Sky has announced more televised games during the first six weeks of the season and three of our matches have been moved to suit the broadcaster.
Brighton and Hove Albion’s trip to St James Park on Saturday, 27th August has been moved to a 5.30pm kick-off which is sure to mean a long weekend on Tyneside for the visiting supporters.
We fair a little better on our travels. The trip to Derby County on Saturday, 10th September, has been moved to the tea-time kick-off slot at 5.30pm.
In what many observers see as a strong indicator of how ready we are to return to the top flight, the trip to Villa Park on Saturday, 24th September has also been given a 5.30pm kick-off.
These are on top of the opening day trip to Fulham moving to Friday night.
It’s good to see that Sky want to encourage away supporters to travel.
