Mohamed Diame
Perhaps the most concrete rumour on the list is the one for Mohamed Diame. It has been widely reported that Newcastle have triggered the midfielder’s release clause and are due to hold talks with the 29 year-old in the coming days. Diame is a massively experienced player who has made well over 150 Premier League appearances for Wigan Athletic, West Ham United, and Hull City. Diame is a strong, driving midfielder who always carries a presence. He was excellent for Hull in the Championship last season, scoring 9 goals in 38 matches from midfield.
Diame would undoubtedly be an excellent piece of business and a potential replacement for Cheick Tiote who is set to leave the club for Abu Dhabi side Al Jazira Club. Diame possesses that same midfield presence and would slot seamlessly into the Newcastle side. The Senegal international’s release clause is reportedly £4.5 million and Newcastle will hope to tie up the signing in the coming days.
