Newcastle United attacker Henri Saivet in talks with Marseille over a potential summer transfer, according to reports from La Provence.
Saivet joined Newcastle United from Bordeaux during the January transfer window of last season but it has to be said that the move has not quite worked out.
The Senegalese attacker has struggled to adapt to life in England and he has managed to earn only 294 minutes of action in the Premier League over the last six months.
It is clear to see that manager Rafael Benitez does not rate Saivet and as a result, the 25-year-old is now widely expected to be leaving St. James’ Park this summer.
A move back to France has been seen on the cards for Saivet and now according to reports from La Provence, he could well be joining Marseille.
The report state that Saivet’s representatives have already established contacts with the head of Marseille’s recruitment cell, Jean-Philippe Durand, and there is every possibility that the transfer will now be coming into fruition.
