Newcastle United interested in 25-year-old international

Newcastle United are keen on securing the services of Anderlecht striker Idrissa Sylla, according to reports from the Telegraph.

Newcastle may possess the likes of Dwight Gayle, Ayoze Perez, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Adam Armstrong in their squad already but despite boasting such a quality strike force, manager Rafael Benitez is said to be in the market to sign another attacker before the end of the transfer window.

The likes of David McGoldrick, Lorenzo Insigne and Luc Castaignos have all been linked with a move to St. James’ Park over the past week and now another name in the form of Idrissa Sylla has been touted with a transfer to Newcastle.

According to reports from the Telegraph, Benitez has identified Sylla as a target and the agent of the Guinea international has already been made aware about the interest from the Championship side.

Sylla only scored 7 goals in 35 appearances for Anderlecht last season but it is worth pointing out that the 25-year-old has been compared to England legend Chris Waddle back in his home country and he could well prove to be a decent signing for the Magpies.
