Sky Sports pundit Ian Holloway has gone on to state his belief that Newcastle United will suffer a defeat at the hands of Brentford this weekend.
Following the dire international break, domestic action will be back in full swing this weekend and Newcastle United fans will surely be looking forward to their sides’ encounter against Brentford at St. James’ Park on Saturday.
Newcastle head into the clash on a fine run of form having claimed three victories in their last four Championship matches and although Brentford are a very good side, the Magpies have to be considered overwhelming favourites to claim all three points from the encounter this weekend.
While many feel that Newcastle will be able to continue their good run against Brentford as well, Sky Sports pundit Ian Holloway does not share this popular sentiment and has gone on to boldly claim that the Bees should be able to claim a shock victory on the day.
Holloway wrote in his column for Sky Sports, “Newcastle look like a team that are enjoying the challenge the Championship brings. The rest of the division needs to watch out as this team could go on a huge winning run at any stage of the season.
“However, Brentford look confident and Newcastle’s home form has been a bit up and down. They lost to both Wolves and Huddersfield at St James’ Park.
“Brentford have only shipped nine goals this season, which makes me think they may have enough to stifle Rafa Benitez’s men. This is my shock of the weekend. Scott Hogan to net the winner.”
