NUFC video season review 11/12

I’ve been waiting for some decent season review videos to appear, and finally they have!

Relive the season again and view all the thrills, spills and incidents of our European qualifying campaign.

Just have to say a big thank you to to Affy from Footymad who made these videos. In fact he makes an awful lot of decent videos so it’s always worth subscribing to his channel on YouTube to keep up to date with them.

There was some cracking goals in that lot, some of which I’d sort of forgotten about so it’s nice to have it all refreshed. I look at some of the highlights and think to myself that we’re most definitely on the up and can get better if we can keep this core of players together and add to them.

All in all though, a fitting tribute to a fantastic season!

  1. Thank you Toonsy and other contributors and bloggers for the articles etc throughout the season. Good to have reasonable balanced debate without a lot of name calling even though we hold many different views.

  2. Cheers Toonsy but my phone won’t load them 👿 it keeps timing out so will have to watch them later.
But I did watch a good clip from the start of the season when Saylor was in and I have to say him and Simmo worked well together, with one attacking while the other stayed back and vice versa.
As you say If we keep our best players and add a few good ones we should have another good season next.

  3. Big D….if you think you have seen enough of sad Geordies crying into there hands, you should have been in Munich last night. It was nowt in comparison…..you could have heard a pin drop when the final whistle blew last night…. 😯 😯 😐

  5. Nice one Toonsy, great vids !

Thank flock we didn’t finish fourth, it would have been tragedy to have the Champs League place taken from us…..poor old Spurs…not 😈 😈

  6. Munich…if the Germans weren’t so **** at penalty shoot outs the result may have been different 😆

  7. MM im sure the result went down like a fart in a wet suit, tbh Apart from it knocking Spuds outta the cl im glad to see any british teams do well in Europe.

  8. My video only loaded up to 9 minutes 🙁 What I saw was good though. Good job to the guy that made the video and for Toonsy for posting it on here 😉

  9. Richie….thank goodness the English have finally beaten the Germans on pens. I was getting real sick of hearing that one here in Germany “the English are useless at pens”…. The Bavarians at least will shut there kissers in the future !!!!

  10. MM…. did you watch it in a bar and just sit there with a smug grin on your face? 😆

  11. Big D…you’re right there mate. 😉

Say what you like about Drogba, you’ve gotta wish him all the best, it was his day yesterday. Without him Chelsea would be in big trouble, they are gonna have trouble replacing him once he heads off to China…

Bet schweinsteiger is a real embarrassment to the German nation, the man epitomises Germany and looks like a true German, yet he ****** up a penalty the thing that Germans hold dear.

  13. Richie, are you on Facebook ?

I was roaming round the city centre yesterday and it was mental, red and white everywhere. Only a spattering of blue to be seen….Public transport shut down due to overload around 20:00….

I watched the game in the local village sports club, and was actually pro Bayern until one of the locals started spouting off about the English……. the knacker calmed down though lucky for him… 😉

      (Quote)

  14. Andymag, I can understand the anti German sentiment, but Schweinsteiger is a really good lad, humble and bleeds red and white. He’s from the heart of Bavaria and the bloke is devastated. You could probably compare him to Shearer or any of the Geordies playing for there home town team……

Now Robben, the dumb cloggy, that’s a different story. He deserves all the slagging off he’s likely to receive, arrogant and totally unsympathetic…. he cost Bayern the game yesterday, so much posession and no end product, missed the critical pen too…. 😈 😈

      (Quote)

  15. Aussie….and yet, yesterday you were picturing me going commando 😯 (told you it was a bad choice) 😆

      (Quote)

  16. Richie, get Big D to show you how to get on FB mate, he’s good at this high tec stuff….. 😉

  17. Munich…I used to be on it, it was gonna get me into botha so I binned it, not to mention that overall it’s pretty **** as well 😉

I’m not insulting wee Bastian, just saying that for a ‘true German’ to miss a penalty is incredible. What I would like to see from Schweinsteiger though is his famous 35 yard shots that I never see him do anymore 🙁 😉

  19. Anyone else think we should sign that young Greek CB Papadopoulus? Think he’s playing in the bundesliga at the moment, just want to hear fans call him ‘Wor Papadopoulus’.

  20. Havent laughed so much in ages, Poor old twitchy he must have nearly had thromma when that penalty was saved 😆 😆

Wonderful lets see you try and take wor demba now you sharpei faced ****…

  21. Munich surely the Germans would have said ‘ze English are useless at pens’?? 😆

    Cracking videos btw 😛

  23. Richie, I only use FB to swap photos and crack on a bit mate, I find it ok within reason.

If they’re hiding from the bizzies, exes, and stuff though, I can understand why some people don’t like it 😉

  24. CC sharpeis arnt the best looking in the world but they’re not that bad looking.
But I still don’t see as big a mass exudus from Spuds as a lot think 😕
MM Richies lass doesn’t allow him on FB because he is a predator 😆

  25. Morning lads… i’d just like to announce wor lass is mint. I’m getting married in august and moving house next month so I couldn’t afford to re-new my season ticket. Last week I got a pay rise at work so this weekend I decided that I was going to re-new through the week on the pay monthly scheme.

(please bear in mind it’s my 30th birthday next week – for the benefit of the story)

I told my lass and she ‘argued’ that we still couldn’t afford it. 5 minutes later I’ve got a letter shoved in my face with her laughing and saying ‘i’ve ruined my birthday surprise! She’d already re-newed it for me!… Good girl!… so so so so buzzing!    😆

  26. Was just on that spurs blog, man those guys are mental, I hate floppy chops but demanding that he be sacked is ridiculous. Spurs were relegation threatened when he took over and in less than 3 years he got them into the CL, once. If he left you can be sure that Bale, Modric and VDV will be gone, leaving Tottenham as the new Aston Villa, constant mediocrity. Prior to their recent ‘success’ I used to think spurs was just another Fulham, they were pretty much the same club.

  27. Don’t get married Nobby 🙂
As a married man, its the best advice I can give you 🙂 🙂

  39. Cheers Dub. 😉
Isn’t Campbell only 17? Pretty impressive to see him scoring in a competition like this. All bodes well for the future in two seasons time we might see him on the bench of the first team with a couple of appearances, JJ Hopper as well.

  40. Decided I really want Simmo to stay, really believe that he’s one of the most popular players among the team, judging by twitter and interviews and stuff it seems he really helps new players settle in and i think they would all be gutted to see him leave.

Also want to suggest a different possibility behind the contract stalling, I know the common belief is that his agent is trying to get more money.
But I think it’s possible that Pards has been honest with him, told him that he is looking to sign a new right back and Simmo will either have to fight and improve or face just being a cup starter.

If I was him, and felt no connection to the club I would be pretty torn, he’s not exactly “loved” here in the way Enrique was, chants for him a rare to say the least. So the only thing keeping him here is his bonds with the team. Is that enough to sacrifice being a first choice player in the prime of your career? I’m not sure it is.

    Thoughts?

Troy 🙂 where you been mate? Hanging out with your doomsay cult buddies 🙂 🙂

  42. ST – Simpson will always be a player that will polarize opinion.. I think he is a good defender in the fact that he works well with his other back men, knows his limitations and very rarely try to play outside of them.. On the other hand is is as awkward as they come on the ball and is worrysome as a result.. good backup for me..

      (Quote)

  43. The club should show those vids to all the players who want to leave and if they still want to go, Fck em…

      (Quote)

  44. @Aussie, I agree, in the future he would have to be back up to be challenging for europe you’d think. (though I think he’s deserved A LOT more credit for this season).
So if you were in his shoes what would you do?

      (Quote)

  45. I would stay, purely based on the “better the devil you know” senario.. who is to say that he will be a certain starter each week for another team… Beye was our voted best player and couldnt get a game at Villa…

  46. Good for the young’ins winning that tournament, the majority of them were **** in the reserves league, but are showing promise with wins like this. Thought Inman had been released with the rest of the youngsters that weren’t deemed good enough?

      (Quote)

  47. True. I think we should risk losing him on a free anyway. Who’s to say Debuchy (or whoever) will settle straight away, it’s worth just keeping him for that year rather than selling for the price we’d get.
