Newcastle United face setback in potential big money deal for midfielder

Sissoko

Newcastle United’s prospective £35 million sale of Moussa Sissoko could be in jeopardy as Marca reveal that Real Madrid have withdrawn their interest in the French international.

It has been clear for quite a while that Moussa Sissoko desperately wants to leave Newcastle United and the Championship side also seem to be happy enough to let the midfielder go.

Newcastle have set a high asking price of around £35 million for Sissoko though and it seemed like only Spanish giants Real Madrid would be willing to splash the aforementioned amount in order to secure the services of the French international.

The sale of Sissoko for such a whopping fee would most certainly have been a very good business deal for Newcastle but the Magpies have seemingly been handed a blow in their hopes completing the prospective transfer.

According to reports from Marca, Real Madrid are unlikely to pursue Sissoko and the Championship side will probably have to lower their demands for the midfielder as other interested clubs such as Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Roma are unlikely to be offering £35 million for the 26-year-old.
