Report: Midfielder will stay put at Newcastle United this summer

Sissoko

According to reports from the Daily Mirror, Moussa Sissoko will be staying put at Newcastle United this summer.

It has been no secret that Moussa Sissoko is keen on a move away from Newcastle United this summer and following his fine performances for France at the European Championships, a host of clubs across Europe are interested in the 27-year-old.

However, a move away from St. James’ Park for Sissoko has not materialized as of yet due to the fact that clubs are unwilling to match Newcastle’s whopping £35 million valuation of the midfielder.

The Daily Mirror have now gone on to reveal that Tottenham Hotspur have made a last-ditch attempt to sign Sissoko recently but it looks like Spurs will fall short once again as they are only willing to pay half of what Newcastle are demanding.

The report adds that Newcastle now expect Sissoko to stay put at the club this summer and manager Rafael Benitez will be hoping to reintegrate the French international into his plans.
