Rafael Benitez has revealed that star right-back DeAndre Yedlin could be fit in time to feature in the clash against Norwich City in midweek.
Due to the unavailability of the duo of Vurnon Anita and Jesus Gamez, Newcastle United were facing a bit of a crisis in the right back position and the fans were left very worried after even DeAndre Yedlin had to be forced off with an injury during the 1-1 draw against Aston Villa during the weekend.
Following the game, manager Rafael Benitez had admitted that he was unsure of how long Yedlin would be ruled out and there were fears that the American international would miss the crucial encounter against Norwich City in midweek.
As a huge source of relief to the St. James’ Park faithful though, Benitez has gone on to reveal that Yedlin was able to train over the past few days and added that there is a strong possibility that the 23-year-old will feature against Norwich.
Benitez was quoted saying, “Yedlin is doing well in the training sessions – he’s working hard. We knew about his potential. I think he will be fine.”
