Newcastle United striker Ivan Toney is attracting the interest from numerous Football League sides including Sheffield Wednesday, according to reports from HITC.
Toney joined Newcastle United from Northampton Town at the start of last season but as expected the striker struggled to earn regular minutes on the pitch due to the tough competition for places.
As a result Toney moved out on loan to Barnsley in November and it is widely expected that the 20-year-old will be leaving on a temporary basis this summer as well.
Toney is highly regarded by a number of clubs and now according to reports from HITC, the likes of Sheffield United, Oxford United and his former club Northampton Town are all interested in signing the young striker on loan.
Toney is an extremely talented player and is certainly one for the future. As for now though, the number of established players in the Newcastle lineup means that the youngster will be better served continuing his development somewhere else.
