Today’s the day we’ve all been waiting for.
At 9am, the Football League released a full set of fixtures for the new season and we learned that the Magpies will get their Championship campaign underway with a tricky trip to Fulham on August the 5th.
Rafa Benitez’s will then play their maiden home game against Huddersfield the following weekend.
Newcastle’s final game of the season is at home to promoted Barnsley on Sunday the 7th of May with Toon fans hoping the formalities of promotion back to the top flight will be done and dusted by then.

This tournament has been brilliant.

What a cracking performance by ROI. Bullied Italy from the start.
I wish England played with half of the passion on display here
Gashley(Quote)
Italy don’t really do relentless attacking so I think we will be ok.
Shamrock(Quote)
Totally agree, apart from our games, Late winner v Wales apart
Kimtoon(Quote)
Exactly Gashley. All the home nations have shown massive heart, except England unfortunately . Ability alone is not enough to make it to the very top.
Shamrock(Quote)
Stacks of Ireland fans there mind
Kimtoon(Quote)
Italy shmitaly. Goes to show that that most top sides are being shown up by smaller sides with more desire, not just England.
Shamrock(Quote)
Come on!!! ?
Shamrock(Quote)
Get in ,well done Ireland
We need a clapping emoji on here
Kimtoon(Quote)
??????⚽
Shamrock(Quote)
So Wales, England, N.Ireland and Ireland all progress to last 16, amazing 😀
Kimtoon(Quote)
Excellent game.
Tournaments getting better and better
Gashley(Quote)
Where you get that lot!!!# jealous 😆
Kimtoon(Quote)
????????⚽
Gashley(Quote)
Just on the phone key pad Kim. ???
Shamrock(Quote)
So Wales V Northern Ireland confirmed.
Meanwhile, Ireland get revenge against France at long last to set up a quarter final vs England. OMFG. How brilliant would that be.
Shamrock(Quote)
IMO Italy were totally out played, they had only one chance,I know Italy changed quite a few players but they all play the same system O’Neil Sussed them out well, being really honest I thought Colman has played better
Icedog(Quote)
This is shaping up very well now. Ireland V France with the Henry handball revenge game, N.Ireland v Wales home nations and all that, yes, most excellent. Quite glad we didn’t win the group now as it would be another right slog against NI .
Kimtoon(Quote)
SHAM. If they do they will beat England imo
Icedog(Quote)
Sham, I don’t have a modern phone, just an old clam thing that I refuse to change since I only wanna text or chat.

Icedog(Quote)
Ice, can’t be doing with modern phones, they don’t like me, played with hazels but it keeps turning off with this economy setting ****, argh, nope, not for me. She got me a tablet but I ended up throwing it at the sofa in a rage.
Kimtoon(Quote)
Ice, Cars are the bloody same, now it’s all computerised if owt goes wrong you can’t fix it yourself you have to pay a fortune to get it fixed.
Kimtoon(Quote)
KIM your dead right if you notice there are less and less car part shops now,but in truth I don’t have that problem I get a new one every two yrs don’t why I bother really I don’t use it much,Ime due to put this one in it only has 4,000 miles on it in two years
Icedog(Quote)
I have no issue with that mate. It was a great performance tonight. Fingers crossed for a few more ?
Shamrock(Quote)
How about this: Ireland, Northern Ireland and Wales all have far inferior sides compared to England in terms of ability and yet all 3 have massively overachieved not only by qualifying, but by progressing to the next round. Wales even topped our group. England have masses of ability but limped to 2nd place because they will not push themselves to their limit in the same way the technically inferior sides have done.
If England applied as much heart and effort into every game like the rest of the home nations, then there is no reason why they should have comfortably beaten all 3 of their opponents so far.
I have no doubt England players care and try, but I don’t get the impression they push themselves as much as the other home nations do.
Shamrock(Quote)
Did you watch the Slovakia game mate? Did you see the same level of energy, urgency and passion as we saw last night?
I’m not saying they don’t want to win but some teams have really shown more determination to win IMO ⚽

Watch this from 4:30 for a minute or so. Further evidence of a lack of effort from a fan that went to the last game.
