Journalist provides key update regarding Newcastle United’s reported chase for striker

The Chronicle journalist Lee Ryder has gone on to reveal that Newcastle United are currently not pursuing the services of Sheffield United star Che Adams.

Newcastle United splashed a lot of money to secure the services of Dwight Gayle from Crystal Palace this summer and in addition to the former Peterborough United star, the Magpies currently possess a potent strike force consisting of Ayoze Perez, Adam Armstrong and Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Despite boasting such a strong attacking lineup, manager Rafael Benitez is believed to be in the market to sign one more striker and reports from the Sun (via HITC), had claimed that the Spaniard was considering a move for Sheffield United star Che Adams.

Adams impressed for the Blades in League One last season, scoring 11 goals in 36 appearances and the 20-year-old is currently considered as one of the hottest prospects in English football.

Unsurprisingly, a host of clubs are said to be keen on signing Adams this summer and the Sun recently reported that Newcastle were open to the idea of recruiting the services of the youngster.

In a further development to the transfer story, the Chronicle journalist, Lee Ryder, has now gone on to reveal that Newcastle do not hold any interest in signing Adams and the club will not be making a move for the Sheffield United star this summer.
