Game On! Newcastle v Manchester United

Howay the lads!
Welcome one and all to this evenings game against Manchester United hosted at St James’ Park.

It’s always a tough ask to beat Manchester United but, as ever, fans will be hopeful of causing an upset in front of a packed out St James’ Park.

The Sky TV cameras are in town tonight and will be broadcasting the match around the globe, which is great if you’re going to the pub or sitting at home watching on Sky, but not so great if you can’t do either. Luckily these days all you need is an internet connection, which you probably have if you’re reading this! Fortunately the chances of catching a stream this evening are pretty high.

For a preview of the match why not peruse my match preview which you can do by clicking here or if you’re more of a numbers guy or gal why not take a look at NUFC stats statistical preview of the match by clicking here.

There isn’t too much else for me to add really that hasn’t already been said. Now it’s over to the most important part – the match. Team news will appear below as and when it becomes available and hopefully we’ll be naming a winning team against the Red Devils. We’ll see!

Howay the lads!

  1. Sorry but I disagree – time to sack Pardew. Any decent manager would have at least won us the the FA league cup by now!

  2. It is still cool to be on the reality train (bullshit bus) or is that only when we’re losing?

  5. Toon Chicken, I’ve taken it upon myself to create a new mode of Toonacular transport, it’s called the ‘Zillabus’!

All that we stand for is realism, backed up by optimism.

…although I’m a season ticket holder on the reality train, a merger has just been brokered through my agent.

Expect a new mode of transport.

  7. Colo, Tiote, Ba, Cabaye … ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING.
Everyone had a great game, save for Shola. They’re singing his praises on MOTD, but his lack of effort when everyone is dying for the cause drives me bonkers. I’ve never been more pleased to see Bestie. Credit again to Pards.

  8. Rodz – Mr B and Mr B are happy on the reality rollercoaster, mate, where the slogans read: “Rome wasn’t built in a day”; “Show some patience”; and “Hang onto your hats and scarves” “At the top of the loop, gob doon on the Mackems”

  9. Shola put in a good shift today.

Held the ball up as good as anyone.

    Thank heavens, for Demba Ba.

  17. Aye toon chicken you are so sweet x but you are not the mayor and I celebrated well into the night , anyway beating man u once in 10 years doesent derail the reality train !
Ie when demba and tiote are away !! And will we keep these game winning players !
B&B , I have a huge dislike to sholas lack of ability and 49 prem goals in 12 years backs that up but credit were it is due he did well yesterday esp with flick ons to Ba .
Now we have the virgin money will we have 16 mill instead of 8 ! Lamearse said “the fans want players , that will buy a player ” or is the 8 mill the virgin money and fatty isn’t spending a bean again I wonder ! Wooo wooo
    Krull 6 did nowt
    Santon 7
    Simpson 7
    Colo 9
    Willo 7
    Rtaylor 6
    Spidey 7
    Tiote 7
    Cabaye 8
    Shola 7
    Ba 9

      (Quote)

  18. Keith@503, Krull 6 did nowt? Bit harsh, he handled the ball well and bravely went to the feet of their forwards for a good take, best keeper in the league for me and one of our big 4 players.

      (Quote)

  19. Krul did nowt because he didn’t have a great deal to do. What he did do he did with minimal fuss. I’d expect his rating to be boosted by grabbing an assist though 😉

      (Quote)

  20. Just thinking toonsey this deal has obviously been in the planning for a while so it would not surprise me if our transfer money approx 8 mill is from that deal !

      (Quote)

  21. Ok krul can have an 8 ha wasent slagging him quite the opposite we dominated so he had little to do 😯

      (Quote)

  22. I think Rodders has to get some praise cause he gave our Lads a team talk, as Pards heard they were legendary.
Toonsy whats that about the £8mil virgin money ?

      (Quote)

  23. Id go with this

    Krul: 7
    Santon: 7.5
    Colo: 9
    Willo: 8
    Simpson: 8.5
    Raylor: 6.5
    Cabaye: 9
    Tiote: 8
    Jonas: 6.5
Shola: 6.5 because of his assist
    Ba: 9

  24. @keith

I think ur getting the 8-10mill Stadium naming money mixed up with the shirt deal. Dont think we’ll benefit financially from the shirt deal

      (Quote)

  25. Mark….I think they’ll get the rest of this season for what was agreed with NR and the 2 years after that is a new deal and I’d have thought for quite a bit more than the NR deal…..you also generally get a lot more for shirt sponsorship than stadium deals, unless your Citeh of course 😕

      (Quote)

  26. @richietoon

    aye m8, ta

just read the Telegraph thinks it could be worth 20mill 😀

just for the stadium naming now, hopefully
