Game On! Newcastle v Leicester

Game On at St James' Park
Game On at St James’ Park
Welcome one and all to this ‘Game On’ feature which today will take us through our clash with Leicester City.

Much of the focus has indeed been on Leicester in the build up to the game, which is the price you pay for being so high in the league I guess, and especially on Jamie Vardy who will be seeking to equal a Premier League record today. You can use this Bet 365 Bonus Code to enhance your odds if you’re backing Vardy to make history today.

For the part of Steve McClaren and United it is entirely up the them to stop Leicester in their tracks. However they will need to be careful should they go into the lead as we’ve seen so many times that this Leicester side just does not give up.

The match preview went live last night and can be viewed here. It features news of injury updates for both sides, a look at the history of the fixture, some on my thoughts and some handy stats and facts to wash it all down with.

In terms of actual team news you can find it at the bottom of this article a little under one hour before kick-off and you’re looking for a stream I’m sure our regulars will post a link or two in the ‘comments’ section below.

Events in Paris will be marked at every Premier League ground today but with the largest French contingent in the Premier League on our books it may perhaps be more raw within St James’ Park than at other grounds.

But as tragic as those events were it is a fact that things move on, and that applies to NUFC too! For we must move on and start putting points on the board.

Howay the lads!

  1. Stu – they really are. I was shouted down for voicing my doubts about Shteve last season, people said he had pedigree and had done well for derby, boro and twente 😳

  2. Judging by the lack of comments on here and the lifeless behaviour of the SJP crowds, everyone’s as fed up as me. Does anyone go to a game thinking we might win?
Ashley’s tenure and **** poor appointments mean even his holy grail of midtable mediocrity looks unattainable now. Does he even have a mirror?

  3. Now people are starting to see how careless it was to lose Abeid. Now we have no CMs just Tiote and Anita who are DMFs and only move sideways and backwards. No vision, no creativity, hopeless. That is why everything has to go through Sissoko or Wini. I say I again, big mistake to let Abeid go, he would be starting every game now. He might not have been the finished article, like Cabaye, but would be better than Anita + big and strong enough to defend corners etc. in the premier league. What does Anita do, mark one of the ball boys?

  4. At the same time the club give Vuckic another extension and send him out on loan. Why? He’s constantly injured and if he was good enough he would have made it by now, he’s been at the club six or seven years! Who is behind these decisions?

  5. DJG@531, if Abeid was so good why isn’t he playing in the Premier League or back in Ligue 1 tearing it all up ?

    A below average midfielder…

I’ll take it all back if and when he returns to either the Premier League or the Championship…
