Game On! Sunderland v Newcastle

Sunderland's Stadium of Light.

Sunderland's Stadium of Light.
Mackems v Mags
Hold onto your hats, it’s about to get bumpy! And I’m not talking about the weather either…

The latest instalment of the Tyne-Wear derby will soon be upon us and with it will come the inevitable conflicting myriad of emotion.

The last feeling I had regarding this fixture was one of hurt, embarrassment even. That 3-0 defeat wasn’t nice but at least I now kind of understand how a Mackem feels. I don’t want to experience that again but unfortunately I can’t do a lot about it. It’s up to the players to make amends but a brief sit down with a DVD of that game at St James’ Park last season should at least get the players fired up for it.

Anyway, I really don’t need to go on. We all know what this means and on the other side of the divide is a fan base who will be thinking and feeling exactly the same as we are.

The match preview went online yesterday so it’s there for you to view if you wish to do so. It’s accessible using the links at the bottom of the page and features injury news, stats, facts and a history of the fixture. The official team news will be published below as and when it becomes available.

For a number of reasons this game is an early kick-off. Safety is one but also Sky TV have had their say as they always seem to do. The good news with that though is that the match is live on the TV here in the UK so catching a stream should be that little bit easier. Also a whole host of overseas channels are broadcasting the match thus increasing the possibilities further so if you do find a decent stream then please share it by leaving a link in the ‘comments’ section below.

That’s it. I’m off to bite my fingers down to the bone. See you on the other side!

Howay the lads!

Your comment is the polor opposite of what everybody was saying when we signed both sissoko & cisse.

They were both immense when they came. So were cabaye & tiote.

Mym captained his team to the title at such a young age against psg & he played in the champions league.

Debuchy had fantastic reviews at the euros & also won the league despite being underdogs.

Anita was the heart & soul of the team at ajax. He set the tempo & dictated play. They were really annoyed at having to let him go.

None of these players are rubbish. They could all quite easily play for liverpool or everton. If they had, maybe we’d get to see them at their best more often.

  2. I don’t agree with keep changing the manager every five minutes and I am glad we are not one of those clubs. Ashley could make Pardew’s job a lot easier if he only listened to the manager about what he needs and not Carr! If he spends 15 million and doesn’t get results it’s a different story. Pardew was rewarded for finishing fifth but money and talent keeps you there. Ashley deserves all the blame but how can he be so awful that what kills me at times.

      (Quote)

  3. Lets not forget, pardew had tevez & mascherano & they were too poor to start! Kind of like anita.

Ashley could open up the cheque book but we’d just end up with danny graham & darren bent. Remy & gouffran would be on the bench & cisse would be at the same place as marveaux.

      (Quote)

  4. Ashley please do the right thing and support your manager with the funds available! It’s not rocket science, I don’t get it

      (Quote)

  5. I don’t agree with changing the manager every five minutes either but i don’t know anyone who thought pardew was a good appointment.

He has had more time than every manager in the league except for wenger. How much more time do you want to give him.

If he sees put his contract to the end, he would have been here 10 years! Some people really do get less for murder!!

      (Quote)

  6. KK, is that the same Tevez that has caused trouble at near on every team he has played for in the pl?

      (Quote)

  7. Carver is a good coach: Speed, Shearer, Given, Solano, Robert etc. thought so, Dalglish promoted him from the academy, Gullit promoted him to the first team and Bobby promoted him to be his number 2. These guys have worked with some of the very best and would have got rid if he wasnt up to it.

Pardew is also still a decent manager, He cant fluctuate from good after cardiff/liverpool to ***** in the space of a week. Hes not top notch but we wouldnt get top notch with Ashley in charge and id sooner take chances with Pardew and Carver than Kinnear, Mick Harford, Fash the bash and co… 🙄

      (Quote)

  8. Well forgive me if i’m wrong but that’s Pardew’s choice and Ashley should back his manager and have faith in him, otherwise he shouldn’t be manager in the first place. Now if he wants Bent or Sinclaire, Townsend or god knows who the Kinnear should hire them no matter what ?

  9. Aussie-now now, don’t try and interrupt the hyperbolic ranters, it’s not good for them. I mean jesus, it’s not like Tiote (unknown) Cabaye (barely recognised) have gone on to become better footballers and clearly more recognised on the international stage after playing under Pardew is it? Obviously it’s a fluke, maybe they train on their own in a park or something.

There’s no such thing as good players having bad form is there, no, must be all technical ability coached OUT of a professional footballer who’s played the game their whole life! Jesus wept.

      (Quote)

  10. CC@307-Agree with a lot of that. I do think maybe Pedro’s position needs looking at. It sounds harsh on him but I think maybe it’s too much too soon for him. Then again we’re clearly not interested in developing youth, that was x3 “five year toteharsenal city blueprint” plans ago. 😆

      (Quote)

  11. Why is it a surprise that we got beat yesterday?
The FOOL continues to play square pegs in round holes, Sissoko is not a winger and Santon is not a left back nor is Remy a winger.
His team selection is shocking at times,he tries to accommodate his favourite 11 players irrespective of their rightful positions.
I was embarrassed yesterday watching us being out fought by a very poor side who were there for the taking.
It was cringeworthy seeing the FOOL adjusting his formations every 20 minutes or so to combat the Mighty Mackems.
Cisse looks nothing like the player we signed and needs time out.

  12. Tony it was painful to watch but I get the feeling there’s more to come. I wish we could bring back SBR

I wouldnt mind us nabbing Stuart Parnabys dad from boros academy, To head up our Academy staff. Pedro was given a fancy title to oversee the youth development but all i can find that he does is manage the reserve team despite apparantly being promoted from that role two years ago… 😕

  14. Can’t access this article anymore, which is a pisser.
But just been reading the story that NCJ media (local newspapers) have been banned from press conferences because of their coverage of the march last weekend.
Far be it from me to think logically about this, but surely banning them is giving the march more coverage – it being the reason they are banned and all that.
Banning them will now probably make national press!. So a march that went relatively unnoticed will now probably have national coverage thanks to the dumb *** hierarchy. The organizers of the march must be laughing their heeds off.

  15. Newkie@314, 😆 great twitter ,one things for sure he would of took that game by the scruff of the neck yesterday.

      (Quote)

  16. I would love a top striker to sign but if anyone is any good they will go to a top club. Even Swansea payed the money to sign Wilfried Bony that we wouldn’t cough up and Southampton will spend £20million on a striker when the righ one becomes available. What chance have we got? We got Demba Ba in who turned out to be a good striker for us but it was quite random/lucky that we signed him and then he left! We got Cisse who is a good finisher but not really top level CF with and all round game or someone who you can rely on to get 15-20 goals a season. In Jan or next season we will either try and sign Remy or probably get someone else that the top clubs have had a look at and don’t want! Probably some lad from Iceland or Finland or somewhere. They won’t be English.

      (Quote)

  17. Sharpy ,know you probs wont see this but @317, like I said yesterday it’s another own goal by the regime. People who like to defend Ashley & co must feel sick to see this latest toys out the pram bollocks.

      (Quote)

  18. CC-Has that bloke been at Boro a while? They’re certainly better than both us and the mackems at developing youth prospects. I don’t think there’s any real plan at all for Beardsley, think Ash just wants figureheads across the park.

    Kim-aye 😥

      (Quote)

  19. Apparently sections of the mackems were singing about Speedo’s death? Can’t say as obviously wasn’t there but if true just shows more lack of class. ****s

      (Quote)

  20. You live and die on the strikers you have at the club IMO. You can only go so far with coaching and trying to walk to ball into the net Arsenal style. Most clubs need to pump the ball up to a striker who can stick it in the net. Sunderland having Fletcher back makes a real difference and is probably what won them the game. Unless Remy keeps scoring we are toothless.

      (Quote)

  21. The reason Liverpool are so class in the final third is because of Suarez and Sturrage. It may be a little bit down to how they train but it’s mainly down to having two class in form strikers. If you but them in our team we would suddenly be ten times better in the final third.

      (Quote)

  22. Newkie, I remember a Joey comment after we beat Liverpool the game after Hughton was sacked. He said “that win was for Chris Hughton” (or something like that). The reason I remember it is because at the time I thought if you did it for Hughton for every game he was in charge, he would not have been sacked!! So even with Joey in the team, we were still inconsistent!

      (Quote)

  23. Yeah, was just our luck Fletcher was fit again and we lose two first choice CB for the game. Got to say when we levelled they looked very nervy and we was well on top at that point without ever really being at our best .We should of really gone at them from the leveller they were there for the taking. It really is 3 points lost for me which could come back to haunt us end of the season where as this may well kick start theirs. 👿

  24. @Aussie Magpie Fan – 306

Yes, the same Tevez that has caused trouble at near on every team he has played for in the pl.

You know, the one that has played for Man Utd, Man City & Juventus.

The Tevez that scored 70 goals in 140 games at Man City. The Tevez that won:

    3 Premier League titles
    1 League Cup
    1 Champions League
    1 FA Cup
    1 FIFA Club World Cup

Yes, that same Tevez could not start a game under Pardew.

      (Quote)

  25. Aussie ,I think Joey said it because he knew Hoots had taken the fall for them over that bonus ****. At least joey alluded to that in an interview recently.

      (Quote)

  26. From the BBC:
And even when he has played the Argentines it is questionable whether he (Pardew) has got the most out of them.

Argentine boss Alfio Basile has criticised Pardew for deploying Tevez as a left-winger.

Even striker Bobby Zamora, who netted the winning goal, admitted as much, saying: “Possibly this has saved Alan his job.”

      (Quote)

  27. Aussie-I can’t argue with that, but for that season would you not say Barton tried harder than most? I certainly think he did, more so than Nolan or Enrique, probably Colo too. He was probably the only player that didn’t completely shame himself against Stevenage as well, and if I remember he played on the left wing and scored a screamer! Fancy a player playing out of position and having a good game, I’d thought that was impossible!

      (Quote)

  28. newkie

Aye he was the one who was in charge throughout their time in the premier league and brought through Downing, Adam Johnson, Brad Jones, Cattermole, Brunt, Morrison, Bennett, Andrew Taylor, Graham, Wheater, Stockdale, Turnbull and Rhys Williams.

They arent world beaters but people like Vuckic, Kadar, Tozer, Ranger and Moyo were meant to be when we signed them and for some reason they never progressed. I think the academy needs a proper shake up and he be my first appointment…

      (Quote)

  29. Maybe Tevez talks rubbish but i can see alot of truth * similarities in what he had to say (especially regarding Anita):

“I was surprised to see how long Pardew held on to the job in the end.

“In Argentina or Brazil he would have been out long ago. It was clear the team did not react as he wanted — it wasn’t going right.”

“I was never given the chances I thought I would be given and I was told to play out of position against my will.”

“I had to sacrifice myself for the team which I don’t think helped. I was playing in ways I did not understand well and I lost a lot from my own game.”

“It didn’t fit where he put me, but I wanted to help.”

“I was a bit angry because I was playing as the second striker and I normally play as a No8.”

“I am here to help but playing outside of my role puts me under pressure.”

“Pardew was always asking how we were and if we needed anything and for that I am grateful. But when the match came round, he would be more distant.”

“I don’t think he had a clear idea about my game or what to do. He was good football man but more suited to coaching English teams without foreign players with big reputations.”

“I think that was a bit of a problem for him.”

“It was strange not to have Javier playing. Especially as the team were struggling and losing. He is a very good player, doing well in training and he just wanted to play.”

  30. Nice google work KK, you left out the bits about him cracking the ***** at city and sitting out for months on end..

      (Quote)

  31. @CC – 307

Carver is not a good coach. What has he ever done to show that he is any good?

A promotion by Dalglish and Gullit is not something that i would be impressed with. I’ve already said Carver wasn’t SBR first or second choice assistant.

He wasn’t even Pardew’s first choice.

He’s in his current position because of inertia. The same reason Ameobi has lasted so long.

      (Quote)

  32. @Aussie Magpie Fan – 334

Despite Tevez “Cracking the ***** at city and sitting out for months on end”, he has still managed to win 6+ trophies in 6 years & is probably the best player Pardew has ever managed.

He’s still going strong in Italy at Juventus & will also play in Brazil next year.

I would not say no if he wanted to come & play for us but no doubt Pardew would just bench him.

You sound like you would be be happy for Pardew to do stupid things like that.

      (Quote)

  33. @STEM – 308

The game has moved on now mate. The old days of managers being in complete control of the club are numbered. They barely have a say on who to sign.

The manager’s job is to manage the players he has & to get the best out of them as individuals & a team.

      (Quote)

  34. CC-Fair enough then mate, he’d definitely be worth a punt then. I’m not sure why Ash is so against putting a bit more money into coaching, it’s peanuts in reality compared to the players and if we can develop players even just to the level of Rhys Williams we have saved ourselves the job of trying to buy someone who is a decent squaddie but also happy to sit on the bench. If it doesn’t work out it’s only a few thousand lost, rather than a bad transfer where millions are lost.

      (Quote)

  35. @NEWKIE – 309

Players do go through a period of bad form. We all know that but when you have an entire squad of players in bad form for most of the season, it’s not just down to the players.

    SkySports:
Moussa Sissoko. After just two games the powerful midfielder has hinted at what an inspired signing he could be for Newcastle. He was a dominant figure in midfield and his two goals were influential to the win.

Don’t make me look at what people were saying about Cabaye, Tiote, Cisse etc when they first came here.

      (Quote)

  36. KK-So our entire squad is in **** form right now? Honestly you’re mental.

Yep good old sissoko, he actually scored the same goals in that game as he had done in a season and a half at Toulouse, but maybe his manager there was **** and already coaching goals out of him or something? Or who knows, maybe it was form?

Skysports reporting, it’s all about jumping on the bandwagon, which everyone is guilty of in football. The whole world did it with Cisse, now most teams fans wouldn’t want him anywhere near their starting line up. What does that tell you? Fickleness.

      (Quote)

  37. @DJG – 324

Sturridge & Suarez are in form because they are being played right.
Rodgers has changed his entire formation to get the best out of them both and it’s working.

There is no doubt about the influence Rodgers has had at Liverpool in the way they play. He is a modern coach.

Rodgers travelled around Spain studying different coaching methods, and was invited by Mourinho to join the Chelsea Academy as the head youth coach in 2004.

He was promoted to reserve team manager two years later, and was kept in that position by Avram Grant and Luiz Felipe Scolari.

This is Brendan Rodgers who is nearly 10 years younger than John Carver & is already much much better.

      (Quote)

  38. @NEWKIE – 342

Yes, our entire squad is in **** form right now. You’re mental for not seeing it.

Carr or Pardew to go – Stardust called it right months ago.

You can say it’s just jumping on the bandwagon but we’ve all seen what these players are capable of.

It’s not a fluke, they are just too inconsistent to do it every week.

That inconsistency is down to the manager. A manager that has had the second most stable job in the Premier League!

and yes, about Sissoko – Alain Casanova, manager of Toulouse is rubbish.

      (Quote)

  39. Re read this and pretend it was said by Anita, Sissoko, Gouffran, Cisse, Cabaye and it suddenly alot of things will begin to make sense:

“I was surprised to see how long Pardew held on to the job in the end.

“In France or Holland he would have been out long ago.

“I was a bit angry because I was playing as a winger and I normally play as a No8.”

“It was strange not to have Anita/Marveaux/Gouffran playing. Especially as the team were struggling and losing. He is a very good player, doing well in training and he just wanted to play.”

      (Quote)

  40. So after one match, every single one of them is out of form, even though Tiote has played a blinder in the last three matches and Debuchy is coming good. Classic case of mental hyperbole, yes it’s the derby and we’re all pissed off but ffs man get a grip.

So it’s the manager’s fault if every player isn’t consistent 100% of the time? Mental.

I see, so the manager who Sissoko has played all his time under and has had great scoring runs and performances and has apparently developed into this world class player that you think he is-is a **** manager. Interesting. Why is Sissoko any good then? He ignored this guy for 5 years?

      (Quote)

  41. That’s the problem Newkie. you’re just looking at one match at a time. We’ve been rubbish in most games for so long it’s amazing Pardew is still here.

Yes Tiote has played ok in the last couple of games but that is nowhere near to what he is capable of. The same with Debuchy. These are all very very good players but they are not playing very very well, are they?

    So what’s the excuse?

Is it that Pardew is working with some really terrible players or

Is it that Pardew is not getting the best out of his players?

The players might be partly responsible if they are not giving 100% but the buck stops with the manager.

If he can’t get 100% from his players (and he didn’t yesterday as Sunderland wanted the win more), he needs to go & be replaced by someone who can.

Fear of Joe Kinnear seems to have got all you Pardew supporters paralysed!!

      (Quote)

  42. And we go back into circles. No manager ever gets 100% out of their team, not even Ferguson. Certainly not Mourinho. Can’t think of anyone who ever has done.

And for Pardew, we all know he can be **** poor, who are we going to get? Nobody decent, because that’s how Mike rolls. End of, I cba having this managerial fantasy football discussion over and over.

      (Quote)

  43. Sissoko is considered to be potentially a very good player. Not because he is technically very good but because he has all of the physical attributes to do it.

Under Pardew i can’t count how many times i’ve seen him get shrugged off the ball. Sometimes when it happens the opposition are caught out and are surprised at how easy it was.

I never said he had great scoring runs. He isn’t a forward or an attacking midfielder or a winger! He’s also not worldclass but he wouldn’t be out of place at Liverpool or Spurs would he?

Consistently played out of position in an ambiguous role. Where has that happened before???

    Oh yeah, Tevez:
“I had to sacrifice myself for the team which I don’t think helped. I was playing in ways I did not understand well and I lost a lot from my own game.”

“It didn’t fit where he put me, but I wanted to help.”

“I don’t think he had a clear idea about my game or what to do. He was good football man but more suited to coaching English teams without foreign players with big reputations.”

“I think that was a bit of a problem for him.”

      (Quote)

  44. kk@336

It had nothing to do with inertia, He was kept on along with Steve Clarke as he was a talented coach. Bobby would have been ruthless if he didnt rate him. He got rid of the rest of Gullits staff and transfer listed 13 players when he first arrived.

As i said earlier Wadsworth was Bobbys number 2 when he arrived and we finished 11th twice, Played negative football and signed absolute dross. Carver became his assistant and we finished 3rd, 4th and 5th, Played some amazing attacking football and brought in Robert, Woodgate, Jenas and Bellamy. Does that improvement in fortunes not show that Carver was doing something right or was this all in totally in spite of him ?

      (Quote)

  45. KK-Sissoko played attacking roles before he arrived here. When he arrived here I and many others wanted him CM/CDM. Others said his position was as an attacking mid. They felt vindicated when he scored in his first few outings, I felt it when he kept running into blind alleys. Make of it what you will.

No he was never a winger but I’d rather see what he can do there than never try it at all.

      (Quote)

  46. You can try to blame Mike Ashley or Joe Kinnear but neither of them are managing the team.

The steps to recovering from your Pardew delusion are as follows:

    1) Acknowledge that Pardew should never have been given the job

    2) Acknowledge that Pardew is not good enough for the job

    3) Call for Pardew to be replaced by anyone of the following:
    Fatih Terim
    Marcelo Bielsa
    Rudi Garcia
    Philippe Montanier
    Frank de Boer
    Jorge Jesus

    3) If Kinnear is appointed, start again from step 1.

    4) If we finally get a modern forward thinking decent manager, support him.

      (Quote)

  47. Newkie you’ve inadvertently pointed out one of our real problems and one that was very apparent yesterday. You say Tiote’s been playing well lately. He has, he’s been Tiote to perfection. Turning in circles, hanging onto the ball too long, passing sideways or back. Sure lots of tackling but it’s taking us an age to get the bloody ball upfield and when we do their team is lined up perfectly to stop us. Far too slow releasing the ball and setting someone free. When it gets to Benny or Remy there’s four players around them.
Pardew insists that Sissoko is an AM. He’s not. Gouffran’s not a winger either. The whole team looked better when we had Anita and Sissoko in midfield and Cabaye just ahead of them.

      (Quote)

  48. I never wanted Pardew in the first place either ffs, I was livid! Just because I don’t whine and moan every single day on here about it does not mean I am happy with Pardew and our current position. This place is getting as bad as the others now, I give up.

      (Quote)

  49. Georgio-I agree that we are way to slow getting the ball up the pitch, but I disagree that that is down to Tiote. I also want Anita in the side, but the difference between us is who is sacrificed I guess. For me, Sissoko doesn’t have the balls to be a defensive mid. Tiote like’s the pirouette as most defensive mids do, but he actually has strength and a bit of speed to get us on the front foot, unlike the Scott Parker “half turn”.

      (Quote)

  50. That was a hard loss and I’m not sure Pardew learned anything from it. “If we’d gotten a second goal the game would have been over”? Absolute nonsense. We were never in control of that game from beginning to end. They swarmed us in the first half and worked their socks off. Despite that we couldn’t take advantage in the second half, they did. Many of our players had poor games. We took a few long shots but no real pressure in their box. Most of our shots missed or dribbled in to the goalie. We played a poor game Pardew. Admit it.

      (Quote)

  51. Kimtoon are you and yours all right? The storm was very bad. Many without power now. Hope your roof made it through undamaged.

      (Quote)

  52. Newkie – disagree mate. I get what you’re saying but we’re so slow in the middle and Tiote’s the worst culprit. But hey, let’s not argue. It was a **** performance all round. Where was the deadly Remy all game? The dribbling king Benny? Santon was asleep for the first 15 minutes. And I never want to see Cisse again. I guess we’re all frayed by it and there’s worse to come . . .

      (Quote)

  53. By the time the Norwich game comes around it might be 2 teams scrapping for 3 points to keep their heads above water. 🙁

      (Quote)

  54. What has Sissoko been adding to our play recently? I would bench him and try to determine what his best role is. Can the team afford to play 2 defensive midfielders, Tiote and Sissoko? As far as I can tell he is not an attacker and is easily forced off the ball by much smaller players. Can he stop attacks and send us forward with a good pass? Tiote can stop attacks but his passing remains suspect. Very difficult situation. As for Cisse he is providing nothing now. Can Pardew design an effective attack around Remy? And if he does and then Remy leaves what are we left with? The lack of another good striker, a decent winger, and a solid defensive core is killing us. Yet the owner won’t spend and seems determined to force Pardew into a position where he has to be sacked. Lots to worry about here.

  55. G2 ,Fine thanks mate, in the end it wasn’t too bad ,not the 80mph winds they forecast just very windy for a little while in the early hours really .The rain was the worst bit, had Lew home today for dentist and we got soaked no less than 6 times this morning just getting in and out the car 🙄 .

  56. Good to hear Kimtoon. Now we need some better footy to cheer us up. This should be an interesting week for the club. We won’t be reading about it in the local newspapers though apparently. Is the owner getting worried again? The paranoia around the club sounds ridiculous. The press statement from Wendy Taylor, Head of Media sums it up really. 😕

  57. Instead of Sissoko and Anita, I would now play Tiote and Anita, as Anita has been unfairly dropped and Tiote deserves his place and was the only one with any fight in the derby, which is disgusting.

    ———————–Remy——————–
    Sammy————-Marv————Gouff-
    —————Anita——-Tiote————–

Remy because he must try and get us goals with Cisse dropped, Gouffran mainly because of his work rate and tracking back but he needs to get to the by-line and put crosses in. Then the other two forwards of the three need to be either a low cross to Remy or a looping cross into Ameobi or Gouffran at the back post. Marveaux can provide assists and is more suited to that dribbling role than Cabaye.

  58. Surely Pardew will be thinking about bring Anita into the lineup starting with Man City DJG mate. We have to find a more effective midfield combination going into the Chelsea and Spurs games. Saylor must get some game time as well. We need an effective CB pairing somehow. Possibly Dummett will play at LB and Mbiwa at RB for the Man City match as well? Up front who knows but scoring will be difficult unless Remy is in there. They are probably looking for a clean sheet to restore Hart’s confidence. A difficult one to play right now.

  59. Still gutted with that display yet again we showed how weak we can be we really need a leader on the pitch that has the balls to tell a team mate to sort his **** out.
Yeah Benny was poor but still shows glimpses of what he can do, but for me Sissoko looks out of his depth, Goofy was AWOL aswell
G2 what was it that Wendy Taylor was saying ? Have you a link

  60. G2-Staylor can’t get any game time as he’s managed to get himself injured yet again. Pure sicknote that boy, if anyone came calling I’d get shot. He looks a tool now just like the rest of the fans with the “what has more points than Sunderland” jokes. Do your talking on the pitch. All we did was whimper.

  61. Either the local paper supports the club or it doesn’t. Do 300 fans with no clear agenda deserve such coverage, of course not. Is the club overreacting, of course it is. Forget it move on. the anti ashley brigade will take it as further evidence of his crimes. The pro ashley lot will regard the matter as unimportant in the bigger scheme of things. I seem to remember SAF banning the BBC for years.Prediction Ed’s already written three articles. There will be one on every blog within the next few hours.

  62. Prem did SAF ban the BBC ? I just thought he refused to answer their questions but other members of the club would talk to them and answer questions

  63. Can this club get any more embarrassing?

Surely time for another march? Feelings are running high now so strike while the irons hot. For me it’s time we stopped going to the matches – home and away. Let’s strangle the life out of this weasel! Yes it will have a negative impact on the results, we may even go down, but for me it will be worth it. There’s just no way he will have SD associated with a club who’s thousands of supporters had abandoned it due to his mismanagement. Going down would also be a huge blow to him.

I feel so strongly and believe that would be the only way we get rid of this cretin.

Short term pain for long term gain!

  64. Newkie mate how long is Saylor out for this time? I agree it has gotten ridiculous with him. We are in a horrible position now with the 3 matches coming up. Coming off a poor performance and with players missing I have fears of 3 decisive defeats. Then we have to raise ourselves for Norwich or sink further down the table. Pardew is in another big pickle while Joe and Mike lie low.

  65. Stuart79 the club can get even more embarrassing. We have Joe and Mike working behind the scenes to make sure it happens.

  66. According to physio room Saylor has a hamstring strain but may be fit in time for the Chelsea game. The same return date for Colo and Haidara. Don’t know how accurate it is but it may give us options.
