According to reports from the Chronicle, Newcastle United are set to complete the signing of Everton defender Brendan Galloway by next week.
Galloway has been linked with a season long loan move to Newcastle United recently and it was believed that the Magpies wanted to get the deal done before their upcoming Championship encounter against Huddersfield Town.
However, the transfer has not come into fruition as of yet and there were talks that Newcastle could potentially withdraw their pursuit.
Now according to reports from the Chronicle, it has been explained that the delay in the prospective transfer has been caused due to the fact that Everton boss Ronald Koeman is not ready to allow Galloway to leave before he brings in defensive replacements.
The report does add that Newcastle remain interested in signing the England Under-20 international and that the Magpies are set to finalize the deal for the youngster by next week.
