Game On! Queens Park Rangers Vs Newcastle United

Hoops v Magpies
Hoops v Magpies
Newcastle United travel to Queens Park Rangers today in the Barclays Premier League (3pm kick-off).
The Magpies go into the fixture at Loftus Road having secured their first point in nine games with a 1-1 home draw against West Bromwich Albion last weekend.
While Rangers were hammered 6-0 at Manchester City, which confirmed that they will be playing Championship football next season. We go into this game in desperate need of a win to try to stop us really going down to the wire in the relegation scrap to confirm the last relegation place, also a win will be our first double of the season.
Speaking ahead of todays game John Carver said “If I was Chris Ramsey and I had just lost at Man City by the score line they lost then I’d be at my players to put on a show,” “Let’s not forget this is their last home game in the Premier League for at least one season and they did take a beating last weekend, so I’d want my players to put on a good show.
“Yes, they may be a little more relaxed, yes he might play some younger players, but there’s one or two players in that team that will have a point to prove and will want to go out on a high.
“We know how difficult it is to go to Man City and get a result but that will drive them forward now.
“I have sympathy for Chris – he hasn’t got a great deal of experience managing in the Premier League but he’s a good guy and a good coach and hopefully he’ll get the job next season.
“But for now there are some big characters in the QPR dressing room that won’t want to do us any favours at the weekend.
“I’m looking forward to it because it’s going to be a big challenge for us, there will be pressure on but we will have to embrace that.”
Team News
Newcastle – Daryl Janmaat returns to the squad after completing a one-match ban for his red card at Leicester a fortnight ago, but fellow defender Mike Williamson remains out, serving the second game of his two-match ban. 1. Big D @294: you are a good man. I thought TDS and TAE were the same person but now they are fighting a-mong-st themselves with no encouragement from me. LLLLLLLLDL. But Pardew is now LLLLW. The universe has turned on its axis and I will have to reassess my view of Pards.

  2. TDS @ 299. If your original point was that serving a sentence does not make you reformed then I agree with you. If you was saying that you can’t be reformed having committed an offence and gone to prion, then I disagree. Again, the rapist analogy was not adequate for your argument.

I stand by my point that being released from prison does not mean the person has been reformed. I have no idea what part of that people aren’t getting…

I’m not saying they’ve been reformed or haven’t. They’re released from prison and have a chance to reform and live a decent life, but if serving a sentence resulted in a totally clean slate then ex-criminals wouldn’t have such difficulty getting jobs and wouldn’t get punished even harder for future offences.

Joey Barton is a serial offender. Whether he’s reformed now or not, I don’t know. But I still can’t stand the man.

  4. I meant the world has turned on it’s axis. The universe doesn’t have an axis unless Stephen Hawking changes his mind soon about the whole structure of everything, and Carvs somehow comes out with a coherent sentence.

  5. @301 – why? Pardew has a history of pulling results out the bag against big sides, just ask Mourinho. The frustrating thing is, he’ll get those results then go and lose 5 times in a row to bottom half opposition.

  6. Shamrock

    The former.

And I used that anology to (in a heavy handed way I admit) point out that most decent people would not assume a rapist released from prison was reformed, yet TAE does assume that a different sort of criminal was reformed. Theoretical either could be, but there’s no way of knowing for sure…

  7. TDS your point was completely lost when you ask would someone trust a rapist to date their daughter 😯 what a stupid question to ask and you expect people to know what you meant 😆
I wouldn’t be too pleased if my Daughter dated a guy that had a record like Joeys,But I would have to trust her judgement. But I would NEVER trust a rapist to date my daughter, and to go even further I would probably end up doing time for what I would do to him.

  8. TDS @303 – that makes more sense 😀 I don’t particularly like Barton either , but I’d like his passion in the dressing room. We have a squad full of gutless ponces in my opinion.

  9. Shamrock

His passion yes! But he’s a bit like Kevin Pieterson for me. It’s all about him and he doesn’t think about the bigger picture before opening his mouth either. They’re both fantastic team players when things are going well but throw their toys out of the pram when they don’t. Barton is even worse considering his history of assaults…

  10. I have just watched the highlights of the Bundesliga. Penultimate weekend, and there are some real big hitters fighting it out to avoid relegation. Stuttgart 2 Hamburg 1. 60,000 fans filled in the stadium, at least 50% of these “Ultra’s” getting behind the team, creating a massive din of noise and pushing the team forward. In fact it’s the same at every Bundesliga game…FC Bayern, Leverkusen, Frankfurt, Cologne, Hannover….at every Bundesliga stadium the fans really do get involved, engaged willing the team on…
The English premier league has been taken over by the prawn sarney brigade…… EPL best league in the world…yeah right.

The game I watched today was abysmal…and not just the result…

Agree with you. But you prove my point. You wouldn’t trust that a convicted criminal was reformed just because they were released from prison either. They’d have to prove it.

  12. Ice @ 298 😉 cheers mate, but you know me and the way I view personal insult and questioning people intelligence, IMO that tells you more about them.

  13. Shamrock: what we have is a manager who doesn’t know his **** from his elbow, who comes out with the most confusing statements and then walks them all back. No wonder the players are confused. Plus, we have Krul having another bad day. Somebody said earlier that Krul is a liability if he can stop a few shots now and again but cannot distribute the ball then he is more of a liability and just lets us down and the opposition attack us again. Same with the Carver free kick and corner routines, it encourages the other teamnsto come on to us. LLLLLLLLDL.

  14. TDS @ 312 that doesn’t prove your point 😯 a convicted criminal like Joey would get the chance to prove to me they were reformed and date my Daughter. A convicted rapist would NEVER even get the chance.

  15. Does anyone doubt that Carver is useless?

But does anyone have a better alternative?

      (Quote)

  16. MM Carved has passion yes, but he’s not one of the lads fighting in the trenches. Yes the manager and whilst a bit of passion is good in a leader, he needs to come across as measured and competent. He fails in the last two.

  17. Big Dave

It proves the point that you wouldn’t assume that a person released from prison was reformed. They could be, but it doesn’t guarantee it.

  18. TDS my alternative is nobody. Ashley needs to accept his current model does not work. He needs to get a proper manager in and allow the manager the freedom to appoint his own players and own staff. Otherwise we will always underform and fail to meet our potential.

  19. Sham@317…I know mate, that was tongue in cheek….

I honestly don’t know how JC can still have a future at the toon ?. Surely down to the “local content” on the bench ? Mike Ashley really is a hell of an owner when it comes to showing loyalty…
For someone who has served under a whole host of high profile managers, I would say JC’s big plus is his ability to brush off criticism. That he may not be very good at what he is doing is another issue…
What we showed today was shocking..

  20. TDS: I already told you my imaginary hamster would do a better job than Ugly John. LLLLLLLLDL.

      (Quote)

  21. The fucking hamster just goes around and around on his wheel and then drops deed after 1 or 2 years. We have been stuck with Carvs for 4 years now and he just won’t go away.
