Newcastle United man reveals why he made a key decision

Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has revealed why he decided to stay put at St. James’ Park this summer.

Following Newcastle United’s relegation into the Championship, a host of players were expected to depart the club this summer and the likes of Andros Townsend, Georginio Wijnaldum and Fabricio Coloccini have all left St. James’ Park already.

Now the likes of Tim Krul, Moussa Sissoko and Daryl Janmaat consistently continue to be linked with moves away from Newcastle and it would not be a surprise if the aforementioned trio departed the club before the start of the upcoming Championship campaign.

Amid the mass exodus, one man who will definitely be staying put at Newcastle this summer is striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Mitrovic is considered as one of the hottest prospects in world football at the moment but the striker is ready to slog it out in the English second tier this season and he has now gone on to reveal that the affection from the Newcastle fans convinced him to stay put at Tyneside.

The 21-year-old told the Chronicle, “It is why I signed here, and the reason I want to be a footballer. I enjoy every day in training and each game I play.

“I hope to give back a lot of the love from the fans with goals. We have a good relationship and I hope that continues this season. I want us to get promoted and for everybody to enjoy it as a group, the fans and players.”
