting I agree he isn’t ideal, but if Obertan & marv are out he’s next in line, otherwise he would not have been on the bench yesterday

  8. Raffo…regarding January and our supposed big hitters being missing for the ANC. A few weeks back I touched on the same subject, and to be honest the majority of our games in January are really winnable, even without our ANC players (Ba and Tiote…perhaps Maiga…)…..
Once we beat Man U at home on 4th of Jan we have QPR (H), Fulham (A), Blackburn (A) and Villa at home…

We have a Tiote replacement for January…Guthrie, and at a push Gosling. I also reckon Abeid is a little further down the pecking order, this is perhaps Pardew trying to big the lad up to keep him on his toes..

  9. Cabaye seemed to leave the field injured yesterday with a kind of smile on his face, hopefully he isn’t too bad. Marv on the other hand seemed pretty miffed…hope his injury isn’t too serious like.. 😥

  10. Premandup…I reckon Sammy could be a good replacement for Obertan on the right wing. He puts a shift in defensively, and could be quiet mean cutting inside onto his left foot to let loose when attacking. Not quite vsure what Danny Simpson would make of all this like…I’m not trying to get too carried away like.. 😳

  11. MM the toon need to move quick to give guthrie a new contract from what i saw y/day,hes in his last year now

  12. Icedog….two players hovering in the “Enrique zone”…Collo and Guthrie. We need to get them both signed up. I reckon Collo is a lot easier to get sorted than Guthrie, cos the lad knows that once Mr T and dreamboat are both fit Guthers will only have a bit part to play, and it’s a question of whether the lad will be happy with that. Hoying a bucket load of spondoolicks at him, plus playing Champions League football 😉 may persuade him to stay though, but I fear he could run down his contract and leave for nowt…which of course is his perogative. When called upon the lad has always given it his best shot, especially yesterday again he looked really good until the midfield became decimated..

  13. Well their is always Lovenkrands to call on if these injurys are not cleared up before the next games . I know he is not everyones favorite including Pardew , but given a chance , he could do a decent job knowing he needs to put himself in the shop window for the January sales . Say the last 20/25 minutes to replace Ba if we have to go to 1 up front with Best injured .Cant see Ranger in a black and White shirt again and we dont have much else to bring on at the minute . Still think we will give the manchester’s a couple of hard games though .

  14. MUNICH MAG if Guthrie keeps playing the way he has the last couple of games i don’t think Pardew would drop him when Mr T and Cabaye are fit . Pardew has said who has the shirt keeps it and will so untill form decides otherwise . Just look at the Keeper situation to see he means it .

  15. Prem – I thought Marv did well considering it was his full debut. He tracked back and looked good going forward. All in all I was quite impressed by him 🙂

  16. Axel…good point mate. Pardew picking Guthers more often will really push him into making a contract decision in favour of the toon. Though it’ll be tough for Pardew to leave out Tiote and Dreamboat once they return from injury, but it’ll be interesting to see how Pardew handles it. As you say he did that with the goalies, Krul won the shirt…and rightly so imo.

Is Parker at Spurs SO MUCH a better midfielder than Guthrie ?….and he plays for England… 😉 …interesting toon times ahead. Guthrie…from zero to hero in a month, although anyone who knows owt about football can see Guthrie has it in him..ditto Obertan…

  17. i thought marv was un-lucky he got little of the ball and a few times he moved into the centre looking to get more into the game,he wasnt used enough for the time he was on the pitch imo

  18. Ice…Marv looks a great player, I hope he is robust enough for the Prem…until he plays 10 or so games in a row we’ll all tend to have doubts about his overall fitness. But the lad looks a class act for sure

  19. MUNICH MAG if you compare Guthrie to Parker i would say Guthrie is the better player , he has a better pass on him and better vision . Parker has energie and gets stuck in and wins the battles but that is all . I have always thought Guthrie was a better player than he is given credit for and Keegan (not wise) rated him enough to buy him and play him in his real position CM.

  22. what did i say before the season started. will be a top8. team and if i am correct(if we loose the next 3 games and all the teams below us win… we will still be 7th and thats where we will end up end of the year), i also noticed that how good cable is, as soon as he left the field we were old NUFC looked shakey and lost the ball and was defending the game all the way. am sure gutri n gosl will improve as they play more games together. but we need the 2 dutch men to come in during ACN time…. I think if obrt n marv are not ready for manc game… we will see santos at RM helping simo on the way and he is due for a showcase…. lets enjoy the IB now and can someone put the last 11 games on highlights and post here… how good we have been since our summer troubles. long may it continue… we were bit lucky.. it was our midfield that was injured and not the backline… dont wanna think of it. geez
