  1. So Liverpools Sahko was taking fat burning tablets which resulted in his drugs ban.

The lazy **** should get a lengthy ban IMO!!!. FAT BURNING DRUGS?!?!?!!
You’re a pro footballer FFS, you have everything at your disposal including time to burn your own fat!!.
You are getting paid tens of thousands of pounds a week to burn your own fat.

    Lazy *****!!.

  2. Haha why work for a living when you can sit around taking drugs instead? He should never get a contract again.

  3. Georgio, England is a list cause so I don’t really care who ends up in the hot seat. Big Sam might play anti football, but maybe that’s what England needs – play to its strengths without necessarily selecting names for the sake of it? Big Sam is a hard working, honest and straight talking bloke – so good luck to him kf he gets it. He can’t do any worse than just about everyone since El Tel.

As for Grant Hanley – get him in. Absolutely solid and aeader to boot.

  4. Wonder how Scum will take it if they lose fat Sam, their new coach will have his work cut out keeping them up and they have tried that many managers of late.

  5. Sham, Poverty could be ended overnight if the powers that be had a mind to, trouble is we are a world where greed is god. Even the heads of some of the poorest countries are obscenely wealthy yet watch their people suffer while folk in other countries do their best to raise cash to ease their suffering. No point trying to make sense of it, there is none sadly.

Quite, he’s rich enough to employ a top personal trainer to shift that weight.

  7. Blackburn say they have no contact from toon about Henley, are they telling a fib or is it just rag guessing??

  8. KIM are B/City saying anything about their centre back, mind I can see a centre back coming in before the team leave on Sat

  9. Ice, there’s a bit in the Bristol Post but only the rumour we’ve seen. Most of the talk is about City signing Lee Tomlin and waiting on a decision from Liverpools Sergi Canos as to if he comes to City or goes to Norwich , both clubs have had bids accepted by Pool.

  10. It wouldn’t be a bad deal for us to get Hantley and then have a core of young centre backs – Lascelles, MBemba, Dummett – all 24 and under.

We could then add a Fat Sam special. Maybe someone who had played for one of the bigger European clubs and was in their late 20s. Similar to Gamez in that respect. Rafa should have the contacts to out-Fat-Sam Fat Sam.

  11. Sissisko starting. I will go out on a limb and say this is not a particularly strong German starting 11 and France should certainly win.

      (Quote)

  12. Pogba hasn’t looked like he is worth 100 mil so far. German’s dominating in the middle where he is playing but I bet Sissoko is subbed for Kante, especially with France ahead.

      (Quote)

  13. It’s been a cracking game so far though. I really expected it to be a cagey affair but it’s been quite open

      (Quote)

  14. What are they asking for Hanley? I have seen him linked but no fee.

The other teams supposedly in are Derby and Rangers. Rangers are skint so they can’t be after that much.

      (Quote)

  15. Well, this is working out almost exactly as I thought when I talked to Troy. France to win it and England to go out early.

      (Quote)

  16. Looks a dead cert that Sissoko will play in the final as it allows Griezmann to play in the middle with Pogba behind.

      (Quote)

  17. Griezzman has 6 goals at the Euros. The only ones ahead of him are Platini and Ronaldo with 9 and Big Al with 7.

Platini got all 9 at one tournament and Ronaldo has got his in 4.

  18. France v Portugal, a team from the easiest group and host nation verses a team who came third in their group.

      (Quote)

  19. If France win the final, we will have to widen the doors at SJP so Sissoko can fit his head through

      (Quote)

  20. Kimtoon: I would have said England’s was the easiest group, especially as England were the 1st seed.

      (Quote)

  21. Any group where England are the 1st seed is automatically the easiest group IMO.

      (Quote)

  22. Eric, I don’t think the Swiss, Albania and Romania are that tough an opposition and France being the host country have a huge advantage.

      (Quote)

  23. Eric, the Wales game was always a tricky one though which we were lucky to win

I would of loved Germany v Wales

      (Quote)

  24. Kimtoon: exactly Sharpy, how much will Sissoko be worth now too.

I like your example better Kim 😉 we’re quids in in that case.

  25. Eric, there seems to be more and more shootings of black men by police over there, is it worsening or just being reported more?

KIMyour comment there made me think,Ime not being racist but why are there no black players playing for Germany??

      (Quote)

  27. Kimtoon: after a few high profile police shootings there is more reporting and a protest group called “black lives matter” is making sure the police are held accountable. There is a high profile cover-up in Chicago that went all the way up to the Mayor where a kid was basically executed on the South Side. That’s not to say it isn’t a hard job because there is a lot of gang violence. Chicago is a city divided where on the North side there is no violence and on the south side there are often a dozen murders a weekend.

      (Quote)

  28. Ice: also Germany doesn’t have very much of an African colonial past like France or Belgium. Their “immigrants” were mainly Turkish “guestworkers” and you are seeing quite a few of their offspring make it into the National team reckoning.

  29. Eric Sykes:
    Boeteng

God how did I miss him he’s been their best defender and apart from Italy he’s been the best defender in the euros imo

      (Quote)

  30. Eric, I saw a thing on tv a while back about the black lives matter group, it was very interesting. It showed a lot of phone footage of shootings by police. It was horrendous some of it, one lad was running from the police and they shot him in the back then the officer said in his report that the black guy had got his taser off him ( a lie as it was all caught on camera ).

      (Quote)

  31. Aren’t the National teams ethnicities pretty much a function of where the European’s colonized. You have:

France – Senagal, Algeria, Ivory Coast
    England – West Indies
    Belgium – Congo
    Spain – South America
    Portugal – Brazil
    Germany – Turkish guestworkers
    Switzerland – Albanian refugees
    Eastern Europe – nobody

  32. Ice: I have never seen so much as a punch up where I have lived. I think I have been lucky.

  33. London has a population 3 times that of Chicago. Yet Chicago has a homicide rate 4 times that of London. Mental. Still – housing must be cheap…

  34. Dwight Gayle;

‘The manager told me I could play in either role as a striker or on the wing, he just wants me to stretch defences and run in behind, and get goals that will push us up the division next season. I prefer the striker role though.”

Interesting. Probably wants flexibility to change tactics from 442 to 4411 etc. May be another striker coming in yet?

      (Quote)

  35. Sham: housing is very expensive on the North side of Chicago and there is virtually no violence even though there are places where a lot of drinking goes on. There isn’t a culture of fighting after a skinfull like there is in some UK cities so it is very safe to go out on a Friday night.

      (Quote)

  36. Sham: there is another massive reason for difference in homicide rates – the availability of guns.

  37. Eric , you forgot the Dutch, they colonized a fair few places too. In the states you had the Dutch buy the island of Manhattan from the native Americans in the 1600’s ,they founded a fortand named it New Amsterdam later surrendering it to the British after we attacked, we renamed New Amsterdam New York. Long before England, France, Portugal and Spain had huge empires there was the Dutch Empire, with colonies in Indonesia, S. Africa, parts of Brazil , a host of Caribbean Islands .

  38. If I was Sissoko I think I would go to Arsenal rather than Liverpool.

Liverpool already have 152 midfielders whereas Arsenal have over-elaboraters and sicknotes. His direct style and running may be useful to them. His competition, like Ox and Walcott (when fit), haven’t exactly set the world on fire anyway.

If he has a good game in the final I think some team will meet our valuation.

    Lazy *****!!.

Sharpy, taking those pills has nothing to do with burning fat mate. Those anti obesity drugs can have a significant effect on repair of soft tissues such as cartilage and tendon, it also has an anabolic effect on muscle, without the negative side effects of HGH use.

So when the players are taking it, it is not because of vanity… It is a way of cheating…
There is no other reason for a really fit player to take that **** other than to enhance performance.. 😐

  40. Aussie – I started typing a whole load of stuff on drug use by athletes but it’s not the blog & it’s a Liverpool player so who gives a **** 😆

All I would say is that I think some can be overly strict at times IMO. However all athletes are told what they can’t take & most athletes have medical advisors, yet still do it so deserve their punishment.

  41. Eric Sykes:
Kimtoon: and the Dutch empire was ruined by Tulip speculation of all things.

Yes, Tulip mania, often used today to compare crisis of a similar nature.

      (Quote)

  42. Aussie, I reckon a lot of athletes would take enhancement drugs if they thought they were sure to go undetected. It’s a real shame as there is something beautiful about an honest clean performance. For someone to win something through sheer human endeavour is a wonderful thing which is rightly celebrated. To then find it was chemically assisted is really depressing and so unfair on the honest clean competitors . Imagine you miss out on standing on the winners podium because 3rd place was a drug cheat or a football teams star player is getting help through drugs. Just don’t understand the vanity of winning at any price, how much better is a clean win, when you truly are the best.

      (Quote)

  43. Kim, I agree.. It ***** me when I hear talk like “just let everyone do it and we won’t have to worry about the cheating aspect” That theory would be fine if everyone didn’t have an issue about pumping chemicals into their bodies. You certainly do have to feel for the athletes that do try and do the right thing. An Australian fella just got a retrospective gold medal because a Russian athlete failed a dope test.. Nearly 4 years late and he missed out on all the financial opportunities a gold medal brings..

      (Quote)

  44. Aussie, exactly mate. He never got to stand and hear his countries anthem played and all the associated stuff that goes with being a winner as you said. We want to see records broken honestly or it’s worthless. If we go down that route then previous record holders could still be record holders if they had had enhancing drugs, it just muddies the water.
Or we could have two tournaments, one honest and one drug assisted 🙄 could be an interesting experiment.

      (Quote)

  45. ha, that would be interesting Kim… I think that we as consumers are partly to blame.. we all want to see records fall, faster times, higher jumps etc… it does drive some of these behaviors..

  46. Aussie, imo it all comes back to money sadly, how much you can earn on the back of success. Less about the achievement more about the bank balance 🙁
