The Magpies go into the fixture at Loftus Road having secured their first point in nine games with a 1-1 home draw against West Bromwich Albion last weekend.
While Rangers were hammered 6-0 at Manchester City, which confirmed that they will be playing Championship football next season. We go into this game in desperate need of a win to try to stop us really going down to the wire in the relegation scrap to confirm the last relegation place, also a win will be our first double of the season.
Speaking ahead of todays game John Carver said “If I was Chris Ramsey and I had just lost at Man City by the score line they lost then I’d be at my players to put on a show,” “Let’s not forget this is their last home game in the Premier League for at least one season and they did take a beating last weekend, so I’d want my players to put on a good show.
“Yes, they may be a little more relaxed, yes he might play some younger players, but there’s one or two players in that team that will have a point to prove and will want to go out on a high.
“We know how difficult it is to go to Man City and get a result but that will drive them forward now.
“I have sympathy for Chris – he hasn’t got a great deal of experience managing in the Premier League but he’s a good guy and a good coach and hopefully he’ll get the job next season.
“But for now there are some big characters in the QPR dressing room that won’t want to do us any favours at the weekend.
“I’m looking forward to it because it’s going to be a big challenge for us, there will be pressure on but we will have to embrace that.”

Newcastle – Daryl Janmaat returns to the squad after completing a one-match ban for his red card at Leicester a fortnight ago, but fellow defender Mike Williamson remains out, serving the second game of his two-match ban. Winger Gabriel Obertan is back in contention following injury, but Siem de Jong (thigh), Adam Armstrong (calf), Massadio Haidara (knee), Cheick Tiote (knee), Rob Elliot (thigh) and Steven Taylor (Achilles) will miss out once again.
QPR – Versatile defender Nedum Onuoha returns from suspension, while centre-back Steven Caulker is expected to play, despite having a broken hand, and will receive a pain-killing injection before the game. Veteran striker Bobby Zamora, full-back Mauricio Isla and forward Mauro Zarate are all doubts, but Armand Traore (calf), Eduardo Vargas (knee) and Alejandro Faurlin (knee) remain sidelined.

TDS @ 299. If your original point was that serving a sentence does not make you reformed then I agree with you. If you was saying that you can’t be reformed having committed an offence and gone to prion, then I disagree. Again, the rapist analogy was not adequate for your argument.

I stand by my point that being released from prison does not mean the person has been reformed. I have no idea what part of that people aren’t getting…
I’m not saying they’ve been reformed or haven’t. They’re released from prison and have a chance to reform and live a decent life, but if serving a sentence resulted in a totally clean slate then ex-criminals wouldn’t have such difficulty getting jobs and wouldn’t get punished even harder for future offences.
Joey Barton is a serial offender. Whether he’s reformed now or not, I don’t know. But I still can’t stand the man.

@301 – why? Pardew has a history of pulling results out the bag against big sides, just ask Mourinho. The frustrating thing is, he’ll get those results then go and lose 5 times in a row to bottom half opposition.

And I used that anology to (in a heavy handed way I admit) point out that most decent people would not assume a rapist released from prison was reformed, yet TAE does assume that a different sort of criminal was reformed. Theoretical either could be, but there’s no way of knowing for sure…

I wouldn’t be too pleased if my Daughter dated a guy that had a record like Joeys,But I would have to trust her judgement. But I would NEVER trust a rapist to date my daughter, and to go even further I would probably end up doing time for what I would do to him.

I have just watched the highlights of the Bundesliga. Penultimate weekend, and there are some real big hitters fighting it out to avoid relegation. Stuttgart 2 Hamburg 1. 60,000 fans filled in the stadium, at least 50% of these “Ultra’s” getting behind the team, creating a massive din of noise and pushing the team forward. In fact it’s the same at every Bundesliga game…FC Bayern, Leverkusen, Frankfurt, Cologne, Hannover….at every Bundesliga stadium the fans really do get involved, engaged willing the team on…
The English premier league has been taken over by the prawn sarney brigade…… EPL best league in the world…yeah right.
The game I watched today was abysmal…and not just the result…

Shamrock: what we have is a manager who doesn’t know his **** from his elbow, who comes out with the most confusing statements and then walks them all back. No wonder the players are confused. Plus, we have Krul having another bad day. Somebody said earlier that Krul is a liability if he can stop a few shots now and again but cannot distribute the ball then he is more of a liability and just lets us down and the opposition attack us again. Same with the Carver free kick and corner routines, it encourages the other teamnsto come on to us. LLLLLLLLDL.

MM Carved has passion yes, but he’s not one of the lads fighting in the trenches. Yes the manager and whilst a bit of passion is good in a leader, he needs to come across as measured and competent. He fails in the last two.

TDS my alternative is nobody. Ashley needs to accept his current model does not work. He needs to get a proper manager in and allow the manager the freedom to appoint his own players and own staff. Otherwise we will always underform and fail to meet our potential.
