Newcastle United keen on signing Leeds United star

Taylor

Newcastle United have entered the race to sign Leeds United youngster Charlie Taylor, according to reports from the Daily Express.

Leeds United did not enjoy the best of campaigns last term but one of the few shining lights for the Whites was defender Charlie Taylor.

Taylor made a total of 39 appearances throughout the course of last season and put in a host of impressive performances, registering 7 assists from the left back position along the way.

As a result, it has been no surprise whatsoever in seeing a host of clubs expressing their interest in signing Taylor and with the defender having only a year remaining on his current deal; he is widely expected to be leaving Elland Road this summer.

Now according to reports from the Daily Express, revelations have been made that Newcastle United are one of the clubs very keen on securing the services of Taylor.

Taylor is expected to cost Newcastle around £5 million but the Magpies will face competition from the likes of Middlesbrough, West Bromwich Albion and Burnley in the race to secure the 22-year-old’s services.
