Game On! Newcastle v Tottenham

Game on at SJP!
Well the moment we’ve all been waiting for is upon us as another Premier League season gets under way.

Tottenham are the visitors to St James’ Park this evening as Alan Pardew and his squad of players look to set about proving that last season wasn’t just a one-off.

The match itself is going to be shown live on ESPN which should ensure there is a chance for a lot of people to see it although it’s obviously best if you are inside the ground. Not everyone can be there though, for instance I’ll be in Amsterdam trying to find somewhere to watch it live, but if you are going make sure you have a great time and sing yer heart oot for the lads!

I’ve waffled on a bit about the match in the match preview which you can view here if you haven’t already done so. It details any news of injuries (and there is quite a bit of that with regard to us) along with some general thoughts about the game and a history of the fixture.

Which just about sums it all up really. I won’t go on much more as, well, there isn’t much need to. We all know what we’re here for and that is to will the lads onto victory in what is our first competitive game of the season. Usual rules apply, team news will be posted below as soon as it can be and if you find any streams worth watching and happen to accidentally post a link in the ‘comments’ section below well….. Go for it!

Howay the lads!

  5. So similar to last season…

Didn’t play the best football. But we have players who have a touch of class and those players got us through.

Think we’ll have games where we play better and don’t win.

    Great start though!

  7. Great result although they outplayed us in the first half. I was hoping Ba would score to get his confidence going. Ben Arfa was a treat to watch. Worrying not seeing Collo at the back. Perch played well but wouldn’t want to see him at CB for long. Pardew will be pleased but please don’t stop looking for defensive help. Howay the lads! 😀

  8. Class gets us out of trouble. Not a good performance. However, the table does not lie. We are in 4th, Liverpool in delegation zone.
