Newcastle United signing reveals what it is like to play at St. James’ Park

Newcastle United defender Ciaran Clark has described the feeling of playing at St. James’ Park as ‘spine-tingling’

Newcastle United splashed around £5.1 million to secure the services of Ciaran Clark from Aston Villa this summer and following a shaky start from the defender, it has to be said that the move is looking like a very positive one by the Magpies.

Clark has been in impressive form over the past few weeks and he will surely be crucial if Newcastle are to achieve their ambition of earning promotion this season.

Now the 27-year-old has spoken regarding his move to Newcastle and has revealed that the experience of playing at St. James’ Park is ‘spine-tingling’.

In an interview with the Times, he said, “It was spine-tingling. It’s very different to what I’ve experienced before. I’ve played here in the past, but you don’t realise just how loud it is, how big, until you’re there, looking around, having a moment to soak it up. It’s so enormous.”

While Newcastle have struggled over the past few years, the passion shown by fans during match days can only be described as admirable and it is little surprise that so many players enjoy playing for the Magpies.
