Moussa Sissoko has been linked with a move away from Newcastle United all summer long and following his exploits for France at the European Championships, a host of top clubs are believed to be interested in signing the 26-year-old.

Despite all the speculation though, Sissoko still remains in the ranks of Newcastle at the moment and the protracted transfer saga has most certainly frustrated majority of the St. James’ Park faithful.

Now Sissoko has gone on to speak regarding his future and has admitted that he is waiting for an offer from Spanish giants Real Madrid, who have been linked with a swoop for the former Toulouse star.

He told World Football, quoted by the BBC, “I hope Real will come for me, I’m still waiting. If Real Madrid are interested in you then of course you will be happy, but right now I am still a Newcastle player.”

Sissoko then went on to add that playing in the Premier League is also an option before claiming that he wants to join a club participating in the Champions League this season.

“I spent three and a half years here. I gave everything for this club and I want to play some big games. For that I need to go somewhere else. I want to play in the Premier League, I want to play for a big club who can get into the Champions League. That’s why I said I want to leave this year.

“I’ve spent a lot of time here and now it’s time to look forward. The fans need to understand my situation, I hope they will and that everything will be OK.”
