Newcastle United are currently in negotiations over the signing of Bas Dost, according to reports from HITC.
It is no secret that Newcastle United are planning to sign a new striker before the end of the summer transfer window and Sebastien Haller has widely been mentioned as a target for the Magpies over the past few days.
With Southampton also expressing their interest in signing Haller though, Newcastle have seemingly prepared contingency plans and now according to reports from HITC, the Championship outfit are now targeting a move for Wolfsburg star Bas Dost.
Claims are being made that Newcastle have already initiated contacts with Dost over a potential summer move and the Magpies are trying to convince the Dutch international to play in the second tier of English football for the upcoming campaign.
Dost has scored an impressive 47 goals in 115 appearances for Wolfsburg but the German Bundesliga side are said to be ready to sell the striker this summer following the acquisition of Mario Gomez.
