Reports in Turkey suggest Super Lig outfit Fenerbahce have made an enquiry for Siem de Jong this week. After hardly pulling up trees during his first two seasons at the Toon, the Champions League side are thought to be offering a way out for our Dutch midfielder with the jury out as to whether he will feature in Rafael Benitez’s plans next season.
After playing a grand total of 98 minutes for Newcastle ever since Benitez assumed control as manager at the back end of last season, de Jong will have his work cut out should he wish to remain a Magpies player in the 2016/2017 season.
After losing their valued number 10 Diego Ribas this summer, it is thought that Fenerbahce have targeted the 27-year-old as their ideal replacement with rumours suggesting he could be allowed to leave for a fee of around £6.75 million.
With the arrivals of Matt Ritchie and Dwight Gayle this week (although Andros Townsend did depart), competition for places is only getting more fierce over at St James’ Park.
Do you believe we should cash in on de Jong or give him another chance in the Championship next season. As always, have your say below in the comments section.
This Gamez is an ex Captain as well – so a natural leader with experience being recruited for not a lot of money. Set to sign in next 24 to 48 hours. CB now please and a few departures of fringe players.

Kim we did wonder if we would find ourselves waking up in an basement surrounded by dodgy toys and a bloke in a gimp mask haha

Looks like another good signing. Experienced and will be better than Janmaat who’s a fair weather defender, plus we will make money on Janmaat.
Building a squad fit for purpose by the looks of it. Centre half next.

anyone know how much this guy is costing???
icedog(Quote)
Ice he is only valued at about £3m and is surplus to requirements because their squad stands and 37, needs trimming to 25 and they have just signed an expensive full back – so I doubt they will be holding out for much at all.

Everton have signed a new keeper, so Krul won’t be leaving for them at least.
