Game On! QPR v Newcastle

Game On at Loftus Road
Game On at Loftus Road
The message as we head into our penultimate game of the season is really quite simple – win at Loftus Road and we eliminate ourselves from the possibility of being relegated.

We can the head into the final game of the season – at home to Arsenal – without any real pressure knowing that we have Premier League football to look forward to next season.

A win at QPR, with their squad of expensive signings who will no doubt be looking for a way out of the club in the next few weeks, should be simple. Already resigned to relegation, and with the poorest home record in the league, they have nothing to play for other than pride whilst we have everything still on the line. However our away record this season suggests that we won’t win this game although I am of course waiting to be pleasantly surprised.

For some more background on the match, along with injury news, a look at the history of the fixture between the two clubs, some facts and stats for both sides and some random thinking at the end, why not head over and read my match preview which is online here.

The game itself is not being shown live on the TV here in the UK. However there are a number of overseas TV channels who have chosen to broadcast the match so catching a stream shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Hopefully. If you happen to find a good stream then please feel free to share it with your fellow Newcastle fans by leaving a link in the ‘comments’ section below.

Team news will be provided by myself today before I head off to work and miss the match, which is probably a good omen for us to be fair. I will endeavour to add the teamsheet in full at the bottom of this article.

Now is the time to deliver.

Howay the lads!

Point is, I’ve seen Debuchy put in performances for France that Simpson could only dream of.

As I said, it’s probably best to see how players next year. People forget how bad Colo and Enrique were in their first seasons. I fully expect Debuchy and Yanga Mbiwa’s careers to follow the same trend.

  2. I don’t remember Enrique or Colo getting a purposeful red card to just get off the pitch though. No one can ever prove it but that was the most suspect red card I’ve seen in a long time.

  3. I Cant believe that some people actually think if Pardum had his best team we would finish 8th or better.
The whole point is that Pardum takes great players and turns them into **** poor cloggers. Headless chickens without a game plan.
His tactics suck big time. He is so negative and always tries to defend a lead rather than going for the jugular.
He courts the press with his BS and is a fecking embarrassment.
Whatever happens on the training ground beggars belief, but to go a whole season without scoring 1 goal from a corner defies all understanding.
We have started every game virtually flat footed, with a slow negative attitude.
I don’t doubt we will start next season with this idiot in charge, but I’ll bare my **** in Fenwicks xmas window if Pardum is still here by boxing day.
Will be an interesting summer ahead me thinks.

  4. TROY STAVERS and BIG DAVE: I’m watching you … 😎

Especially big relief today for TROY and DAVE.

“Keep away from me” on this blog, TROY ordered me the other day. He couldn’t take the ridicule any more.

But such was his palpable relief today, TROY couldn’t KEEP AWAY FROM ME:

“for the person(s) who predicted Pardew would take us down. ; Up yours 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛 ” “That was solely for B&B who predicted nothing other than relegation.”

We’ve just avoided relegation. That’s VINDICATION for you boys. So surely that means you will now have the balls to COME OUT NOW and tell us that Pardew is the RIGHT MAN FOR THE JOB.

It’s dead easy for me to say, “I feared we were doomed. He’s the wrong man for the job. He’s had his chance. Sack him Mike. Get a top manager in”. Whether Mike will or won’t, why can’t you boys say the same?

You either want Pardew or you don’t. If you don’t, make the case on here that he should go and we should appoint BENITEZ, the man of your choice.

Should Pardew fail next season, will you say “Well we always said he was the wrong man for the job but we knew (by second guesssing) that Ashley wouldn’t appoint someone better so we were never going to make the case for someone better”? ***! 😛

I see you’re second guessing of Sir Alex and the owners of Man Utd was spot on this week. You’re really good at this second guessing lark, boys! Just don’t try to make a living at it. 😛

  5. C’mon Ashley, ditch our useless manager.
If you won’t pay the price for a proven world beater at least get us someone promising like Mickey Laudrup, who might at least provide us with a style of football that isn’t a total embarrassment.

Surely there can’t be anyone still wanting Pardews brand of stability??
What’s the point of being stable if it means being stable *****??

“French international, Debuchy, no better than Simpson?
    Riiiight ”

Absolutely right. I’m so glad most of the people on here get absolutely nowhere near either St James’ or even our away fixtures. Its just so much minute to minute knee **** ***** I’m sure they would boo our team.

Get a proper manager and half our problems would disappear.

    Please please please nail your colours to the mast;

You seriously wanting Steve Mclaren for the Toon?

  8. No knee jerking from me, I’ve always been a Simpson backer.

I’ve read nothing but hammering for him and nothing but “we’d be lucky to get Debuchy, the elite in Europe are after him” yet I’ve seen nothing in terms of an upgrade for him.

I hope I am proven wrong as it means we will have got the upgrade I was promised.

  11. “I will make sure that we are well prepared for next season, and thank God we are not in the Europa League again.”

And this, Pardew, is a neat summary of why you are a bag of ***** and should be relieved of your position before you can wreak your misfortunate brand of ‘stability’ on our club next season.

  12. i never heard a manacer talk like that…. 👿 patetic and poor **** coach…he s ridiculous most than his fckkk tactics …zero plan game …zero bread… 😥

  13. I want to leave cos the atmosphere turned cold all of a sudden but I simply can’t resist speaking to my good friend Djebs9 😛

    Jebsy

Serislly. We are united all and believe toon are going forwards together unbelievably. 😯

Who says anything that might jepardize this …… Belief in the support but I agree Pards is fraught with dangerous!!!

Maybe sack him today or yesterday whoever you think might step in but I believe in replacements… For the goodness of the club. You know?

Anyway. Pards destroys team spirit and he knows terribly so ..,. I think so. 😯

Maybe so next year ! The understanding of it yeah….. Djebs9? I think so 😛

  14. How good did Mbiwa look at left back again btw? So now it seems we have three good left backs, with weaknesses but all young and with plenty of potential. But now, with Simpson leaving, we have a right back who should be at the top of his game who still can’t find his feet. 😕

  15. @ Jebsy9

Duckin loving your banter pale. Nothing towards forever loyal. But I had, just for me, laughing at your wit. But you love the toon so special .., can’t argue against. You know……its a wonder some takes seriously you, but I nose somes are gullibles and used to takes very seriously beyond beliefs. So funny. …. Ha …. Ha. … Alan Paedews replaced nows you bet… For sheereres **** only if he wood taken the jobs … Yeahs? I thinking so. 😯

  16. I think Debbie is struggling to adjust and getting frustrated and that’s why he is makeing daft tackles and tugging shirts ,he had me very nervous today was sure he was gonna get a red. He was better second half to be fair.I don’t want Simmo sold as I think he’s much better than he’s given credit for, last week he quietly got on with the job and was solid all game ,what more is too ask .

Have you …. Possibly Facebook ???? …, I maybe so stribg before you ere born. But I did so much laugh when an individual used to and merrily so converse with you cos they thought for many…reasons that you were over genuine. Not so much. Ha! 😛 Oh ha 😛

Pards out. I not to maybe ? Yeah think so.

“I will make sure that we are well prepared for next season, and thank God we are not in the Europa League again.”

I cant say I’m surprised Pardum has said that, he has shown he can barely cope with 1 league match per week, let alone cup runs etc.
    Epic fail from a hopeless coach. 🙁 👿 👿

      (Quote)

  19. Kim-but he does have a poor disciplinary record, and has done throughout his career. He will need to adjust quickly over the summer, because time is not on his side. I agree though, virtually nowt came down our right flank with Simmo there. Nor did it in the first half of the season. The opponents always targeted Santon..

      (Quote)

  20. Kim – I agree with you about Simmo. Very good last week at wet spam. Didn’t deserve to be dropped for that ***** today.
If it wasn’t for his urges to go sarf, I would offer him a new contract.
Debbie better pull his socks up next season. simple as that. 😈
I’m sure Pardum can teach him how to defend better than he is doing. 😕

  22. Woke up with a smile. Still, nothing can hide the fact that it was a mediocre performance as far as playing football was concerned. But who cares – it was all about winning.

It was also about the players – particularly the Frenchies – having the fight to survive. I think they showed they have it. So we can put that myth about French chokers to bed.

Thought Colo and Williamson were our best players.
Hope Wigan win on Tuesday – that’ll make sure that the last set of fixtures holds some interest.

      (Quote)

  23. THE REALITY TRAIN: I’ll take my foot of the back of your necks when you say either:

    1) I want Pardew as manager because he is the right man for the job and I trust him to take us forward to success in the future with the considerable array of international talent at his disposal (full stop) or;

    2) I don’t want Pardew as manager because he’s not good enough. Only another manager like Benitez (the man we mentioned the other day) can bring us success. Jabba needs to realise this and I will say it every day until he does.

There is no mixing and matching, ducking and weaving, or hedging your bets. That diatribe @ 510 is nothing more than painful wind. I had to read it six times to find anything meaningful to latch onto. How many different ways to cover your ****? The nearest I can get to sum up what is said comes in this remark:

“If he sticks with Pardew he must invest heavily in the squad”.

In other words, Pardew needs top players to cover his inadequacies and paper over his failings. He’s not good enough to perform well with the squad he’s got, with or without two or three decent additions. What sort of endorsement is that? You can fill an orchestra with top musicians, but if you can’t find a decent conductor, you will end up with a cacophany, just as we have this season.

Don’t go causing such a stink with an over-reaction that Toonsy has to come on and warn about “snide remarks”. These are not “snide remarks”. These, like my other comments, are reaction to BS.

At STAVERS’ order I took my foot of his head and kept off the blog and out of his way. His crying was embarrassing. I only returned tonight when he has had ten pints and come on brave enough to have another go at me.

Sorry if this sounds terrifyingly intimidating to some. If this blog wants a love in, then I’m off to somewhere that wants a heated debate.

  24. Troy @ 510
I agree with most of that but IF a highly rated manager became available, I would like to see us make a move for him regardless of the glory Pardew may or may not bring next season.. If Benitez is available, I would like to see him here…
As far as wanting to fight me goes.. I have two secret weapons – Richie and Big Dave. Before the fight I would get them to tell you some of their best jokes and I can assure you that you will be soundly asleep on the ground within minutes 😆 😆

I always believe that you should look to improve. I always remember David Kelly getting the boot by Keegan as he wanted to take us onto the next level and despite a fantastic season by Kelly and promotion it was ultimately the right decision.

Yeah , even if Pards was relatively successful, I would want him sacked IF a proven top manager would take over.

No matter who is in charge, if you can improve then you must do so.

    @ Jebsy

😉 ➡ 😛 you make me laugh. What’s your Facebook name fella?
