  2. I’d be talking to Moyes now with the view of him restructuring our squad with players he can identify.

Carr will have no place here when we buy players for experience. what will he know about battle hardened Championship players. dont think any of them are on the mondial books

  3. £80m spent and what do we have to show for it. Of that £80m how much was spent on defence? You build from the back, any idiot knows that. You don’t extend contracts of players past their sale by date, any idiot knows that. And if you came close to dropping the previous season then you bolster your back line to ensure you don’t have another season of shipping goals for fun. Be hard to score against and try to nick a goal, it works for the likes of stoke and even the Baggies so why not us. Run by idiots and I don’t give a stuff what Jabba says, it is him to blame because he put the people who run us in place no one else. The club has been like a runaway train all season and it was clear at xmas we were heading for the end of the track. He must of kept up to date with our form and progress, I just don’t buy he hasn’t. Throwing £80m on young inexperienced players and yet more effin midfielders when you need a couple of commanding experienced defenders was madness. If we could all see it why not him? Because he’s stuck to this stupid ridged transfer policy of young with potential, that comes directly from him no one else. You have ****** up our club Mr Ashley with a bunch of lily livered mercenaries that even Pep couldn’t do a fecking thing with. Rafa is on a hiding to nothing with this bunch.

he’ll be off to Villa if he has any sense

  5. G2 I can’t see Ashley sacking any of those fool’s in the summer. Benitez will go and I don’t blame him either. He was promised there was money in the bank and now there’s nothing left. Welcome to the fan’s world Benitez, Ashley is full of *****. This could be our best chance to free us from this leech.

why would he? thats a much bigger task than ours. at least we have players to sell to make money for new ones

  8. We’ll need scrappers to get out of the Championship. I don’t see too many in the current squad. Mitro would be good. He would get stuck in but may leave. Perez and Armstrong should be good down there as well. I wonder what it would take to get Ashley to give up, sell the club and take a huge loss? We may yet find out lads.

  9. I don’t think we’ll get a current Premier League manager when we go down. It will have to be someone hungry from the Championship I would think. But please don’t make it one of your clown friends Ashley. Or somebody recommended by one of your clown friends. Drop the losers that give you advice.

  10. Kim totally agree and well said. I couldn’t of put it any better myself. Ashley just needs a scapegoat and who ever kisses his *** gets the job. Lee was reluctant on sacking McClaren more like Ashley didn’t want to pay the compensation money. I get angry when I talk about Carr, he really pisses me off.

      (Quote)

  11. Bring back Joe Kinnear as director of football all is forgiven, we can’t find anyone better than you. Carr and Wise have done a million times worse than you. At least Joe Kinnear loaned Remy and kept us in the league with Pardews help.

  12. Yes the fool waited to sack McLaren and hire Benitez until it was too late Terry mate. That’s how much of a clown he is. Ten games. What a joke. McLaren should have been gone in November. I and many others saw a looming disaster right from the off with McLaren. His record was dismal straight away. And we didn’t have the type of player to take charge and lead us. No Bartons or Nolans to sort things out in the dressing room. We have no leaders now and that’s what it’s going to take to get us back up.

      (Quote)

  13. Lee Charnley. Classic Ashley clueless flunky. We’ve seen them all. Dennis Wise, Joe Kinnear. And now Lee Charnley.

  14. Joe made a profit on Kezmen as well, his only signing as dof. He makes Carr look very unprofessional.

      (Quote)

  15. G2 Joe wasn’t given any money to spend unless you count the 2 million Remy loan deal. Remy’s goal’s got us to 10th. I was to hard on Kinnear but I think if he had 80 million pounds to spend, he would do better than Carr. CARR!!

      (Quote)

  16. Come on Carr, find us some more softies to prance about with their latest hairdos. It’s what you do best.

  17. Carr has been hopeless for a couple of seasons now Terry mate. His downfall was finding Cabaye. After that he thought every French midfielder was the next Cabaye. Idiot.

  18. Ashley is going to lose tens of millions on us in the end. He’s such a fool he will destroy the club completely and then try to sell up. That’s when he’ll take a beating. 150 M pound loss.

  19. If we had gotten a solid, experienced striker, a good experienced CB, a hard nosed DM and a fit AM last summer we would be nowhere near the relegation zone. But we didn’t do that did we Ashley, Charnley, Carr etc.? No because we’re too clever for that aren’t we?

  24. There just a few players we have who give their all , Mitro, Elliot, Krul, Perez, Saylor, Shelby, Townsend does try. The rest are useless imo, even the very talented Gini has given up and Sissoko never really started 🙄 I would give De Jong a run out he looks up for it and wants to play and reinstate Lascelles who was just starting to gel.

      (Quote)

  25. Kim it doesn’t matter who you put out on the pitch if there heart isn’t in it and they’ve given up before we’ve even started then we got no chance staying up. Plus we have to many weakness’s.

  26. The manager just the scapegoat. Graham Carr should be out there explaining to the fans explaining why the players are so ****.

      (Quote)

  27. Kim – McClaren had a full pre season and 27 PL games and it was dreadful. We left it too late for any manager to have an impact. The damage has already been done. Nobody can tell me that most of our players wouldn’t get into a Bournemouth side or Norwich or Watford.

Too little, too late by the board.

      (Quote)

  28. of course its the boards fault. since Remy and Ba we’ve signed ferreyra, Doumbia, Riviere and Toney as well as an inexperienced Mitro

Cisse has also been ***** for the last 2 seasons..

the same for the defence, not enough signings over the years while we happily let Mbiwa and Willo leave for peanuts

but when questioned at the last fans meeting Charnley said money was being spent on other areas as we were well stocked in these position 😳

I honestly believe Arma would of scored a few this season and gained us a few points 😈

Cannot look further than radgie Nigel Pearson to get us back at the first attempt. I recall even when Leicester were bottom of the league he had them playing hard-running football
Drinkwater and Vardy, two players who have made the big difference.

yes MM. a task far too big for Charnley and Carr

Pearson would be a good shout and give him the funds to buy players. we’ll be a good catch for some of the talent in the Championship so we shouldnt struggle to buy.

players will probably be at a premium price as everyone likes to stick it up fatty Ashley

    same as me Stu.

Even after the Sunderland draw, i wasnt being negative. Sometimes its better to prepare yourself early. we can’t score for **** and defending is **** poor.

watching MOTD last night, Troy Deeney scored 21 goals and his strike partner ighalo got 20
If we intend to come back up we need to get a decent striker. Arma will get a few with Mitro but that wont be enough

Good on him! but we’ve seen this shower for a couple of seasons now and it wont happen

      (Quote)

  36. One good thing is that it looks like Sunderland will be down too.

But here is somethign to ponder:

The clubs in the bottom three and likely to go down are all clubs who have had this ridulous structure where a DOF buys the players for the club, the ‘head coach’ in some cases have never even heard of some of the players bought and at all three clubs the owner has withdrawn funding and aren’t really interested in the club at all. That can’t be coincidence…

      (Quote)

  37. next up Southampton. a well run club that buys players it needs for specific areas. who would of thought of that concept 😯 . Perhaps we should get back to that instead of wasting money on Carrs flops.

In our last 3 trips to St Mary’s we’ve lost all 3 and never scored, conceding 10 😳

  38. Ryder has done his post mortem and we aren’t even dead yet. He blames everybody except the Managers. He absolves Pardew, Carver and McClaren of all responsibility. Even when apportioning blame he sticks by his Pals like they were not involved at all in this sorry mess and he makes excuses for them. Why he waited so long to question the club structure and recruitment policy God only knows. Maybe he should have had a read of this website for the past few years. Maybe had a look at Shamrock’s piece from back in December about the state of our club. Maybe should grow a spine a see that the managers had a role in this debacle

Hindsight is a wonderful thing for Ryder, but you would think a good journalist would also have foresight and recognition. He really gets on my tits because he has his own little agenda to protect his Pals even when they are no longer at the club. I will post a link to his latest drivel where at least he admits some of what we have all known for so long.

it doesnt work. Thats what scares me the most.

We need to restructure and allow a manager who can build a team.
Under Hughton, he had the same team that was decent enough to come straight back up, this time we’ll sell most of it but who will be doing the purchasing?

I think it’ll be a few years before we get it right unless Ashley sells quickly.

its the fans I feel sorry for. I used to do all the travelling and its in their blood. fair-do’s some say its their own fault for keep buying the tickets but i find it hard to knock their support for the club

I bet there isnt 50k next year..

      (Quote)

  42. Eric, I don’t like Ryder but he has a fair point about the managers. Yes we know they are all average managers some better than others but we have not spent wisely on transfers, a lot of money has been spent on players not right for this league or carrying injuries. Factor in the fact that certainly Pardew and Carver and to a lesser extent Steve had little say on who came in then it’s little wonder they struggled to get results.

Stu, your point about the bottom 3 is very valid, don’t we also have a lot of foreign players with no affiliation to the clubs and see them as stepping stones as well. Could be a factor.

      (Quote)

  43. We have been buying players because they offer “value” and nopt because it is what the team needed. We needed a left back and a couple of centre defender for the past 2 years but we bought only one defender in that whole time! What a joke! No wonder we are where we are…

Austin or Thauvin ? hmmm tough one 😯 Considering we still had Cabella, Sammy and Marv on the books with Aarons on the treatment table it was bonkers to waste money on an untried winger.

there were plenty of decent forwards going to other clubs but apparently we were well stocked. So well stocked we considered letting Cisse leave and Arma go to Coventry

  48. They said we were well stocked defensively, completely ignoring the fact that we have an abundance of MFplayers then proceed to buy yet more MF players.
Thauvin- Bought him despite poor form and a massive vote of no confidence from French fans who voted him worst player in the league. Carr been chasing him for yonks and I guess he didn’t want to throw away all his leg work 🙄
Saviet, can’t get on the bench let alone the pitch.
Dumdums,on loan 😕 wtf is he all about? all this talk about bigger fee if he plays 10 games or whatever. If this is true and it’s not a fitness issue at all then that’s just crazy because if he has the goals in his locker to save us then it’s folly not to play him.
I could go on but what’s the point. They will never ever learn because they don’t get priorities right. It’s not bolting the horse to the cart at all, it’s putting the cart before the horse as in profit before what’s needed.

  49. Mickey Mouse club run by imbeciles.
Cannot take Mr Ryder and his revisionist blather serious to be honest. His first loyalty is to himself, why should he jeapourdise his job of being paid to watch the toon, though having said that he hasn’t had the need to rustle up many superlatives over the last years of Ashley’s reign.

    Mickey Mouse club….

      (Quote)

  50. MM: that was my main point about Ryder, that he is scared to say anything whilst it is happening and then acts like he said it all along. Why the hell he is still fawning over failed managers beats me. I understand Kimtoon’s point about the Managers not getting full support but most clubs do not supply their managers with exactly the players they want or the quality they want. You can’t tell me Norwich have a better squad than us, or Watford or West Brom.

I think Rafa f-ed up on Saturday but you can see why he played Cisse, Tiote and Taylor ahead of Lascelles and Aarons – because they have experience. Unfortunately they let him and us down and hopefully he has been taught a lesson. I don’t get the Mitrovic decision though as Rafa has been used to players coming back from International duty in his other jobs and he still played Gini and Sissoko when they had also been away.

I would trust Rafa to get us out of trouble but he might not have enough time to evaluate what we have. I think I agree with the Stuart-O-Meter that we have about a 15% chance of survival. So sad, as this could have been avoided. Even if we had still lost the Stoke and Leicester games Rafa would have had a bit more time to assess the squad.

  52. I hope someone at NUFC is looking at the goalkeeper situation as we certainly do not want to start off our championship season short of bodies for that position.
I know that Krul is expected to return from injury in time for the start of the season but I have always believed that a full year is needed to come back fully ready from ACL knee injury so I would not expect to see him until October at the earliest.
A similar injury for Elliott will see him out until April next year.
Woodman is likely to leave when his contract expires in June as his father is no longer at the club.
That leaves us with Darlow .
I think Charnley will be looking to loan a keeper for next season.

      (Quote)

  53. **** poor excuse not to start Mitro. Rafa wont admit it was a mistake but I’m sure he know it was. Mitro had the Norwich defence in a spin when he came on. After scoring v Sunderland the lad was buzzing.

A point dropped by Rafa, possibly 3

      (Quote)

  54. Gash: I think Rafa is the best manager we could have hoped to get but he is not infallible. You have to call a spade and spade and he messed up on Mitro. I have critcised our other managers enough for dumb moves so it would be hypocritcal of me not to do the same where Rafa is concerned. Though he is much better than the 3 losers we had most recently and has forgotten more about football than I will ever know.

      (Quote)

  55. It is clear that Rafa would have needed more time than ten games. It appears to me that these players require more time than normal players would require to get to grips with Rafa’s methods.

Still reckon we should just go for it now as it’s obvious we just can’t keep clean sheets so might as well try and score a few goals. Might get lucky.

Would be very interesting to see what sort effect a win would have on the players too. Although I doubt it will happen Saturday…

he called it right by playing Cisse but I would of started Mitro too.

  63. after 32 games we are a poxy 9 points ahead of villa!! the worst premiership team i have ever seen.

with a handful of games left we are now relying on norwich to hit relegation form & us to hit title winning for to have any chance of staying up – 1/6 to go down tells you that won’t be happening.

what a sad state ash has got our club in.

      (Quote)

  64. It wasn’t a good time for MBemba to have his worst game for us. However, we did have 3 fit centre backs so we should have done better. Also, both Anita and Colback were brought in as utility players – midfielders first, but able to cover for fullbacks if needed. It may not be our lack of depth but our lack of quality (I am sure some will say both). It is fine to blame injuries but we supposedly had cover.

It doesn’t help that you send your elderly Grandpa (Carr) to the shops for a pint of milk and he come back with a hoover.

Also, that first Norwich goal. I have seen that too many times against us. Sometimes it goes straight in but I swear that is a repeat from the same spot with the same result that never seems to get defended properly by us. In fact, whenever I see a free kick awarded in that area I am more fearful than if the opposition got one 23 yards out and central.
