Newcastle Climb Out of Bottom Three

Andros Townsend and Karl Darlow inspired a hard fought, crucial victory for Newcastle as they clawed their way out of the bottom three for the first time since early February.
It was a truly determined display from Newcastle as Alan Pardew’s Palace tried to antagonise and frustrate Newcastle and their fans with cheap tactics in the first half. Pardew himself refuted claims that he set up his side to irritate the St James’s Park faithful but it was pretty obvious to all concerned that Pardew tried to turn the crowd against the home side and quash any momentum they could gain.
It did not work. The Newcastle fans did brilliantly to avoid berating their former boss and decided to instead, proudly and defiantly support their current manager and his team. It was the perfect way to deal with Pardew and his present bunch of mercenaries. Although Pardew did, in fairness, at the end of the game, congratulate Newcastle and the fans on a win, it was definitely through gritted teeth.
It was not Newcastle’s finest performance but it was one of sheer character and the three points gained could turn out to be absolutely vital. Townsend was terrific throughout. His work rate and determination was as exceptional as his free kick. Lauren Robert-like in execution, it was a magnificent strike but what was equally impressive, was when Townsend, with fifteen minutes to go, sprinted back and slid in to deny Palace a counter attack. It was the kind of endeavour that has been lacking in many Newcastle displays this season.
Karl Darlow was brilliant. He made several good stops in the first half and saved a Cabaye penalty to keep Newcastle in the lead. He seemed to grow many metaphorical inches throughout the game and was rightfully celebrated by his teammates when the final whistle blew.
With Arsenal reluctantly beating Norwich and Sunderland dropping points, it was a good afternoon for Newcastle. It could have been so much better if not for Defoe’s late, late equaliser at Stoke.
Norwich and Sunderland may have a game in hand but Newcastle have points on the board and momentum into the final games of the season. Today was a good day.

Ice – maybe it’s coz he would post comments that didn’t fall in line with those in your face characters on here, and he got sick of the **** that followed his posts.

Is it right that I post I’m pleased Cathro has decided to stay on at Newcastle to then get **** like this off Eric – a bloke who claims I’ve said things I haven’t or misquotes the things I have?.

I does get very tedious and boring after a while.

For every negative comment he makes, I can find at least 3 made by you. You are not right about tne Aussies. You say they come in once a month to *****. Myth busted…

  6. I’d just like to apologise to everyone on the blog, I’ve been wrong on some information I’ve been using. I have said Sunderland have won 2 out of 14 games. It’s actually 2 in 15 games! 😳 😀

  7. Shamrock: I post many, many more times than the Aussies so it would be fckin obvious that you could find something positive or negative from me, SERIOUSLY. For **** sake.

Sham – credit to you for trying to reason with Eric, but I fear you are wasting your time mate.
I also don’t think Aussie or Bris are that arsed anyway anyway to be honest.

  9. I mean. I say more so you can look at what i say more. Aussie has said 3 things in a month and BrisV has talked about nothing else apart from bitchib at me or fantasy football. Dispute that Shamrock? Do it!!!! You can’t. So don’t give me a hard time about the Aussies just coming on and bitching.

    I can ‘dispute that’.

Ice – you are clearly referring to Troy. The difference is that Troy doesn’t troll your posts – you even had a civil exchange the other week about the price of tickets for babies.
But when you post a comment and someone posts lies and disquotes, why should that be let go?. I don’t believe you would let it go.
I have respect for people on here. I haven’t bickered, insulted or name called at all. But I’m not going to sit back and let someone post nonsense about me personally.

Eric as a bystander looking in lately you do seem to get the bit between your teeth and just go all out on the hunt for someone.
BRIS and I have never been the best of blog buddies on here but when I read his post about the fantasy stuff, which I take nothing to do with because I am not into that sort of stuff.
I was amazed that he thought he had to apoligize for putting a post up for the fantasy footie, because it was for the benefit of bloggers.

Ice – I probably lost my cool with Eric a bit last time out, but this time I just find it a bit tedious & funny at how childish he’s got.
I don’t dislike the guy and we exchange views regularly in a respectful manner.
But I do get bored with this Blackie nonsense and the fact he just makes things up or misquotes what I actually said in the past. That’s when I think it needs challenging – but I’ve never lost it or bickered or insulted. Can’t be done with that.

    ‘Do I care?’.
Well the point I was making is that this has little to do with Blackie and more that I don’t know how you can think someone is a moron having never crossed paths with that person EVER. It just happens to be Blackie on this occasion.

You did. You continue to coz you say I think his time at Newcastle was successful. You say I said he was a brilliant coach & was the reason Wilko was so successful and that I said he worked for the England rugby team – none of those things were true either.
But do you care? 🙄 😆

Ice – it’s not me saying it mate, it’s Wilko himself. In his book & also wrote the introduction to Blackies book saying the same thing.
He absolutely had a natural talent. But like a lot of gifted people, he had a troubled mind & he credits Blackie for helping him that way more so than his talent & ability.

Eric – because you are calling him a moron and full of **** yet you’ve never met the guy.
Understand that this has nothing to do with him as a coach. I have never defended him or his record as a footballing coach.
I have only ever spoke out when you start slagging someone off personally who you’ve never met. I don’t understand that one bit and never will.

You say I’m defending him as a coach, I’m not, never have.

Again incorrect. It wasn’t at some function. It was numerous times at the Falcons Rugby club where he was working with the club & Wilko in particular.
I found him to be a very decent human being, and a pleasure to speak to.

It doesn’t mean he was good at his job for NUFC. He was actually dysfunctional for NUFC as he fell out with the real fitness coach (not motivational speaker) and confused the players by yelling into their ears in the 10 minutes before a match. So, even if he was a decent human being he was counterproductive for NUFC and we are all happy to see the back of him.
