Newcastle 3-0 Stoke – Match highlights and full match download

Match highlights of the 3-0 win over Stoke City for you all to enjoy now, followed by links to download the full match should you choose to do so.

Two goals from Yohan Cabaye and one from Papiss Cisse did the damage on the day. I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but I feel we could have had five goals if we really wanted to, but at 3-0 I guess it was game over anyway so why risk any injuries by pushing things when you don’t have to?

Still, we’re 4th now, clear 4th aswell thanks to QPR beating Tottenham. We played some fantastic stuff and kept another clean sheet. Papiss Cisse scored again, Yohan Cabaye had a telling impact again (the Frenchamn has either scored or assisted five of our last six goals!), as did Hatem Ben Arfa who can be credited for creating the opening goal, even though the official assist probably won’t go to him.

If you wish to watch the match again then you can do so by downloading both parts of it. The first half is here and the second half is here.

Enjoy!

  2. What a game. Glad I voted for Cabaye on the other thread. Love this new 4-2-3-1. Great goals, could have had 4 or 5 more. Wonderful times.

  3. i’m not a bias person, if we play ****, i’ll say, but i’ve got no idea what Pulis is on about! After we scored in the first half we completely dominated, in fact it’s the most composed, assured and controlled i’ve seen all season. The second was much ado about nothing, but still, we were the better team, it was always us who were going to score.

Never liked the guy like, but he’s become a laughing stock in my eyes now

  4. I just want to see the Match Stats from Statto now. I mean I vaguely recall MOTD last saying that we had 16 attempts at goal (11 on target) whilst Stoke had 7 shots (2 on target)

Applying Pulis logic, if every shot was on target and ended up as a goal, the score should have been Newcastle 16-7 Stoke 😯

  5. cracking result.

Pards and carver must of worked really hard in training to accommodate the style we’re playing. 3 up front while sacrificing Ba’s central threat with B Arfa on Cisse’s shoulder, it looks so natural.

Even midfield with three keeping things tight. Jonas looks really good in central midfield, chases everything. not bad for an aging, slower, overweight, past it player. 😆

I hope we keep this team as we don’t need to sell anyone.. IF we do enter the Champions league. The money we could generate should see us retain players plus add more quality.

I’d love Pards to start tapping up Spurs players. How the might Arry and Spuds have fallen since beasting us.. put a cheeky, unsettling bid in for Bale and van der Vaart 😆

  6. Toonsy@7-Spot on mate. I said yesterday that I was sure I saw 16 v 7 attempts come up on the screen during the game .Don’t know what the hell planet Pulis is on saying they was unlucky like. Yeh they are unlucky ,unlucky to have him as manager. 🙄 😉

  10. batts I think I can remember Krul making a save, but I don’t know what planet pulis is on, or what game he was watching.
I know we are all a bit bias towards our own, but pulis has let his bias blind him to the facts

  11. some of the football we played yesterday was awesome, one touch pass and move. dont know what pulis is on about. the way we are playing i really dont fear going to chelsea and facing city at home.

  12. Susan@19-Bad news for Arsenal that ,good for us though we might even catch em .RVP’s goals have dried up a bit, now with them out who knows what’s possible. 😀

  13. RVP hasn’t scored since that infamous night when we lost in the last minute that never should have been. Karmic retribution!

I was there that night and had to take a cab home, as I couldn’t stand all the **** fans in the streets. Would love for them to unravel now 😀

  14. Aussie @ 10. Blame the ref, mate. Berisha fell over. No way was it a dive. Certainly not a penalty. But what the ****, eh? I’ll take it. Once we’d equalised there was only one team going to win it.

  15. I wonder if Troy will watch the MOTD analysis and finally admit that you can’t judge a player playing in a deep defensive midfield role to one playing further up the pitch.
How lucky are we that Cabaye is easily capable of either.

  16. You call falling, I call it diving Vegas.. He looked like he had been shot by a sniper ffs 🙂 .. diving is a form of cheating no matter how you sugar coat it… what’s done is done and it can’t be changed -but it soured the game ..

  17. That didn’t sour the game. Ithought it was a great ending. Couldn’t stop smiling. Finally a referee who errs in our favour on a penalty. As they say, it evens out over time.

I’m not even sure Perth had a shot on target all game. Can’t remember that many shots off target either. They did a good job of muscling Brisbane off their game, though.
