  2. Benitez;

Today I want to welcome our project to a versatile player, who can act both on the right side and the left, we will bring a lot of experience and we give great professionalism to bring it to the group.

Today joins Newcastle United FC player of the entity and the stature of Jesus Gamez, who comes from the current runner-up in Europe, Atletico Madrid, and he thinks like us in the challenge we have set ourselves.

I think it is excellent news and I think we’re in luck. Welcome to Newcastle Jesus. Come on Toons !!!

  3. two bits of news this morning, hold up on Hanley deal Crewe get a cut from transfer which needs to be sorted before it can be done Gamez was on his way back to his old club until Rafa stepped in and talked him round

  4. I would like to re-evaluate Sissoko. Since Benitez came in, his performances were markedly improved and he seemed to put in more effort.

Could it be that under a succession of poor managers, he did not know how to play within their systems and was effectively hamstrung, giving the appearance he lacked effort – but actually his natural game was just stunted?

This summer has featured regularly in a France side under another too manager and again, his performances have been very good. He is about to play in and probably win the Euro Championship final. Maybe he has just been mismanaged these past years?

On a final note – if he really is a top player – as his performances for us and France have indicated these past months – then he does belong in a side challenging for Europe, not lingering around relegation or the Championship. Therefore, if a strong side is expressing interest in signing him, who can begrudge him the move?

All that aside – it would be nice if he were more professional and respectful in his words towards our club when he speaks publicly about his desires to move to a bigger club. BUT – perhaps he was lured here under false promises and feels his career has been hampered by lies and a succession of poor managers and under par player recruitment within the squad around him.

  5. Well pleased with our latest signing, I think he will make a big difference to our defence, and will be the type of player that our younger players will benifit from having him about.
I still think without Rafa we could well have been screwed this season.

  7. Welcome Jesus. With you and your Da on side we might have a chance of winning something.

Pleasing to see us making good progress, fair to say Sissoko will be off after he wins the tourney with France, hopefully it lets us rack up the asking price. Shame these fund didn’t become avaliable say, oh I don’t know, five years ago when we would have kicked on and would at least be a better side than West Ham? But what’s the saying, better late than never..

Ice – me & a lad I work with were talking about this the other night actually. All of the outfield signings so far give him options in his formations.
Ritchie is comfortable either foot, Gayle on the wing or forward and now Gamez left/right full back.

They are really intelligent signings cost Rafa is the type of manager who will change things if how he set up isn’t working.

  10. Ice as you say he is giving the club the shake up that it”s needed for yrs.
For me Rafa is the best thing to have happened to the club for yrs, and I can’t wait for the new season to get underway.

  16. off track for a moment, funny how things roll ime not into politics or the like but talking to a German friend of mine German ministers are in panic as a vast amount of the public are calling for a vote the same as England on staying in Europe,i find it strange as it was them that kicked it off

I think the whole Euro thing has to change, the more countries that have come in the worse it seemed to get. I wanted to remain but I think we will see some kind of shake up of Euro anyway as a lot of countries people want to break away, Netherlands, France, Italy and as you say Germany all have disgruntled voters to appease . Problem is having seen us break away without a plan and the fallout it’s caused I would guess the heads of these countries will be reluctant to put it to a referendum in case the people vote out.

  21. Interesting new young’un signings. Findley a Scottish CB (20) and El-Mhanni. a forward, also 20. Are they going to continue with Beardsley as the youth and development squad head? Rafa will be having a close look at it I would think.

  22. Doesn’t look as if we’re after Santon Sharpy mate. Looks as if Sunderland have got him.

  23. Hanley will be a decent signing if we get him. Only 24 but with quite a bit of football behind him.

I liked Santon, don’t think he really wanted to leave us either.

He never wanted to leave, didn’t his girlfriend say Pardew more or less forced him out

  25. I thought his defending was poor and he had no left foot. Very strange for a LB.

  26. Possibly he’s gotten better over the last few seasons though. Still only 25. It will be interesting to see how he makes out at Sunderland.

  28. Enrique in his last season with us was absolutely tremendous. Liverpool ruined him. Should have stayed with us but Assley ran things then didn’t he?

  29. It seems that NUFC are not fcking up the kit now even. The WONGA logo is about as unobtrusive as it could be with that white background, and there are no blue lines and *** flap. Back to the stripy socks of old as well. All in all, a very traditional look and very welcome.

  30. SHARPY you should be happy, talk of young gunners c/h coming to toon on loan Rafa does not like taking “young”players on loan to bring on for another club he prefers a permanent deal

Ice – Hayden’s contract with gunners is up next summer, so I wouldn’t mind loaning him so much this season. We could then get him on a free next season but would pay Arsenal a compo fee coz of his age – or leave him if he turned out to be ***** this season.

If we took him & Hanley for defence I’d be happy with that like.

  34. Best of luck to Cisse. His goals kept us up longer than we might have done. Was he ruined by Pardew’s efforts to make him a right winger?

There is a sell on clause for Crew I think Ice, maybe that’s got something to do with it, Rovers will want as much as possible. Do you think he’s a good buy mate? He strikes me as a bit slow, doesn’t seem to have a lot of pace, good player though.

    That’s a tidy sum if true, he’s what, 31now. It’s undisclosed officially.
