Newcastle United have no intention of selling Aleksandar Mitrovic, according to the Chronicle journalist Lee Ryder.
Mitrovic joined Newcastle United from Anderlecht at the start of last season for a sizeable fee of around £13 million and although the youngster scored only nine goals throughout the course of the campaign, he was able to win over the fans with his committed displays.
As a result, the Daily Mirror’s recent claims that Rafael Benitez is looking to dispense with the services of Mitrovic this summer came as a huge surprise to the Newcastle faithful and the news most certainly worried quite a few.
In what should be a huge relief for the supporters though, reliable journalist from the Chronicle, Lee Ryder, has gone on to speak about the future of Mitrovic and has rubbished claims that Newcastle want to sell the 21-year-old.
Taking to social media website Twitter, Ryder posted,
For those still asking #NUFC have made it clear they don’t want to sell Mitrovic and have had no bids.
