FA display double standards once again

Ok for Redknapp to talk, but please don't talk about him!
I shouldn’t be surprised, I really shouldn’t. Not as far as the actions of the FA are concerned anyway.

It’s nice to note that the FA have sent a letter to all managers asking them not to discuss the vacant England manager role in the wake of strong speculation linking Harry Redknapp with the job.

The rather hypocritical letter briefs all managers to stay quiet on talk of the vacancy citing the fact that employees of clubs should not be talking about contracted employees of other clubs in public. Tis o course comes after the widespread approval from his counterparts tipping Redknapp for the role.

Hypocrisy or what?

So it was fine for Redknapp himself to talk about employees contracted to other clubs when he referring to Demba Ba in January, but now the boot is on the other foot all of a sudden everyone should keep quiet all of a sudden?

You couldn’t make it up.

This has really annoyed me, but I don’t know why. Perhaps it’s my own fault for expecting the rules the FA have cited to be applied across the board in a fair and correct manner. Silly me.

At the end of the day, if the FA are going to get uppity about something like this then I expect them to do the same in all circumstances which contravene the rule they have decided to reiterate on this occasion, as it suited.

How can they honestly expect to garner respect when two similar things get treat with different approaches?

Postcode bias anyone? Jobs for the boys? Looking after their own?

      (Quote)

  4. was looking on youtube to see if any of benny’s skills were on the showboat reel (missed soccer am this morning) but none of his skills made it on 👿 no justice in the world 😡 ❗ ❗ ❗ ❗

  5. Dave… I hate weekends when we’re not playing 👿
I see there’s been some deleting going on 🙄

  6. Lovin QPR’s league position. And to think some were whinging that we didn’t show their ambition in the summer. 🙄

Will laugh my **** off if Barton is relegated. Wonder if he’ll get snapped up by a Champions League club then? Haha

Even more staggering that some fans think we missed him. Any qualities he has are cancelled out by the poison that oozes from his pores.

      (Quote)

  7. TC no matter what you think we have missed his drive and leadership, because a few times our players went missing and there was no one in the team to stop it happening.
Richie yeah I noticed that 😆 and yeah these weekends are ****

      (Quote)

  8. Hahahahahaha hadaway an ***** man Dave.

Drive and leadership? What, like he showed against West Brom when we threw away a 3 goal lead because he wa more interested in getting a bonus for helping us relegated!!??

He attacks his own players, his manager- he is scum of the earth and we’re well shot and if u can’t see that then you’re dafter than I thought.

  9. I see Worky’s condoning the ripping down of the sports direct signs…I’m assuming the 84 year old woman that was scarred shitless & nearly blinded and her downs syndrome grandson/daughter who struggles coping with big crowds, can’t go on normal match days, so went to a reserve game weren’t his relatives

I think this demonstrates the kind of human being he is…

  10. Now i know RVP is a brilliant player, but to read that Citeh are offering 210k a week to a guy who is 29 going on 30 is crazy the world is gone mad . 😯

  11. Morning all. bloody long weekend this one.
Cant see anything but a defeat on Monday unfortunately, and the games against WBA n Norwich aren’t going to be very easy either as they are both doing so well this season.
The chasing pack are closing the gap on the bindippers  and we are next.
We seem to be languishing in the low 40’s.
Seems most would be happy with a draw on Monday, but that will only be 3 points from the last 12 but will most likely be 2 from 12. This is just not good enough at the business end of the season.
I really hope I’m wrong and the lads play out of their skins and get the win.
We need the confidence boost going into the next run of games, otherwise I can see our season going pear shaped very rapidly.
The filthy slimey scum can do nowt wrong it seems, even with half their team missing. 👿
Pardew needs to pull his finger out and change things round abit.
We need more attacking pace and flair from our midfield. So I hope we play Obertan and HBA from the off. Raylor offers us nothing from midfield and his free kicks and corners lately have been utter gash.
I would like to see a midfield 5 of:
    ……………………………….Tiote
    Obertan…….Cabaye…….. HBA………Jonas
    .
with Ba upfront on his own.
The back 4 picks itself as per usual, but I hope Santon gets his place ahead of Raylor at LB.
Chances of this tho pretty slim, as Pardews love affair with Raylor will probably continue, and HBA will be on the bench. 👿

  13. KimT….it’s crazy, but I suppose in comparative terms of their income to ours it possibly may be a smaller percentage than Colo’s new deal……just guessing though, I have absolutely no facts to back it up 😆

  14. Aye witters, as if he hadn’t done enough to turn people away already 🙄 👿

Kimtoon – true but its the same for anelka and eto’o

  15. Ha ha it sounds like I hate Raylor. I dont, just dont think he is putting in good enough performances to warrant a place in the starting 11.

      (Quote)

  16. TC sometimes you remind me of wanky, can you not put your point across without getting on like an arrogant know it all that is always right, and anyone that doesn’t agree with you should be abused.

      (Quote)

  17. Its true to say we have missed a leader on the park when things have started to go wrong. I wouldn’t have Barton back just for that tho. We are well rid now. But its fair to say Colo is not a good enough leader when we need one.
Actually Steven Taylor kicks *** better. We really miss him imo

  18. BB the season is beginning to slip away from us but we’re still in a good position. I think we’ll lose against arsenal. Would be happy to be wrong of course but can’t see it.
Regardless, i think the next three are big games, we let points slip against wolves and the scum and we need at least 4 if not 6 against WBA and Norwich with are fixtures after that. Then we play pool at st james, and that for me makes or breaks the rest of the campaign

      (Quote)

  19. Just a thought but with the FFP rules ,how can City get around paying such inflated wages ,i mean their income through normal means is surely not going to cover all these big wages and transfer fees. Even if you have a lot for sponsorship, t.v and gate and CL cash it’s bound to end at a certain limit , i don’t see Manure ,Chelsea et al spending quite so big ,so how are they getting around it. 😕

      (Quote)

  20. Dave and BB, agree about that vocal, determined leadership, really missed Saylor. Willo’s been shown up big time the last few weeks. Doyle had him bent over and presenting. Doyles a good player but if we’re challenging for europe he can’t be allowed control one of our cbs for a full 90

      (Quote)

  21. Why does everyone believe the **** about how fantastic 5under1and are doing yet in the same breath say we’re not?….they have 12 points from the last 8 games, even if we get beat tomorrow we’d have 11 from 8…huge difference, if you believe the scum are doing so well then you have to think the same about us, surely?

      (Quote)

  22. TC I can assure you im not a big softie, but while on here I tend to treat people with a bit of respect, I go out of my way to try not to talk down to people even if I dont agree with them.
As for the you’re dafter than I thought type comments I leave that to Wanky and other dickheeds like him. 😉

BB @ 102 spot on mate.

  23. Kim…the owners of city also own etihad (or their relatives do) and etihad have sponsored city to the tune of £400m

  24. Kim – FFP ? dont make me laugh.
Its all a load of tosh.
They got sponsored £400M from etihad airways. A major player in the world of airlines. NOT.

  25. Richiie@114- MON is the luckiest manager ever.Watched the game on motd last night ,yet another freaky goal by them in a **** game where both sides looked average .

  26. A corrupt organisation a never going to be in a position to enforce fair play of any kind 😕

      (Quote)

  27. KimT…agree, but then we’ve had a few lucky ones too, I’d settle for a lucky win tomorrow

      (Quote)

  28. BB I wouldn’t take Joey back either but I still think we miss those leadership qualities, more so from Saylor got injuried, both will roll their sleeves up and get stuck in while rallying the troops, and will not let them drop their heads and go missing.

      (Quote)

  29. BB AND WITTERS- yeh i knew Etihad had subbed em 😆 but how can they get away with it ,is what i’m asking as it’s obviously massively inflated in terms of sponsorship. What’s the point in fair play rules if you can get round them so easily.

      (Quote)

  30. Big Dave – you’re funny as **** mate. You demand respect with one breath and then brandish people as dickheads with the next.

Make your mind up soft lad 😆 😆 😆

  31. I think we got to attack and go for it tommorow, as the general feeling is we are gonna get stuffed , lets go down fighting. Arsenal don’t cope too well at the back when faced with pace so Hba and Oba both need to start imo. I just don’t want to see us hoofballing again cause they will murder us if we play like that.

      (Quote)

  32. Lets just keep it tight 4-5-1 stopping them playng through us like spuds did, With demba and ben arfa we have enough to cause them trouble on the counter, The options of Cisse and Shola from the bench.

    —Simpson—Williamson—Colo—-Santon—
    ——–Guthrie——-Tiote—–Cabaye————
    —–Ben Arfa—————————–Gutierez–

^^^ Thats what i would pick but i expect Raylor to play instead of Guthrie…

Anything anybody wants to see written about especially? Think of it as a request haha

      (Quote)

  34. Bizarrely I agree with both Dave and TC.

Dave in the sense that we miss and need a leader at times. Colo is an inspirational player but when our backs are against the wall he isn’t the voice that’s going to rally the troops. We’ve battled well this season and shown in some games, like last weekend, that well battle til the end. But we need a leader with a voice. I’m nit saying strip Colo of the captaincy, you don’t need the armband to be a leader.

But I agree with TC – Barton wasn’t that player IMO. He certainly hasn’t lead QPR to greatness, in fact if he but as much effort into leading QPR as their captain as he does tweeting they may not be facing a relegation battle.
Kevin Nolan on the other hand is a player I think we miss for not only his goals but his leadership qualities. Don’t get my wrong, still can’t stand him for being a greedy F’er, but I recognise him as a very influential player.

      (Quote)

  35. Toonsy what aboot a look at our final run in games vs the unwashed final run in games, potential points turtles for both? (and obviously a few lines why they are all inbreds/unwashed parasites etc.) 😀 😀 😀

      (Quote)

  36. TC I do have a few mates that are dickheads but none as bad as yourself 😀
Sharpy have to disagree about Nolan the tugboat being a leader I can remember the liverpool game the most, the one where he said he was going to kick Carroll 😛 he went missing from the start and showed no leadership qualities at all, plus a real leader doesn’t convince your best player to leave, his job was to convince him to stay 😉
Say what you like about Joey and yeah I know he has turned out to be a bit of a walter, but while he was here he always rallied the players and was never scared to shout at them to tell them to give more

      (Quote)

  37. Kim – City have a bottomless pit of cash at the moment but they are clearly spending far more money than they will ever make back – even if they won ever trophy going. The prize money does not match their spends!! 😯 😕

I honesty worry for teams like Chelsea, Man Utd and City who have such a huge debt.
If Abramovic losses interest in Chelsea, which seems to be a possibility at the moment, they could well go the way of Portsmouth. I have no affiliation with either Chelsea or Portsmouth but I don’t like seeing any club in that position like.

I think what Ashley has done at Newcastle is unbelievable and defo the way forward. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see Yaya Toure or Silva in black and White stripes but success over stability is a very fine line

      (Quote)

  38. SHARPY17@135-Couldn’t put it better myself . Think our financal plan is defo the way forward and if you can obtain and sustain the position we find ourself in on such a small budget so much the better. given time and more good buys we may even be able to challenge the top four which would be a hell of an achievement .

      (Quote)

  39. Dave – all players have quiet games, even your leaders, which is why I dont put too much emphasis on the captains armband, you need a number of players to step up.
Where the Liverpool game sticks out for you for Nolan. The game that sticks in my mind for Barton was the one of the season we were relegated. It was the game he had just came back from injury – think it was against Liverpool again when he made a needless stupid tackle near the corner flag and got sent off, at a time we desperately needed our experienced better players.
The blokes a thug and a moron IMO and not someone I’d want leading my team as he is a self declared ego.

Agree about Nolan, off field he was a bad influence and showed no loyalty to Newcastle but I do see him as a role your sleeves up kind of player in most games he was involved in

      (Quote)

  40. Sharpy – I was at that game when Barton got sent off, and remember that was only half the story.

He then went into the dressing room and ripped into Shearer because Al told him how stupid it was.

A poisonous person who has shown his true colours too many times for them not to be considered his true colours.

      (Quote)

  41. I mean he was quick to back stab Warnock, and I’ve no doubt him and Hughes will fall out, especially as he is on about banning all of his players from Twitter. That won’t sit well with Joey. Who will massage his ego then? How on earth will he post Nietzche quotes then? 😯

      (Quote)

  42. Ice – I like that, I don’t know why but I love Jonas to bits me like … He’s just class 😆

      (Quote)

  43. LOL I love how Barton sees himself as this maverick intellectual, fighting the system.

I’d take Luque back over him. At least you can stick him on the bench and tell him to shut up.

      (Quote)

  44. Toonsy said: How on earth will he post Nietzche quotes then?

    He could join .org 😉

Oh & sorry I’ll let it go soon 😛

  45. I honestly think Barton’s leadership is way way over-rated. Sorry Dave.

It’s easy or people to say about the Arsenal game or certain other games, but where was his leadership in other games like the 4-0 against Stoke? The West Brom game? The Villa game where he was made Captain etc etc?

      (Quote)

  46. Sharpy – Unlikely. It’ll be something to do with the chemicals in the air reacting with an Easterly wind. Kind of like the aurora borealis but with a tinge of rosewashed petal from the old ICI place.

      (Quote)

  47. Toonsy from he went on twitter I agree with you, he has turned into a complete fuking ****** that seems to think he knows better than everyone else. before that I had lots of time for him and always supported him. but from then I don’t see him in the same light, and I wouldn’t take him back even if he paid us. But I still think we miss a player that can shout at players when needed and tell them to sort their **** out.
But I honestly believe he is only doing it to up his profile for after he leaves footie, which I think he might consider after opr are relegated
