Liverpool could lack bite if Suarez is banned

Suarez out against NUFC?
Suarez out against NUFC?
I’m sure most of you will know what I’m talking about just by the title of this article, and if you don’t, where have you been for the last day or so?

To be honest I’m not overly bothered about the whole Suarez bite thing or all the controversy that surrounds it, but I am interested purely because it could have an influence when Liverpool visit St James’ Park on Saturday evening.

Suarez has now been charged retrospectively by the FA and has until 6pm tomorrow (Tuesday) to respond. If he agrees to the charge, which seems likely given that he’s been reprimanded by his club, fined, and also offered a public apology to Branislav Ivanovic, he will be banned for match on Saturday and given his importance to Liverpool that will undoubtedly be a bonus as far as we’re concerned. If he does request a personal hearing to appeal any ban he is likely to face a longer punishment given the sheer amount of video evidence going against him.

Of course Suarez isn’t the only player who will pose a threat to us and Steven Gerrard always tends to save his best performances for when he faces off against us, but you can’t fail to wonder just how different Liverpool will be without Suarez. He’s scored 30 goals for the Reds this term. Their next highest goalscorer is Gerrard with a tally of 10 goals. You see what I mean?

The thing with Suarez is, despite the amount of trouble and controversy he brings to Liverpool (and you can read his rap-sheet here) he is still a quality player and Liverpool will miss him. Not only his goals as mentioned above, but also his work-ethic and creativity in attack.

What he did was a cowardly thing to do, and it’s not the first time it’s happened, but I do hope the FA screw their heads on. They have had a lot of criticism aimed at them this season for hiding behind rules that they say they can’t change, and as fans of Newcastle United we should know how consistently inconsistent they are just by going back a couple of weeks and recalling how they dealt, or failed to deal with I should say, the whole Callum McManaman/Massadio Haidara horror tackle.

I don’t like Liverpool. Most of you know that by now, but its nothing to do with the club itself. It’s just the glory fans who have been to Anfield less times than I have and give it the ‘biggun’ that puts me off them. They seem to have a large percentage of that type of fan living around me. Having said that, I hope the FA don’t make an example of Suarez on the grounds of their deficiency throughout the course of the season.

Yes he deserves banned, but it’s been charged as violent conduct and should be dealt with within those penalties. We’ll wait and see on that front, but their statement already says that they think a three-match ban is insufficient.

So yeah it seems as though I’ve waffled on, but in short I’m glad he’s unlikely to face us but also hope the FA don’t use a this incident to demonstrate that they do still carry some clout because most football fans know that they don’t. In fact in terms of clout, you could say that they carry sweet FA!

To end the article on a lighter note, I bet Hatem Ben After Eight, Poppets Cisse, Fabricio Coco-Cola (a drink I know, but still…) and Shola Hameobi are off the menu this weekend!

Howay the lads!

  1. Toonsy good one lad, but maybe we could do with a bit of bite,
I just hope he’s banned for our game and doesn’t try to appeal it, but then with him and the dippers issuing statements and apologies I can’t see them appealing it.
Oh and incase you missed my we terrace chant on the last thread
When u live on a farm and u bite someones arm thats a suarez…..
When ur forehead is wide and ur teeth are offside thats a suarez….
When u dive for a pen over and over again thats a suarez….
When ur gums are so tight like uve strained for a ****e thats a suarez….

  2. Toonsy you should release the match preview early, just so we get a taster ya know πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜†
Out of curiosity has this article been opened up for the scousers to seethe over? 😐

  3. If he is banned it will be a massive favor for us like. There front line still looks class though with Coutinho and Sturridge who have been fantastic since they came in January.

We have done pretty good at home to Liverpool in recent times. So that gives me a little more hope that we can get something from the game.

I am pretty sick of hearing about the whole thing already and just wish it gets done and dusted once he gets his ban.

    Cringe worthy headline btw πŸ˜€

  4. No need to comment further on Suarez really is there? Foul mouthed, diver, biter (did it in the Netherlands as well). If he wasn’t a talented footballer he would already be long gone. Nobody would put up with him if he was an average player. As for us well it certainly was a game of 2 halves again against the Brummies. And the Cisse miss was horrible. His confidence must be quite low this season. We definitely need another first class striker in. Tired of watching Shola come on and do nothing. And why wait until there was 17 minutes left to bring on Ben Arfa? Is he fit or not? Really strange but what else is new? We’re going to crawl across the line and stay up but what a horrible way to do it.

  5. Andy – Nah not really. Started off writing it as it’s potentially good news for us, then it turned into a **** about the FA so I just rolled with it πŸ˜†

Benny did eff all when he was on, game passed him by and I don’t buy the Hoofball so he wasn’t involved excuse, we were passing it around, he just lingered around the half-way line. He’s clearly not fit and should’ve had the operation, could be we’re selling him so didn’t want to pay for the surgery.

  7. G2 you missed racist out mate lol,yes but we do another striker in the the thought of shola sends me cold all over

      (Quote)

  8. Prem – I keep reading that, but then I keep remembering we’re not in Holland so should it really be considered by our FA?

  9. On topic-won’t suarez get the chance to appeal and so be able to play vs us? Proper worried about that like..

  10. NEWKIE@17 hardly likely mate as toonsy said in his thread or did you not read it lol,hes already said sorry poor lamb, the fking ********

Ice- πŸ˜† aye good point…I thought they might try something sneaky but I guess there’s nothing they can do but accept it…I just have no faith in the f.a at all.

  12. Villa are actually not doing badly. No worse than any other team visiting old trafford this season. Prepared to attack. Good news for us could be their goal difference takes a hammering

  13. if he gets a 6 or more ban i would put money on him leaving l/pool in the summer and go abroad, cowards always run when caught out, good player but not the type of person i want to see in the EPL

      (Quote)

  14. Toonsy @ 16 yeah I know what your saying but they should take it into account that he got the 7 game ban then and still hasn’t learned from it .

  15. Icedog @11 aye mate I did forget racist. I wouldn’t have him in the team after watching him act up with Liverpool. Sad waste of talent that lad is. I would stick with going after PEA. Anymag @10 have to agree Benny didn’t do much but if he’s injured why bring him on at all? Such a stupid waste of talent this season. Now Pardew is saying it is terrific that we earned a point when a couple of days before the game he said it was important to get to 40 points as quickly as possible. That second half was a miserable effort by our lads. We should have been ahead by more than 1 after the first half although the Perch challenge was a definite penalty for me so we got lucky there. I still think Perch will have to be one of the group who should leave if we are to improve and truly challenge for top 8. Otherwise with players like Willo, Obertan, and Ameobi we are wasting our time hoping for a big improvement.

  16. I would sell our 2 best players just to have Suarez in our team biting and all. We are the team that worshiped Joey Barton for christ sake!!! He has done far worse than Suarez and isn’t even half the player Suarez is.

This United game has been pretty good. How **** is Ron Vlaar like.

  17. DAVE not that i really hate anyone, but i put the ******** on the same level as lennon what he supports is sicking imo there is some sick t@ats in this world and getting payed for it πŸ‘Ώ

  18. Just saw the highlights of the manure goals, 1st and 3rd def offside (if only by a couple of feet) and they didn’t pick it up but VP’s second (what a screamer by the way), looked to me as if he was behind the defender when Rooney passed it.

      (Quote)

  19. That would be a fairly controversial move Santii @33 don’t you think? Sell our 2 best players? This season I’m not sure who that would be but probably something like Krul and Cabaye? Anyway if he gets a long suspension going into next season icedog may have it right. He may run off to Europe. I think many of us weren’t that thrilled with Joey either. I was one who was fed up with him long before his last game for us. Still I do hope we bring in some real talent in the summer in attack, at the back and another winger.

  20. Ice-think you are right @25-imo he could go to much better teams. Italian sides often have scummy *cough* Di Canio *cough* players so could be a good fit for him there…

      (Quote)

  21. I wouldn’t want him at the Toon talent or no talent.

Andy@10 yeah I suggested that yesterday too.

Anyway great to see Vile getting royally ****ed over by Manure 😈

  22. Santii
I’ve never see anyone worship Barton, except maybe the media and Barton was not an eighth of how bad Suarez is.

  23. NEWKIE dont mince words mate you mean another racist like di canio and company i dont mince words πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

  24. @G2

I don’t actually think we could ever dream of getting Suarez but if we could magically make him play for us i would take him in a heartbeat.

If he does leave Liverpool it will be for massive money like he just signed a new deal this year. I don’t think he will leave no matter what the ban like. Loadsof talk about him going to Bayern like.

@Andy For overall scumbagginess (lol) Barton wins hands down.

      (Quote)

  25. Liverpool have already said they will accept whatever punishment the fa see fit – he def wont be playing against us, however this is likely to give dippers a lift where they want to win it for Suarez which might not be good for us
On a good note, Villa getting hammered, can see Wigan beating Swansea and Villa so we need a point at least from somewhere – wouldnt be surprised if villa beat the scum

      (Quote)

  26. Kim-yeah those are the sides linked…but for some reason I don’t picture him in Germany. He could get in the side defo like but I’m not sure they’d want a ****stirer like him in the dressing rooms. The italians don’t care so much..

Ice-sorry mate, you got me πŸ˜†

  27. Fergie is amazing ,Manure are well ahead yet he is still gobbing off at the players ,that’s what makes him a great manager ,he never lets them ease up ,he knows it ain’t over till the fat lady sings.

  28. Playing a Liverpool side with Suarez not in it will always make life alittle easier, but to be honest I’m more interested in the players we may have available to us instead. I’m hopeful we may have Colo, Tiote, Marv and Benny to select from.
I posted my preferred formation on the last article and I’d love to see us set up that way from now on. Liverpool are far from a one man team, but stranger games have been won.

Do Man U win the league tonight?

  30. Santii believe me mate, I was one of the toon fans absolutely NOT worshipping Barton. I am ecstatic that he no longer plays for the toon.

That Barton is turning out to be an average player in an average French league maybe we can take true stock of our own French imports, who are currently performing just a tad above average in a poor toon line up at the moment.

      (Quote)

  31. Kimtoon@41, there are no rumours over here at the moment about Suarez moving to FC Bayern. Maybe they are waiting for FC Bayern to win the Champions League, and when Pep Guardiola moves in he will show us his shopping list…which maybe includes Suarez…

FC Bayern will be battling out with Man Utd for Dortmunds Lewandowski…that has been doing the rounds for ages…

  32. I have to admit I did like Barton though he was pretty disgraceful. Imo he’s not worse than Suarez, he is mental but he’s not a piece of **** racist C*nt

      (Quote)

  33. Munich….Fucking do one you c*nt! Sorry, Barton moment…Nah, I liked his stones on the pitch even if some of his tackles were cowardly. He rarely let us down (when he wasn’t banned or injured..) and considering he played that entire season out on the wing, I thought he was one of our best performers.

  38. Newkie – it’s colo and Marv I’m desperate to see back in the side to be honest mate, and Benny.
Would love to see how Marv and Benny in the same team would look.

As for Barton, he was a **** and I had no time for him at all. But Suarez is a disgraceful, dirty, cheating, horrible ****.

      (Quote)

  39. Newkie @ 57 agree with you 100% Joey was a bit of a nut job but wasn’t a racist diving vampire, biting 2 players just shows how low the racist ****er can go

  41. Newkie@60, thanks for taking my comment as it was intended, tongue in cheek mate… πŸ˜‰
I can understand you wanting Barton in your team, but for me we couldn’t offload the guy quick enough…no matter what he could or couldn’t do on the pitch.. a real bad apple. He looks like a choirboy compared to Suarez though πŸ‘Ώ
