The future of Andros Townsend at Newcastle United remains very much in doubt and with the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Watford among others, all said to be interested, it is very likely that the Magpies will lose the services of the 24-year-old.

Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez will be well aware of the possibility of losing Townsend and is believed to be plotting a plan to find a replacement if indeed the England international departs.

Bournemouth star Matt Ritchie has been mentioned as one of the targets for Newcastle and now according to reports from the Chronicle, it has been claimed that the Magpies have been handed a wonderful opportunity to sign the 26-year-old.

Bournemouth are seemingly open to the idea of parting with Ritchie for the right price and the report state that Newcastle have been offered the option to sign the Scottish international.

Ritchie scored 11 goals as well as provided 15 assists during his last spell in the Championship with Bournemouth and he would undoubtedly prove to be a good signing for the Magpies.
