Video: Kinnear on Gomis, Remy etc etc

Joe Kinnear has opened his mouth again, although this time what he had to say was more interesting rather than cringe-worthy. Have a look…

Seemingly we are close on a couple of players, namely Loic Remy and Bafetimbi Gomis although he did concede that the situation with Gomis is “difficult” and is ongoing.

Perhaps the most interesting part of the interview is the revelation that we are still in for Darren Bent and still have a reasonable chance of signing the Aston Villa forward contrary to reports the other day which suggested our offer wasn’t deemed good enough by either club or player.

He did admit that the striker situation is the area of most concern and is the priority that is being looked at in this window, but he also admitted that there is another area of the pitch that is being lined up for strengthening.

The thing is this is Joe Kinnear and these are just words until I personally see some action. I have no doubt things are difficult when it comes to negotiations but Joe has a bit of a track record of rewriting things or bending the truth.

As ever I’ll wait and see…

And they are pretty accurate. I would take Townsend in a heartbeat!. Plus he has a gambling problem so he and Cisse would get on great 😆

  3. One of the transfer “rules” from Soccernomics was to get players with personal troubles and help them sort that **** out. So I’m all for getting a player with gambling/drinking/drug/psychiatric problems! Just get him him in serious treatment.

  4. Ice – as a young English player struggling to get into the Spurs team, I quite like this kid as well:

I know it’s not a position we desperately need covering at the moment. But if Livermore could be got for £1.5-2m then he wouldn’t be a bad buy either IMO mate.

Who needs Graham Carr when you have Sharpy on NUFCblog.co.uk man?! 😛 😆

  5. Ice – the little sod is like my own personal trainer man!. He’s as demanding as one of those geezers who do the boot camps or something like that!. Not at the minute mind, at the minute he’s laid at my feet snoring his little heed off 😆

Sleep well all, it’s time I hit the hay as well. 😉

  7. Am I the only one who felt a bit sorry for JFK after that video, he looked very humble and a bit down to be honest. I know he has been battered by fans and press alike but as Aussie has said above, he has achieved part of the job and if he continues why not get behind him?
Apparently the players and staff like him so why not give him a chance, I fell into line and took a dislike to him but he is one of us now and if he continues to produce the goods I am backing him.
